Standing Room Coffee - Fitzroy North

coffee is exactly how it should be & consistent every time. The space is tiny but it works; there’s a real neighbourhood feel. A proper local spot worth going out of your way for. The cookies are some of the best in Melbourne. They also do an amazing dirty chai.

Very lucky to have Standing Room as the local for a coffee. It is surrounded by some amazing cafes but definitely is a standout. Staff are always lovely and friendly. Never had a bad coffee, even when they are heaving with people. I hope they never take the chilli nduja eggs off the menu.

We ordered the croissant and the jam that came with it was delicious! My long black was excellent, my partners oat flat white was beautiful and creamy. Our friends ordered iced lattes that also were top notch. The staff were friendly and fast. The cafe was clean and cute with great music at an appropriate volume (you can easily have a conversation, great volume for focusing).

I had a slow morning here catching up with a friend and it was the perfect vibe. I tried the ‘folded’ egg with avocado. The coffee’s good here. no nonsense sort of place. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside 🤌

Expertly made coffee and fresh thoughtful food offerings with a pleasant service was our first experience at standing room. I enjoy good food and good coffee especially as i have it black so there is no where to hide. Probably the best coffee I’ve had in melbourne. Sad the zucchini flowers weren’t on menu as listed on google but understand menu changes seasonally and updates are least of ur worries when u are focusing on a high standard of your product.

Love this place — great coffee and vibe. I also really like the round standing table, but it was disappointing to be asked to move outside when using it, especially as it was raining. Given how welcoming and suggestive the table is - and how well it aligns with the name Standing Room. it might be worth rethinking its placement of table or the layout to avoid that situation in future.

Smiling and accommodating staff are always a pleasure to encounter. Very interesting and flavoursome menu. Service was quick, food excellent and coffee delicious. My go to the next time I visit Melbourne

I had Eggs Ciibi, I believe, perfectly poached eggs swimming in paprika oil and yougurt, totally delicious, however, felt the toasts were too hard, they were like rocks. And please improve on coffee, it could be better, it was very acidic.
