Star & Garter

My wife and I stayed in the 'crows nest' room. It was stunning with beautiful views over the harbour and a cute and cozy room. Location wise it couldn't be better for exploring the pubs and restaurants of falmouth. We particularly enjoyed the history of cornish surfing exhibit at the national maritime museum. Very impressed, realy felt like an escape despite only living 30mins away!

I absolutely loved staying here. The room was comfortable, clean and beautiful with a stunning view over the water. A very relaxing place to stay. In the morning their breakfast was potentially the best fry up I’ve ever had! 10/10 from me! I would 100% recommend to anyone and the staff are absolutely lovely! Can’t wait to stay again!

My current favourite place to stay in Falmouth! Solo trip in penthouse and then Fos’cle with hubby. The same great view. Lovely rooms with great location. The best nights sleep I had in a long time. Straight out onto the high street with a quiet setting. Beautiful 🥰

We stayed in “Penthouse “ and the name is accurate. It’s just an amazing small flat with one side all windows looking out over the water. It was clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Absolutely first rate experience including booking, key arrangements and ease of use

Amazing apartment with fantastic views. We parked easily a few minutes away even on a Bank holiday weekend, completely free. Spacious and in a great location for the amenities in Falmouth. At the quiet end of town so fairly tranquil. We would love to stay here again.

Easy access, modern stylishly decorated room, clean with good amenities, great view across the bay. Owners easily contactable. Also a good location for the Center of town, I f I have to travel to the area for work or pleasure again I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Beautiful apartment with great views. Location is excellent. A lot of stairs up to apartment. Tall people may struggle with the various roof levels. The armchair is disintegrating but I loved staying here. One day was enough as I am not tall but I found myself ducking my head in the bedroom and bathroom.

The perfect introduction to our first visit to Cornwall. After a very delayed train ride from London, we walked into accommodations that exceeded our expectations... the view, the size, two large bedrooms... who could ask for more? HIGHLY recommended!

The Star and Garter at the top of the high street in Falmouth is a real old boys pub, it's the home of the infamous Falmouth Marine Band and is a great place to go for a real ale. They have live acoustic acts every week and the whole back of the pub is walled by great big glass windows that allow a fantastic view out over the bay and all the moored boats. They also serve food which tastes good and is well priced, if your looking for a real locals pub and like talking to some real characters then the Star and Garter is the place to go, some great tales can be heard from the older sailors and fishermen that drink there.

This pub was recommended by another business owner in Falmouth when we were looking for a traditional pub in town. We were originally going to go the prince of Whales but were directed here instead. Unfortunately, this is not actually what we were expecting as this was a restaurant serving anything but traditional pub food. We were pretty disappointed but decided to stay anyway as we'd hiked up to the top of the hill and it was getting late. The chicken schnitzel and greens in marmite butter were delicious. However the charred fish was extremely bony and not very nice. The freshly made ice cream was ridiculously good as was the service, views, and cozy ambiance.

We came here for dinner. The food was fresh and the beer selection good. Service was A+.

The new owners have done an excellent renovation and kept the character of the building. Limited menu and beers but excellent food and drink. Bit of a hill climb to get here, at top of the High Street, but well worth it. Congratulations to all involved in retaining and making this old stalwart a new and satisfying experience.

Just popped into this wonderful pub while visiting the family. Great refurbished interior and a friendly well pulled pint! Great views!!!

Visited on Christmas Eve for the first time whilst visiting Falmouth and we were not disappointed in fact food, drink, staff and ambeince all brilliant. Will probably visit again before we go home on 3rd January

We had a wonderful Thursday evening there with live music of John Dale. Super.
