"Visit the Kemah Boardwalk from Houston Kemah Boardwalk is a great day trip from Houston for groups and families. It takes about 45 minutes (20 miles) to drive there from downtown. You'll find amusement park-style entertainment, lots of restaurants and shops, and a seaside resort. It's a bit touristy, but excusable for an excursion to the Texas coast. Don't expect crystal blue water; this is the Gulf, after all. The boardwalk is also a short drive from the Johnson Space Center, so you could plan to do both in one outing. This place didn’t allow mobile order, and the service is zero star if I can be honest. Ive ordered the one venti and two grande drinks here today since the weather is painfully hot. We got in and the store is pretty quiet. We’re the only people in there and the cashier was at the til. She didn’t greet or anything, she went on with cleaning and organizing. So we waited for a couple of minutes for her to turn around and even give us time. She didn’t greet like any other Starbucks place. She took our order and her voice is so quiet that I had to ask her repeat it three times. She went and made our order right away which is good. But as we waited we noticed that our drinks were mostly filled with ice and the rest was poured in the sink. The person didn’t seem to be having a good day. Anyway, I asked for two ice water because we know there wasn’t enough liquid in the drink despite getting a venti or grade. We’re told we can only get one water. I paid for three drinks. Anyway, it’s our first time to experience a not so nice service at Starbucks most especially this is a tourist destination.

Dining Experience @ Starbucks. . Established in March 1971 in Seattle, Washington, United States Of America, by Gerald 'Jerry' Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker, Starbucks is an American multinational chain of coffeehouses. . Renowned for popularising the second wave of coffee culture worldwide, wherein a wider variety of personalised coffee experiences are offered; and for introducing the 'third place' concept - a public spot, that was not home or work, where you could connect with others over a shared activity. . Under the leadership of Howard D. Schultz from 1986 to 2000, Starbucks expanded aggressively worldwide, and today has over 40,000 outlets across 87 countries. . The Bacon Egg Breakfast Wrap (USD $6.75) features a chewy wheat flour tortilla wrap, packed with fluffy soft scrambled eggs, crunchy pork bacon, and tender slices of pork ham. This carries grainy meaty salty eggy sweet savoury flavour. . More filling than I expected, the Sandwich Grilled Cheese On Sourdough (USD $6.95) has gooey melted gruyere cheese between crisp crunchy toasted sourdough bread. Has a nice smoky bready sweet cheesy salty savoury flavour. . Love the Muffin Blueberry Streusel (USD $3.75), which has a firm crisp exterior crust and a fluffy soft interior. Warm and studded with juicy blueberries, the muffin has fragrant bready fruity sweet flavour. . Brewed with sustainably-sourced, 100% arabica coffee beans, their Coffee Long Black (USD $4.45) has a light texture with robust toasty earthy bitter flavour. . Brewed with sustainably-sourced, 100% arabica coffee beans, their Coffee Flat White (USD $4.95) has a foamy texture with robust toasty earthy milky flavour. . Their Hot Chocolate (USD $3.45) is thick and velvety smooth, with rich deep chocolatey bitter sweet earthy flavour. Additional lashings of chocolate sauce enhance this comforting beverage.

I ordered an unsweetened drink but received one that was sweet and topped with whipped cream. I returned it completely full, simply because it wasn’t what I ordered — not to take advantage. Unfortunately, instead of a quick and helpful fix, I found myself having to argue just to get a fresh drink made correctly. It was a frustrating experience, especially over something that could’ve been resolved easily. A more understanding and customer-focused approach would’ve made all the difference. Being argumentative only reflects poorly on the staff and the overall experience.

This is to all customers *- Every starbucks franchise has it own policy. This store is franchise so they WONT GIVE FREE WATER. They are part of amusement park and they sell foods and beverages. Don't yell at the baristas if they are just following the policy. Don't trash the place and don't clog restrooms. Have some money and patience with you when you visit this park on high peak season because it's gonna be crowded and no free parking. The 2 lines just to get drinks here are long outside the door. Keep your patience and enjoy the visit. To all workers: Keep it up. Don't stress to much from all the rude people. You doing your best. Stay strong and happy 😊. Kudos!

