They were very helpful to me, despite me only knowing English and being in a different country (USA). It was probably just over a week from the time I initially contacted them to actually having the documents I needed in hand. I was quite impressed with this turnaround, especially considering the records were mailed internationally. Obtaining documents domestically here in the US is often a more painful process, not to mention a much more expensive one, so I was very grateful. Thank you very much!

Want to change my name after becoming a German citizen. No one answers the phone. Their website to make an appointment doesn’t work. Wrote an Email, got an answer that I need to attach 5 docs on their external website. However the website accepts only very small files. Were able to attach only 2. Wrote another Email, where I attached all the documents they want from me. And since then no answer at all.

Outstanding City Office! I've lived in Wiesbaden many years ago, and recently had to get a document from their office. They were very supportive (and fast), and I got the documents by international mail pretty fast. I've learned a lot about German corporate efficiency when living and working there, and now I could see the same standards from Wiesbaden public office. Vielen Danke!

My wife and I were married here 32yrs ago. We met in the US Army being stationed on the airbase during the The Gulf War, we wanted to go to Denmark to be wed but got denied because of restrictions we chose the Standesamt. I will never forget that day.

Ich habe Sterbeurkunden für beide Elternteile bestellt und online bezahlt. Die Urkunden meines Vaters waren innerhalb von zwei Tagen da – sehr schnell und zuverlässig. Bei meiner Mutter hingegen lief alles schief: keine Zustellung, mehrfache Nachfragen, widersprüchliche Auskünfte von verschiedenen Mitarbeitern und am Ende musste ich die Urkunden sogar selbst abholen. Insgesamt hat sich die Bearbeitung um fast vier Wochen verzögert. Der Prozess war unnötig kompliziert und die Kommunikation mangelhaft – sehr unzufriedenstellend.

Waren persönlich da, weil wir zum Thema Heirat Fragen hatte, die wir vor unserer Entscheidung geklärt wissen wollten. Dort wurden wir abgewimmelt mit dem Hinweis, dass wir online einen Termin machen müssen, auch für nur 2-3 Fragen. Auf der Webseite wird man aber nur zur Trauung selbst geführt. Jetzt haben wir den Anweisungen gefolgt, 47 Euro bezahlt und uns verifiziert 😀 Äh, und wenn uns die Antworten auf die Fragen die wir haben nicht gefallen und wir aus dem Grund entscheiden nicht zu heiraten, bekommen wir das Geld dann wieder? Wieso muss alles nur noch per online Termin funktionieren? Und wieso kann man nicht einen Beratungstermin über die Webseite buchen? Total unflexibel, unübersichtlich und vor Ort sehr unfreundlich.
