We booked Group camping ground Area B. It was big enough for to put on 6, 5, 4, 2, and 1 person tents and still plenty of area left. As you can see in picture there is common fire pit, two picnic benches, three toilets (non flush and very stinky as well, so do your thing early in morning (less stinky) or bring a perfume spray or freshener with you if you are fussy about the smell) and one bush shower. On east side there is bore water which was little yellow but on communal area there is rain water which is clean. Be mindful that there is no drinking water. We had a good walk from campground to the nearby area/mountain, which was good. You can see kangaroo running around and also one of them pull out our bread while we were away. There were plenty of wood that you can collet to have your camp fire but always best to get some yourself. Mackenzie falls was about 30 min drive from there. It would have been better if we could have found campground nearby Halls gaps as it is a centre point to go to any attraction in Grampians. Thus, booking early is good. We booked on Nov end only for Dec end trip. I have to call multiple times to parks Victoria to get information so wrote this long so that first timer like me can get some information about the site. Happy to answer any question that I know. Thanks.

Had a lovely stay here. Good flat spot. Had a small camp fire. Was warm, great views of the stars and a nice cultural walk to look at aboriginal rock art.

Great Campsites with new drop toilets and also a bush shower if you have some warm water you could fill up the bucket with. Great views of the nearby Mt Difficult and the sunset really is something to see.

Lovely campground. Enormous group campsites with plenty of shade, a firepit and low tables. The firepits have bench seats around them, but you'll need your own chairs for the tables. Communally there are drop toilets and a bucket shower. BYO TP There is untreated rainwater tanks for washing your hands and dishes, but you need to bring your own drinking and cooking water. Two spectacular walks right from the campground trailhead. One is a 15 minute walk and includes Aboriginal rock art, and the other is a gorgeous 4 hour walk. Many more walks 10-25 minute drive away. 10 minute drive to the Hollow Mountain walk. About 30m to walk and scramble up the steep mountain. Unbelievably spectacular up there. 30m back down. Don't miss this one. Many kangaroos and wallabies around the campsite, with several tiny joeys, plus very noisy cockies. Bring earplugs if you like to sleep in. We were there Friday-Tuesday early December during glorious weather and we hardly saw any other people at the campsite. So few people meant plentiful wildlife. A hidden gem.

Stapylton is a great camping spot in the Northern Grampians. I've stayed here over 20 years, and it's massively evolved over that time. Toilets are in great condition, and there's bucket showers for very warm weather. There's amazing hiking and climbing at this end of the Grampians, and it's a little less crowded than Hall's Gap. Definitely recommend Mt Zero, and Mt Stapylton walks close to here. Both are amazing.

Lovely campground with wonderful views, wildlife in attendance, clean facilities access to aboriginal rock paintings and the Mount Stapylton loop walk, an excellent 13km walk.