Google
This is my favorite Starbucks. The staff is so friendly. Helps me makeup new drinks that I like. Fixes mine when I drop them at work. Fixes my drinks when they're made poorly at other locations

I bought 2 coffees here, but my daughter couldn’t drink coffee so I asked for a small cup of ice water. I asked for one more since it was too small, but they refused and had a bad attitude. Poor customer service.

Google
Had a delicious coffee and egg bites in the morning. The bacon egg bites are my favorite!!! Don’t visit too often but I do like this location. Staff is amazing! Always pleasant and helpful!

Yelp
I'm sure this place has low ratings bc it's a small Starbucks on a very busy place and people are easily impatient, BUT her name is Keysha (sorry if I misspelled) and she is an ABSOLUTE DOLL OF A PERSON. She was so fun, kind, and helpful! I asked for extra hot and she delivered. A queen!!

Yelp
It was an extremely hot day and after taking a quick walk through the boardwalk, we stopped by to cool off and get a cup of iced water. The barista rudely stated that they don't give out waters and directed us to the bottled waters available to purchase. I was ready to buy a drink so I could get a water on the side for us but they didn't deserve my money because of how rude that woman was. I was drenched in sweat and needed something quick to cool off but nope. I also attempted to wait in line to get to the bathroom but the people in there took forever so we just left empty handed. I'm surprised they didn't ask us to leave for using their A/C for free. Terrible, terrible people that run this store. Avoid at all costs. Take your business somewhere else.

Yelp
My family and I ordered about 5 drinks, we also asked for water, and was told we only can have one water per order. It's 106 degrees outside, if I'm ordering multiple drinks, why can't I have waters as well. Someone definitely needs to reevaluate this policy.

Yelp
The kids working here seem to be confused or just inept. Croissant delivery from the counter to customer takes 3 tries. Is it possible to give 0 stars?

Yelp
Delicious quick stop for a refreshing beverage and plenty of little snack options and boxed lunch items for a lunch.

Yelp
Barista was not welcoming and talked amongst her co workers for a while before "saying what do you want !". Barista who handed me the drink she was rude and short with me . I mentioned I had ordered 2 cups of water and pointed out to the second one clearly I see with my name on it . She said it's not yours looked at the label and poured it in the sink in front of me . Baristas did not act in a professional manner .

Yelp
My cold brew was warm and the staff wasn't as friendly as I am used to at other locations. I will probably only come here again if I'm desperate.

Yelp
Stopped into the Starbucks for a refreshing drink and a handful of cake pops for my kids and my nieces and nephews as it was over 104 outside. The line took so long. I stood there with two people in front of me for a solid 15-20 minutes. Full wait of 32 minutes upon entering and ordering. I asked for two cups of water and I was told that if I wanted water - I had to either purchase something or purchase a bottle of water. As the Kemah rules are "1 grande cup of water per purchase" and I asked for 2. I spent over $26 dollars on cake pops and was told no to two cups of water. On top of the giant wait. It was very annoying, but I ended up buying bottle water anyway because it's HOT in Texas. Overall, the place was clean and looked nice. I just personally didn't have a good experience with the ladies tude and wasn't very happy that I had to spend $4 for a bottle of water. If anything charge me for the plastic cup.

