I have to go to Frankfurt at least 1x/year for a work thing. I know what I like and usually stick to the same places where I know my clients will have a nice meal. This year - I broke out of the box and tried some new spots.
Stanley Diamond is in a convenient location, easy to get to from the Messe, or the Hauptbanhoff. The decor is upscale, but not uppity. The prices are on the steeper side, so my expectations were high.
Overall I have no big complaints. The food was tasty and well-plated. I had stuffed mushrooms as a starter and mushroom halibut(? or was it sea bass ...?) whatever, it was fish with mushrooms in a nice sauce. Everything was a little over-salted for my taste, so I guess that's my little complaint. When you're working with lovely ingredients, let them sing - don't put too much salt or spice. Other than that, my group all enjoyed their meals. Two of our group got the pork with octopus and were RAVING about it. So maybe try that?
The wine list was good. They have a full bar, so get your cocktail on. The decor was edgy and cool - and our waiter was aloof but funny and kind of attentive, so props to that guy.
Will we go back next year? I don't think so. I'm glad I gave it a try, but meh, it didn't make the permanent rotation list. Soz guys.
