I honestly wouldn’t recommend Stanley, and here’s why. We went as a party of 7 and chose the banquet menu, expecting it to be well-portioned and satisfying for a group. Unfortunately, the portions didn’t make sense for the size of the table. We actually left hungry, which is disappointing considering the price point. The food itself was good, but nothing out of this world or memorable enough to justify the cost. For a banquet, I expected either more generous portions or dishes that truly stood out and it delivered neither. The biggest plus is definitely the location. The view of the Story Bridge is absolutely stunning and the setting is beautiful. However, when it comes to value for money, the experience didn’t match the price. Overall, great view, decent food, but not worth it for the cost especially for a group dining experience.

The service was average and the food was just okay, nothing special. We ordered the New Year’s Eve banquet but it wasn’t worth the price. The portions were small and at $120 per person we were still hungry afterwards. The dishes needed more creativity and variety, not just the usual sweet and sour and fried rice. While the view was nice it wasn’t worth the price.

Came for the yum cha banquet on a Sunday. Initially we were very impressed with the food as the three standard entrees arrived. Firstly the cold poached chicken was beautifully balanced with a soft silky texture, the ocean trout was so fresh and practically melted in your mouth and the cucumber and snow pea salad was a lovely palate cleanser- could not in any way fault those first three dishes. Unfortunately this is where we stopped being impressed - the duck and mushroom dumplings were dry and lacked flavour, the truffle dumplings had a great hit of truffle but the casing was thick and clumsy, the xiao long bao dumplings arrived broken meaning all the soup filling had leaked out prior to getting to the table, the prawn toast was overly oily and unpleasant resulting in most of it being left on the plate, the salt and pepper squid had a thick tasteless batter - although I will give credit as the squid itself was perfectly cooked, the lamb ribs had a great hit of cumin and weren’t too fatty and the prawn and chive rolls were nice. Service was efficient and friendly but disappointed to be paying $240 for a meal that left us feeling underwhelmed - the waitress did offer to speak to her manager which was appreciated but to be honest it wasn’t worth the bother.

Amazing food! The prawn dumplings, wagyu stir fry and "spicy tofu" very delicious. The waitstaff were helpful and efficient, always there when I needed them. What can I say about the atmosphere? Riverside dinning at its best! Highly recommend Stanley!

What an experience. We ordered a Banquet for four so we could experiment a variety of flavours which did not disappoint. One of my children cant eat gluten and the staff were fantastic. One of the easiest places when it comes to dietary requirements. They are very flexible too your food requirements, be it allergy related or other, which makes it more seamless when dining out with groups. Lea was our waitress. Very attentive, friendly and efficient. What an experience. We ordered the banquet for four so we could try a variety of flavours, and it didn’t disappoint. One of my children can’t eat gluten and the staff were fantastic. This was one of the easiest places we’ve been to when it comes to dietary requirements. Something I often notice when dining out is you order drinks, get your meal, and then nobody checks if you’d like another. Lea did, which meant we happily ordered more drinks while also increasing our average dollar spend. Smart move, Lea. In summary: a fantastic location, an atmosphere to die for, great service, and most importantly, excellent food. Thank you!

I had the most wonderful birthday celebration at Stanley Restaurant. I was able to host my friends, my children, and my partner, and everything was simply perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was fast and efficient, and the staff were incredibly happy, welcoming, and kind. They made me feel truly special on such an important day. I loved everything — 100% recommend. Thank you, Stanley, for making my birthday so memorable!

A beautifuly settled restaurant, right under the bridge at the river. The last one at the promenade in the old warth and post office! The outdoor table was quiet, as we could have nice conversations. The food was very delicious too!

We were from Melbourne and wanted to have a nice dinner with the city view. We didn’t have a reservation but the staff was kind enough to reserve a table for us in 45mins, so we waited at a rooftop bar nearby. The table they gave us had the story bridge and city view along the river, which was stunning. All the staff are friendly and patient, with a few even helping film a proposal that happened in the restaurant. However, for the price we paid, the food was a big disappointment. We ordered vegetarian fried rice, salt & pepper tofu and crispy eggplant. The fried rice was mediocre. Barely any ingredients and the flavouring not that interesting. Crispy eggplant was so-so. Crispy, yes. But too sweet and we definitely have had better. Lastly, the biggest disappointment is the salt & pepper tofu. There was no pepper, just mildly salty fried tofu. Expect the pay for the views and not for the food. Wouldn’t come back for the food, but giving 2 stars instead of 1 because all the staff were superstars and extremely helpful.