Yelp
I was surprised to see a Starbucks at the Kemah Boardwalk. Since it was a cold night and we had time to kill, we went in to grab some of their holiday drinks. There was quite a line as we walked in. At first, I didn't mind the long line as I saw that this Starbucks was quite stocked up on Starbucks' souvenirs. I then realized that the line was not moving as it should. Getting closer to the register, I saw what was pretty common at most Starbucks. A clueless first-time barista and one that look very confused on how to handle the register. I ordered a tall hot green tea latte. However, it did not taste like how a green tea latte should taste. I opened the cup and saw how foamy it was. My all-time favorite Starbucks drink was bland and the latte didn't even filled up the cup despite it only being a tall. On the bright side, I like their holiday cup design. Besides the disappointment, the inside was pretty small, barely anywhere to sit. We ended up sitting outside in the cold. I sure enjoy sipping my tasteless hot green tea latte after waiting in line for it.

Yelp
Well a typical Starbucks! There good for about everything except that they get so busy and not enough help. Thanks for hurrying.

Yelp
Nice location. Friendly and quick service. Especially on an early Sunday morning. Oddly enough they offer a LOT of flavors (I assume leftover or over stock) that most other location do NOT carry half way through the season. So if you're still craving pumpkin spice this is the place.

Yelp
Starbucks is AMAZING I have been a huge fan for years! This particular location is awesome! The employees are always friendly and I appreciate that! Thanks $ !!!

Bhebz L.

Yelp
Poor customer service I purchase 3 ventis and asking for extra small cup and they told me that I have to purchase something again to get an extra cup. Come on people as you can see there's a long line and you want me to go back again to that line and wait for your slow service? ‍
google avatar

Yelp
This location is just full of unprofessional, immature and illogical people. This store should be audited and all staff members should retrain for sanitation and customer service. Customer satisfaction should be at the forefront which you ALL failed to do. If one person really stood out to me is Dani. You're a horrible and immature staff member. You know what you did and how you treated your customers. You also need to understand that your ugly attitude shows through your body language and that mask doesn't hide the bad looks you pass to your customers. All of you should be ashamed of yourself and your supervisor and store manager should he ashamed to have a crew like all of you.

Yelp
Came here to study and realized that a passcode was required, so I bought the cheapest thing on the menu ($3) and got the wifi password. Plugged in my headphones and went on youtube to play some pink noise and block out the sound. Turns out they've blocked youtube videos being played and every other website with audio. Fuck this shit stain drink shop.

Yelp
I am a long time customer of Starbucks...longer than the ages of the kids working at this location...and this location needs CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. After purchasing a lemonade drink, I went to the restroom and came back out to ask for a cup of ice water. In most locations, if they don't offer it for free they would say that "its 50 cents for the cup" or something NOT "we don't give out water"...and then follow it up with "we don't give out water without a purchase". After I assured them I did make a purchase they finally gave me one...what the heck...I didn't even have the chance to say "I will pay for it".... In addition, I'm not sure what they put in my "green tea lemonade" but I do not taste the green tea and it not lemonade...more like grapefruit for $5.36...I only live 30 minutes away and came down for day trip...sadly I will not be returning to this location

Yelp
Not my usual Starbucks, only one that I would consider visiting if I visit Kemah Boardwalk, which is only when relatives or friends visiting from out of town and wanting to catch some sea breeze without having to go further down into Galveston, some shopping and amusement park (lite) action. This location sits pretty close to the side of the road coming in and out of the Boardwalk. Like any other Starbucks, it serves coffee and pastries. And like any tourist attraction coffee shops, they can receive waves after waves of traffic depending on the times of day. The store is a bit on the smaller side with limited seating inside with more seating outside, which is typically where they'd expect one to do (buy your drink and go sit out, getting some air, go explore, etc.). The inside space becomes a premium on colder days and can sometimes get crowded when that happens and an excess amount of people jammed into tight spaces. Restrooms can build up some lines, and if they somehow really enforce the customers only policy, I can see some tension build up between staff and customers. Being in a touristy location, I can see the staff being under a lot of stress, and it is kind of what I am observing during a few of my most frequent visits. The staff looked tired and mostly uninterested in conversation with the customer and don't really smile a lot. Seems to be a sign where employees are not getting enough rest. This location does not have a Drive thru, nor does it seem to accept mobile orders. In a location such as this, I can only imagine how much more stressful things can be if it has those features. At least it is still taking the Starbucks cards. If you go, expect to know what you are getting as you get in line, there is no patience from the staff or the people behind you waiting for you to hmm and huh about what to get. Probably needs a bigger store space and better staff hour management.

