Starling Hotel Lausanne

Stayed here for 2 nights as this hotel is very close to business school. It looks modern and well established. Easy check in/out with friendly and helpful services from the staffs. Room is excellent, spacious and luxurious feel. Come with pillow choices as well. Very comfortable for good night sleep.|Another big plus is the parking. Not sure if convenient without cars. |Breakfast is so-so. I think it can be better given the high standard it is projecting. Dinner is good, close to fine dining prices but not exactly justify that with the environment. Great service nonetheless.|They also offer free shuttles should you need to go to central. Much needed for those without cars.|All in all, it is great for short stay!

Some way out towards the University epfl. The room was much better than expected and service at the check in was very friendly and fast. The room was very affordable. The breakfast is good but if you are a vegetarian then there are less options. The restaurant serves good food in the evening and it was much better than I expected. The food is Italian style. I will return here another time when I am in the city.

We stayed a bit outside Lausanne for budget reasons and it was a quick drive to all the key locations. ||Disliked: No separate conditioner.

The looked good, the bed was good. However, also several things in the room were not up to par, and the service was not always friendly/helpful.|In the room two of the lamps didn't work, after showering the floor at the toilet got wet (although there's a wall in between). Information in the room regarding breakfast and breakfast times were lacking. Housekeeping cleaned the room but didn't take the tray with room service breakfast.

Nice hotel, good service, good staff. Rooms are nice and modern, but some small issues like my shower room had water leaks to the toilet. The shuttle service was excellent.

Very nice hotel! Kind service! The rooms are super nice! Very clean and spacious! The location is great! Right next to the lake and close to the metro and the bus!

The hotel has perfect location if you have a business stay at EPFL campus. However the quality is far from 4 stars. The room was clean. There is not enough hangers, especially for coats at winter. There is no iron to iron your shirt after travel. Shower leaks to toilet and rooms are designed a for couples (regarding bathroom) so you need 2 rooms if you travel with a colleague. The breakfast is poor, eggs were cold, smashed eggs were like from powder, baguettes are the worst than the ones from lidl, croissants are just small and not very tasty. Moreover, they charged me 35CHF for breakfast upon check-out, even though everywhere they write it is 25chf!!!!!!! And for this price I had to stand in a queue for the only coffee machine every morning. Extremly expensive, not worth the money.

This hotel is very convenient for us as our son studies in EPFL and lives close by. Decent hotel at a very reasonable price I the area. Breakfast is a bit expensive for the spread. There is a nice bar at the Hotel Lobby. Most rooms have a view or at least partial view of the lake. The staff is polite and helpful.
