The staff are nice and seem to know their work well enough, as the drinks I order are quite good, when I can actually get them. Today, though, instead of enjoying a premium coffee (misto), the app reported the store was out of product to make my order. Ditto on a number of cold-brew and other specialty drinks on the menu.
My problem with this store is that, apparently, management can't keep the store stocked to meet demand. Time and again, I'll order on the app only to find I can't get what I want. Today, there's no almond milk, also whatever is needed for a lot of the cold brews. Tomorrow, I expect that it will be some other thing that ought to be available. Last time, and quite commonly, this store runs out of breakfast items when it's still breakfast time (e.g. 9:00 a.m.). Today, the delicious egg whites sous vide is already unavailable. Frustrated, again.
I remain impressed though, by what a money-maker this store is. People love what SB offers: excellent coffee, imaginative premium coffee drinks, and exceptional food items that distinguish it from other places, all reliably served nationwide. It's just a great concept. Imagine if it were stocked well enough with menu items, sales through the roof!
In my wife's company, a Subway quick-serve restaurant franchise, if the store runs out of product, the manager get counseled, by my wife. If the problem persists, the owners will discharge the manager. A single instance of running out of bread is instant termination.
I'm sure SB has the sales predictor tools to staff and supply the store better, here's to hoping this improves. Love the coffee, love the people, I know you can manage better. Cheers!
