Starhotels Anderson (Milan, Lombardy) 23 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There are hotels in Milan which are more centrally located than the Starhotels Anderson, and which inhabit more picturesque settings than this modern glass building around the corner from the central rail station. But not at this price. The Anderson secures an affordable, convenient, yet not at all uncivilized or unstylish entrée into what can at times be a forbiddingly expensive city." - Tablet Hotels

Thanks for taking time to write the reply. I mentioned to keep the reservation when your team vaguely responded to me that i would be under penalty and never mention how much that would be in that view i said keep the reservation bc i didn't knew what to do at that moment of crisis. Also In my review i have no where mentioned about management not responding or not being transparency i wrote about how your management choose profit of one night charges over family crisis. Review Title: ZERO Empathy – Profiting from a Family Crisis (Passport Theft) Rating: ⭐ (1/10) Stay away from this hotel if you value human decency. My family and I were victims of a crime where our passports were stolen while traveling between Switzerland and Italy. This was a genuine, police-reported emergency that made it physically impossible for us to cross the border and reach the hotel on time. We reached out to the hotel immediately, expecting even a small amount of "goodwill" or flexibility. Instead, they showed zero empathy. They refused to offer a partial refund or even a credit, hiding behind "terms and conditions" and the fact that they marked us as a "no-show" to keep our full payment for a room that was empty. It is truly disappointing to see an establishment in a hospitality industry act so callously toward a family in distress. I had heard a reputation that some establishments here prioritize a single night's profit over acting humanly, and this hotel proved that stereotype to be 100% true. They are more interested in taking your money than helping a guest in a crisis. Do not book here. If anything goes wrong with your travel—no matter how serious or out of your control—this management will show you no mercy and will happily take your money and leave you stranded.

We spent a very pleasant weekend in this hotel. All the staff were kind and professional, the equipment and cleanliness of our room were impeccable, and the location of the hotel is a perfect starting point for sightseeing. We heartily recommend it to everyone visiting Milan.

The location of the hotel is unbeatable! The staff was extremely warm, courteous and helpful. The bed linen and quality of pillows was excellent. One of the best I've ever experienced in Europe. Would definitely visit again.

The hotel was average but quite practical in its location. I feel the photos are much better than the reality of the hotel. I felt the breakfast room was a bit sad, and the choices just ok- not great. When I asked the waitress for a coffee creamer, she said they didn’t have any. They only had milk. Interestingly there were coffee creamers in the room itself. The decoration of the room needed updating.

Good central location Opposite centralo station|Helpful friendly staff |Clean comfortable rooms |Stylish interior |Plugs and light switches a bit alarmingly loose |Breakfast good |Only access into hotel is down steep steps so be aware if not very mobile. I currently have gammy knee and found this an issue |There is a back ramp ( tradesman’s entrance) you can ask to use |Lift a bit temperamental. One broken other stopped working on one day so had to use staff lift. Again be aware if not fully mobile |Would recommend as a base as long as you don’t have mobility issues

Staff do not know how to smile. No air Conditioning in the room. Not well maintained; bathtub fills up with water when you shower, it is clogged. Parking is 8 minutes away and charges more than displayed on the website. Breakfast has very limited choice. Won’t stay there another time.

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience at this hotel. I originally booked two nights, but due to urgent matters I could only stay for one night. On the evening before check-out, I called the front desk and received a clear confirmation that I would only be charged for one night. Based on that confirmation, I adjusted my travel plans. However, when I checked out the next morning, the front desk completely went back on their word and told me that cancellations require one day’s notice. After a long discussion, they finally agreed that I would be charged for only one night. But later, when I checked my credit card statement, I found that I had still been charged for two nights. When I contacted the hotel to resolve this, the manager responded with a very poor attitude, strongly siding with the staff and refusing to acknowledge the issue. This kind of contradictory, irresponsible, and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, especially from a so-called four-star hotel. I will never stay here again, and I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who values honesty, fairness, and proper customer service.

Yelp
We stayed here twice 9/20/24 & 9/28/24 for one night. This hotel is conveniently located across the street from the train station. I noticed the reviews for this hotel are like 9 yrs or more ago. When entering the hotel you go down a flight of stairs. There's a buzzer at the entrance that will buzz for a bellman to help with luggage. The front desk staff were kind and professional. We were given our room promptly which was nice since we had such a long travel day. We preferred the room we stayed in the 2nd time we stayed overnight because it was more spacious. The rooms were clean & beds were comfortable. The decor was modern which I appreciate since some hotels in Italy have that old vintage look. There's a small bar area on the first floor next to the elevators. The bartender was attentive and kind. The breakfast they offer in the morning was the usual items and was okay. I just had the hot tea.

Yelp
What a warm welcome to Italy. After an overnight flight to JFK we checked in to this delightful hotel. It has a boutique feel and has a modern edge while retaining character and warmth. The staff has been very helpful - from luggage assistance to electric converters. Best of all it's literally right across the street from the train station so our early departure to Venice should be a breeze. (And we are looking forward to the breakfast buffet to start our next day - the reviews on it are fabulous). The train station also is the key to the Metro which was a breeze in seeing some sights. There's also a great Supermarket there where we stocked up on some bottled water and treats. Now it's off to bed in our clean and comfy room. Thanks to Star Hotels for getting our journey to begin so nicely!

Yelp
A lovely design hotel with very comfortable room, nice bathroom and overall very friendly ambiance. The breakfast is of a really good quality with sufficient selection. The hotel is right next to the main train station but thanks to the soundproof windows it is very quiet. The location is excellent

Yelp
On our first night the fan in our room rattled all night long. Requested a new room next morning and the desk staff (Francesco) was obviously annoyed with us. Never apologized or offered to help move our bags. So the next room was smaller than the upgraded room that we paid for and the AC was not working correct -too hot in room. WiFi is horrible. Signal extremely weak, could not stream video, and had to re-login every 4-8 hours. My first and last experience with Star Hotels. Too many quality hotels in Milan to tolerate unfriendly staff and poor wifi. Not sure how they rate themselves as a 4 star hotel.

Yelp
Very good 4 star hotel. Very modern boutique styling. Do not confuse this Starhotel, with the other one on the other side of the road, which is not as nice. Very good location next to Centrale FS train station. However the general area does seem to attract the 'down and outs' in the small park over the road. It is also very easy to reach on the Metro Line 3. There are also buses that go to Malpense Airport at the station.

Yelp
Had a great stay. Perfect location next to Central Station. Hotel was decor reminded me of Las Vegas, not in a bad way. Room clean and spacious for Europe. Had a nice basic little gym. Overall, good stay. Cute breakfast room. I've also stayed at the Starhotel Echo across the street, which was more updated and I preferred but more expensive.