Yelp
Love this Starbucks! Yes the building is much smaller than a typical Starbucks location. However people should understand that Starbucks is popular and they get busy. The staff were super friendly and I waited in line not that long.
google avatar

Arie M.

Yelp
This is a nice Starbucks actually and though their prices seemed a little higher than "normal" starbucks locations, it's actually a decent value considering the location in the Kemah Boardwalk and they still honor your Starbucks card. I'm not sure how they are during the week so I'd imagine they're probably just a regular starbucks during that time too but for me it was a nice little resting spot to get away from the boardwalk while there to see the boardwalk.
google avatar

Yelp
The baristas were friendly, nice, and I didn't have to wait long for my drink but bathrooms and facility was unkept and not clean at all. One of the toilets didn't flush and the other one was pretty gross. Water pressure was really low even to wash your hands. Customers left their trash all over the place outside in the sitting area and tables weren't wiped down. There was tons of cups everywhere. I think they were having a hard time keeping up with the crowds that kept coming in and out. I have NEVER seen a Starbucks so trashed out before. The sad part is that it would be a cute little location and has a little coffee shop vibe but it was full of trash. And not a lot of seating inside or outside. They had a few little table with chairs outside, but they all had peoples trash on them.
google avatar

Julianne D.

Yelp
Wow. I realize as to why this location's reviews suck so bad. The cashier proved to be incompetent as she did not know what a cold brew was nor agave. It was only the cashier there and the person who was making the drinks. I asked for a vanilla frappucino for my daughter and they failed to put whipped cream on it. When asked, it proved to be an inconvenience to the barista as she had an attitude.

Kayla G.

Yelp
Jacob, tbs barista working the cash register was nice and tried to be helpful. Too bad the rude manager with shaved sides and man bun was extremely rude for no reason. Try replacing him with someone who welcomes customers in a family friendly environment like the boardwalk.
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
I would give it no star ambit I can't, when I ordered green tea I expected it to be like real green tea you get anywhere but no!! It tasted like it was asparagus and broccoli and spinach all grinder up together
google avatar

Carmen R.

Yelp
They did not have the proper ingredients for strawberries and cream drink had to get the pink drink which was full of ice.

Victoria D.

Yelp
They don't know their own product. They don't even open until 7. We showed up at 6:58 and the door was locked and no hours were posted so we left only to find out later we could have waited two minutes. Entirely frustrated.
google avatar

Chloe A.

Yelp
They refused to give me a venti water even after i said i would pay for it. Then once i got my small water there was a BUG in the lid! They didn't even apologize for it, and they were very rude.
google avatar

Johnny M.

Yelp
I must agree with other yelp reviews. This location falls short of what the Starbucks experience should be. It is a busy location, I get it, but if you as a barista, are going to give the customers a bad attitude and a crappy experience along with it, you should consider not working here. We as customers don't need to see your foul-mouthed whispers as we are looking right at you.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
*EDITED* i just went back today and they have built a rollercoaster right behind the place which is kinda er, uh unique? im not sure if it is causing any major noise pollution, i didnt hear anything. Also, i was looking at the set up of tables and i think they have the most tables ive ever seen at a starbucks..something like 12 tables on the inside and 15 outside WOW.. it seems that is one of my main concerns at many of the other locations-i want to sit and enjoy my coffee but all the tables are taken because they are pressed for space..well, you will definitely not run into that problem here.. Weekend nights i wouldnt even think about coming here though because there is just too much boardwalk traffic.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
This is a great little Starbucks if you need to meet someone. It is never too loud inside since the place is so small. There is a comfortable sofa area to stretch out on. The employees are friendly and actually understand your order, or they ask for clarification rather than just doing whatever is easiest for them. The outside is also fun to sit and people-watch at the carnival that passes you by. There are plenty of tables and they are spaced far enough apart that you can have a serious conversation if need be. Or you can make sarcastic comments about the people sitting around you - both are fun. This is a great thing to have for people who want to be in Kemah but don't want a restaurant or a bar.
google avatar

Troy K.

