I was in the h hospital a week under the care of Dr Mok. I commend Dr Mok and his team(s). First of all, I had a complicated back procedure that went well. I was really scared. His team of anesthesiologist assured me I would be fine. They also assured me that they would make sure I had no nausea after the surgery which was apriblem for me with prior surgeries. I had NO nausea. There were 2 teams. One team was there to check on the surgical process and the other was there to keep on top of my pain meds. They both did an excellent job taking care of me. The nurses are another story! They were REALLY on top of my care. In fact, I have not had better care in any hospital as the care I received at Stanford. They all took such excellent care of me while I was there. I may forget their names but I will never forget their faces. The food was something else entirely. Instead of feeding patients crummy food that may not get eaten and most likely wasted, they have a beautiful menu with healthy, yummy food that can be ordered from 6am to 2am. The food was smart and cooked to perfection. Being able to eat when you are hungry is so much better for healing. We couldn't that the cafeteria enough for such quick service and the food was excellent. I have had 6 previous back and neck surgeries and was still in pain daily. Dr. Mok's surgical expertise and care put me in a much better place. I have minimal pain in my lower back where the surgery was performed. Unfortunately he could do nothing for my completely fused neck. I still have pain there. At my one year post op visit, I told Dr Mok I had been going down on my oral meds as well as my pain pump meds. His response was to ask me how I was with all of that. Well! I have really bad knee pain and can barely walk by the end of the day. I was walking 2+ miles per day. So Dr. Mok offered to do knee xrays and he would let me know by the next day if I have a problem. Well, I do. I have osteoarthritis in both, with more diagnoses and bone on bone. The left knee is worse but the right knee hurts down my shin like sciatic pain. So he said to get with my pain Dr where I live. I have had cortisone shots which are not working. So I am here st the site and I am going to find info about knee surgeries! My pain is worse and wakes me up at night. This is the best hospital and the most organized. I forgot to mention that the ortho care ws supreme also. Everyone was. And I am forever gratefully thankful for my experience there and the help I received.

Nurses Javier and Bill cared for me with extraordinary skill, compassion, and devotion. Bill leaves his family thousands of miles away to be there for patients like me offering not only knowledge, but healing hands and a kind heart. RN Alesia, our coordinator, went far beyond her responsibilities, making sure every detail was handled with care and that everything went even better than planned. Make no mistake these are not just professionals doing a job there. They are angels without wings, quietly changing lives, often without being seen. I will carry this gratitude with me forever.

Amazing Place, Fantastic People. Place where I was reborn two years ago. Best of the best Hospital I know. Edge of Medical Technology and Science combined with Magician Doctors, Surgeons, Nurses who are doing Miracles, keep people alive and help to recovery. Hats off. God Bless Stanford Hospital.

Warning don’t stay @ this hospital they treat you less than a homeless dog. They play games constantly. If you have cancer find a different hospital. All they do is milk your insurance. I’ve called nurse hour ago they send Lab girl to drain blood. Everyone work here petty. They lied said my meds wasn’t delivered. It shows time, date, & who signed. I’ve been here almost a month. Don’t take me outside for fresh air nothing. I caught one of their nurses going through my phone. Caught different nurse touching mt personal items. Woke up to one then standing over me staring @ me. Food isn’t good head nurse threatened me said I can’t order Uber eats. Said her nurse not going to get it for me. If you speak up for yourself they get angry start playing mind games.

Ordered my last meal before discharge hamburger. Meat wasn’t cooked all the way. Red all through the middle. I’m a cancer patient their food wasn’t good. Not healthy @ all. I ordered food couple days before discharge. Head Nurse said I couldn’t order anything again. Their community skills poor. Nice looking horrible care. Happy I’m discharge chemo from home. They kicked me out the hospital because I refused to be mistreated

