Star Castle Hotel

This is my 6th visit. As always everything perfect. Stayed in room 2 again which has a lovely seating area. ||The service is great at this hotel. ||Enjoyed the food. Although its very posh. Lovely bedding and towels. Love that spider always collects us from the airport and drops us back. ||My boyfriend organised flowers through reception this time which were lovely. ||We went swimming in the pool everyday at 7am and had the pool to ourselves. ||Next time I might try a garden room as they have outdoor seating. ||Hired a golf buggy for my boyfriend who has a bad back. although we covered the island parking can be some distance from places of interest and personally I found an electric bike hired in previous years more useful. ||Looking forward to returning in future

Stayed 4 nights. Main thing was most food was cold. Had to send food back to be reheated especially in the conservatory. Would mayb a good idea to use steak knives at dinner as knives are rubbish to cut meat Otherwise great stay. We never did learn how to switch on towel rail either despite asking numerous people. A small detail.

We celebrated a fantastic Birthday Meal in an historic atmosphere with friends. The staff were so attentive. We had issues with the menu simply with such wonderful varied choices it was hard to choose. The quality of the food together with its processing and production was fantastic - simply the best in all of Scilly. Well done Star Castle. Many thanks. Will do an Arnie (I'll be back lol)!!!

Our annual stay at the Star Castle. perfect base for our Scilly holiday. Everything from the staff to the food was wonderful as always. Lots of new staff this year but the service as always was top notch from the bar man through to the housekeeping. Will be back.

This has to be one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. We had a garden room with sea view & terrace, which was a lovely size with a nice big bathroom. Very comfortable. Close to the conservatory restaurant where we had been allocated to go for breakfast and for dinner on the first night. It would always have been our choice as it is so light and airy and the menu is full of delicious fish dishes. We had some completely wonderful scallops, sea bass and sea trout among other dishes. One night we ate in the castle restaurant (you can choose each day) and I had a completely fab beef wellington - a long time since I've had one as good as that. It does strike you as a bit gloomy in that restaurant after the conservatory, as all you can see out of the windows is the inside of the castle walls outside! But the service is just as good, even if it does seem a little more formal. All the food here is to die for. I told one of the waitresses in the conservatory that I was going to miss eating there each evening and she offered to photograph the menu each day and send it to me! Can you imagine the pain and anguish that would cause! I'm still missing it now some weeks later.||Everything is made easy for you here. We arrived from Tresco on a local boat and they met us at the Quay and took us with our luggage up the hill to the hotel at the top. When we left they took our luggage down to the Quay and put it in the container for the Scillonian to take it to Penzance, giving us the required labels etc. All that is left for you to do is to walk back up the hill at the end of each day's sightseeing, relaxing and generally holidaying on the islands. Can't wait to go back.

Excellent hotel, staff were friendly and attentive and the food is outstanding it is a bit of a climb/walk up a steep hill to the hotel from the town which is a draw back but it is worth it for the views and location of the hotel we stayed in a castle bedroom which was a bit quirky on different levels but very comfortable a more standard room is the garden rooms.

If you want to see how a kitchen and dining staff works at their best go to the Star Castle in St Mary's on the Scilly Isles. My wife and I wanted to try John Dory fish however it was not on the dining room menu for that night and the chef actually made sure he had some for our dinner reservation, and we were not even staying in the hotel. All the staff from the receptionist to the waiting staff were on point, very friendly and polite. From start to finish the whole meal went like clockwork . As for the food well it was beyond exceptional, what more can I say it was truly fabulous. Thank you very much for a fabulous end to our holiday.

Molly, Luke and Eloise were absolutely amazing||The food was absolutely superb, from starters all the way through to deserts !||The service was so attentive and quick, such polite staff so we are over the moon with the service ||Beautiful location

This place is Magical! Our accommodations were Excellent! Perfect for a family with kids. No words can describe the views! Traveled from the US, with no Check Card Visa issues to pay.