Yelp
Ok so it's a Starbucks. You know what to expect. This one however is really nice. The landscaping outside is very well laid out with a tropical feel to it. They have some tables outside in the shade. If you go during the morning or in the off season you will not face any crowds and it is very relaxing. The barista's are great and know what they are doing. Of course the wifi is free. The only problem I have is that this Starbucks is owned by Landrys. You can't load your Starbucks card here. You can still use it though. All in all one of the nicest Starbucks in the area(as long as it is early or in Off season). - 1 star because I despise the entire Landrys company. At least they did not screw up this Starbucks like the do every other place they run or buy out.
google avatar

Tee H.

Yelp
This is the cutest Star Bucks I have ever visited! I have been to a few! This one though has a lot more character . I can't decide if it's because it's on the Kemah Boardwalk or just some of the detail they put into the inside and outside. Off Season is the best time to come if you don't really want the crowds. Nice , n friendly staff.
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
Poor customer service! Requested a cup of water and they didn't want to offer it. 1 transaction per cup of water. I asked for a refund and left and took my business elsewhere!

Barbara F.

Yelp
I ordered a dragon drink and I got a cup of ICE and 1/4 of drink after asking for easy ice. I asked for a Venti Water and they said they only give a tall water per drink you order RIDICULOUS first Starbucks that tells me that whoever is the person managing this business is stingy because no Starbucks ever has had that policy even in better tourist areas like Miami. Oh btw it's boiling hot in there and the manager is rude. Go to another Starbucks I'm sure the facility will be cleaner and the people nicer.
google avatar

Patrick G.

Yelp
Server behind counter had a dull attitude. Wasn't rude or anything just very bored or uninterested to be working and just said " what do you want." And made everything fast enough and it tasted fine but still just not a good experience. Not that everyone has to be happy to serve me it just still seemed like an off experience
google avatar

JoAnne C.

Yelp
Went here Sunday and it was 100 deg. Won't give Trenta water to people who is thirsty. Can't use your rewards. Manager was rude and was gonna call security because we were trying to ask why they can't use rewards. This particular store is a trash in customer service. Ridiculous rules. Putting Starbucks name bad because of your location existence. !!!!

Ddc C.

Yelp
It's suck. He told me i have to buy something to have a cup of water, when i show him my drink then he said he didn't make it. A young boy, oh yeah young and dumb.
google avatar

Christopher L.

Yelp
I thought water was free at Starbucks but the Kemah Boardwalk location tells otherwise. They refused to offer me water without a purchase in which made my time being there an awful experience. The cashier was very unfriendly and I recommend not to bother placing an order for something that is free. Thank you!
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
This Starbucks is really nice specially since it's right on the Kemah Boardwalk - so convenient! But make sure you auto reload your gold member card before hand, because they can't reload it for you. The baristas were so nice and gave my kids samples and made them caffeine free frappuccinos!
google avatar

Nichole W.

Yelp
Rude when we first entered the building. Didn't welcome us at all. When i approached the counter the girl asked very rude "what can i get you?" Set the receipt down and said "sign here" but didnt give me a pen. Asked her for a pen and she ignored me and started making the drinks. Handed me the double shot espresso without a lid. When I asked for one she put it on the cup but put her finger right on the hole to drink from. Asked for a lid she hadn't put her finger on the hole and she huffed about it. Not even a thank you or have a nice day. And there were 3 employees working and no other customers. I expect much more from Starbucks as I used to be a Starbucks manager.
google avatar

Dave K.