Gave me another chance at life. Wouldn’t be here today without their exceptional talent knowledge bravery kindness compassion and respect Best Nurses / in the world down in the bone marrow transplant ward. Thank God there’s such beautiful souls as them in this world today. Whenever I am in a questioning place and wondering why bother everyone is just cruel, ugly, selfish, and mean spirited I get a tap on the shoulder and a visual of someone I encountered down there and my heart feels better and it washes away those bad thoughts and feelings. They are truly Angels

the 3rd floor is the most heavily trafficked -and where people (both visitors and employees) take their naps - some sleep overnight. this means these couches get a lot of usage if you know what i mean. gets a little grubby sometimes. the cleaning people are appreciated- but do they sometimes skip this area? gentle encouragement: 1) maybe replace the furniture here more often than other areas. 2) also, please ask the cleaning people to CLOSE the restroom door when they are cleaning them- as they repeatedly flush the toilets sometimes 5 or 6 times. all they have to do is close the door.

You know what I don’t understand is that I have been taking my sister there for years! She has a chronic illness does not drink smoke or use other outside substance for her pain but does need strong meds because Tylenol is t cutting it . If you’ve ever dealt with someone you love going through gastroparesis flares on top of kidney failure edema and type 1 diabetes it’s a lot and because she asks for specific pain meds she’s labeled as an addict.. like be serious!!! I guarantee if they could walk a day in her shoes they would not be able to last and would ask for pain meds on a daily basis!!! My sister doesn’t take pain meds every day even though she goes through pain everyday she does her best to only take it when her pain is uncontrollable. It’s really sad to see that other hospitals have been so understanding with my sisters condition but I don’t know but reading my sisters notes and summary in her health care app they wrote down she might be addicted to alcohol and asking her if she buys drugs off the street!! This is very upsetting and when she isn’t able to respond because of her chronic pain they literally fight down delusional or all these other things. If you are dealing with severe chronic illnesses I would not recommend Stanford. Too many student nurses and you become a study ! Yes there are amazing individual doctors and nurses that are very caring and are exceptional at what they do but lately it has just been awful!

MD Euan Ashley of Stanford's Sports Cardiology department was 1 hour and 45 minutes LATE to my appointment, supposedly due to an "emergency" that no one except himself could handle. As the patient, I was forced to 'cool my heels' fiddling with my cellphone in his exam room for much of that time, with his PA coming in a few times to go over my complaint and promise that the MD would be in "shortly". On the PA's last visit, she actually told me what the MD's diagnosis would be, even though the MD had not yet seen me! Now, if I were 1:45:00 minutes late to our appointment, I guarantee that the MD would not wait or make time to see me. When he finally entered the exam room, apparently having discussed a summary of my complaint with his PA and then after merely speaking with myself, doing no physical examination whatsoever, MD Ashley concluded that I did not have a real problem with the following nonsense statement. 'You might feel like you are short of breath at times and need to take a deeper breath but you don't really need to do so'! Huh? This is what I waited almost 9 months in an appointment that the MD was 1:45:00 late to hear? He continued to embrace and focus on this statement, repeating it a number of times, despite my incredulity and vociferous pushback where I suggested, referring to the old Groucho Marx quote "Who am I going to believe, you (MD Ashley) or my own lying eyes [body]"?. At the end of the visit, after 30 minutes of discussion and arguing, the doctor offered no further options. He did not propose any additional testing to attempt to get to the bottom of my ongoing complaint of intermittent shortness of breath and ignored my suggestions for possible actions that might be taken. Visit over, nice meeting you and then he had the temerity to offer to shake my hand! I declined. I have read about doctors who have told their patients that their particular illness was a manifestation in their minds but had never actually experienced anything like this personally. I was so stunned that I didn't know what to say that might be civil. Subsequent research reminded me that I had heard others complain of it and it had a name - GASLIGHTING! If anyone were to Google MD Euan Ashley, he comes across as the second coming of Jesus, clearly doing an excellent job (or his publicist) of managing his public profile. My experience after spending 1hour and 45 minutes waiting for him and then 30 minutes with him is completely opposite. I do not believe his profile is honest and would not recommend him to anyone unless, of course, they enjoy being gaslighted by someone who is rude, disrespectful and comes across as stubborn and arrogant.
