Nice midrange accommodation at one of the north west's precious gems.
The Seaview Inn came up as an option when I was loyally browsing hotels.com and as it had a twin room, my hetero lifemate and I locked it in for our bestiversary trip away. The proprietor was lovely, and was happy to fetch us a couple of wine glasses for the nice drop we'd acquired from the good ol' Stanley Hotel.
Why is it that twin rooms are often the lamest? I feel of all the accommodation options at Seaview, the twin room was in the worst corner of the whole place. No Sea View for us, nope--we got to look into the neighbour's yard instead. Awkward.
However, we didn't let our shoddy view stop us, and instead grabbed the spare blankets from the cupboard (suggested by lovely proprietor) and made ourselves comfortable out on the bench at the front of the Inn with a bottle of red wine to ward off the cold, taking in the full glorious view of the Nut and the adorable little town gathered at its base.
I couldn't help but be jealous of the view that almost every other room here had, though. Oh well, live and learn! Next time we'll just have to bunk in together.
