I can't believe I'd never been into this place before...and it's probably a good thing it's a new discovery, because otherwise I'm sure I would have already spent hundreds of dollars there. Pre to Post Modern (as indicated by its name) is full of both completely neat vintage furniture and clothes as well as very modern, beautifully designed new furniture and art.
On the right side of the store are what you might call "Pre-Modern" wares. They have old ashtrays, dining room sets, Western shirts, posters, ceramic figures, paintings, typewriters and more. Most of this stuff is relatively inexpensive, and you can find everything from amazing old Beatle boots to ashtrays straight out of the '50s shaped like camels.
On the left side of the store are the "Post-Modern" items. These include very cool chairs (shaped like everything from dogs to crumpled pieces of paper), lamps, clothes and more. Most of these items are more expensive than the vintage goods, but I wanted to buy everything there and decorate my house with it.
In addition to home decor items and clothes, Pre to Post Modern also has some records, books, lighters, and belt buckles. Their staff is very hip and friendly, and their prices are pretty affordable. Today I bought a large, super modern-looking ashtray/trashcan for $18 and a small "citrus" ashtray (shaped like an orange) for just $5. There were about four dozen other items I was interested in (including an original circa 1976 poster of Farah Fawcett for $20). GO TO PRE TO POST MODERN, but be prepared to leave having bought several extremely cool items.