Yelp
Super slow. A lot of standing around looking at each other. I usually expect very little from Starbucks because where else would all of the over educated liberal arts majors get a job and get out of their Moms basements... At least part time? They really don't care in the least about customer service.

Claudia E.

Yelp
This has been by far the worst experience I've had in my entire life coming to a Starbucks. My husband and I were staying in line to order right by the display counter and noticed there was a mosquito inside where the bread is, I said to him ok we are not ordering any of that! As the line moved up I noticed that the breakfast sandwiches they had were coated in MOLD!! And I get it, they are for display only but I don't think they should have mold!!! At that moment I was regretting my decision of coming in for coffee but I said to myself...ok the coffee might be different. I placed my order, then the barista took the order of the person behind me, they paid cash, the barista touched the cash, and then started making the drinks.....DIDNT WASH HER HANDS....and that is where it all made sense.... this place was so gross. I'm sorry but it is unacceptable.

Lauryn G.

Yelp
We purchased four items that totaled $16 and asked for two ice waters for my 3 & 6 year old. The Barista told us she could only give us one water per transaction. If we had purchased our 4 items separately, she said she could have given us four waters but because we purchased them together, she could only give us one. Pretty shameful service to two young children on a 90+ degree day. Never returning to this location again!
google avatar

Tatiana L.

Yelp
Well.... who doesn't love Starbucks. Unfortunately, this location got it all wrong. First they got my order all wrong. I asked for Cappuccinos and I was served frapuchinos. Then, the staff went on to talk about how they didn't get the order wrong, it was me who order the wrong thing. Finally, my drink was a water down version of coffee of mostly milk and foam. I understand when a business is busy, this one it particular was not. Nonetheless, staff should keep it professional and friendly, and not talk about the consumer in an open space and then serve the worst Starbucks drink I've tried. Kemah board walk location get your stuff straight and improve this service.

Kale W.

Yelp
Refusal of water when I purchased a separate drink.... with attitude and poor service. I agree with all the other reviews and they need to get their act together.

Gaby H.

Yelp
I was refused a cup of water and I'm not sure if that is a policy they have so I had bought a Starbucks cup and I quote " the cup will let you have refillable water for free".... I come in another time and they refuse to give me water in the cup. I asked why and all they said is " new policy sorry" but where is the paper? I did not see any signs posted up. I asked for a small cup of water then and they denied me too. As I waited for my group to leave I saw others walk out with cups of water. Now indeed I did purchase something else so I'm not sure why I was refused. This is not the first time this is happened and if this is going to continue then they need to be more clear and put signs up, as well as not selling the cups if they can't provide the drinks.

Huy P.

Yelp
It took 30 mins to prepare my Pesto while the shop had 2-3 customers seating. I had to ask them a few times for them to get it done. They called out my order with different name which I not expected. Once I walked out; they laughed so hard within my hearing ranch. What's a joke! Visited date and time: 9/1/2019, est. 10:15am
google avatar

Aidan B.

Yelp
i really have no way to explain how bad my experience here was. first of all i had no cash and no card so i had my starbucks card, apparently since this isn't a "real" starbucks they didn't take starbucks cards and i couldn't use my stars or free drink here. then after getting my friend to pay they had a very bad atmosphere AND gave me the wrong drink, like i literally ordered a completely different drink with no milk and of corse there was milk in it, this is coming from someone who is lactose intolerant so thanks for poisoning me starbucks... love ya.
google avatar

S T.

Yelp
This place is so busy but they have good specials all the time. This weekend on Saturday I went for buy one get one free Frappucinos. Sunday, we got buy one get one free Chai Latte. I have never experienced that at another SB, just saying.. This one ROCKS!!
google avatar

Aaron D.

Yelp
Horrible management toward the employees, they get very side tracked with talking to each other, forgot about half my order and it took 15 minutes with it being slow.
