Clean, comfortable and very convenient - right in the train station and minutes to the main town. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We arrived in the morning from Oslo, the front desk secured our luggage in locked storage while we headed out for the day. Complimentary. coffee (delicious) and tea available and my son loved the waffles! We had dinner at the cozy restaurant and it was very good, nice portions (the small size Norwegian meatballs dinner was more than enough but if you are really hungry they also have med/large portions) and reasonable price. They offer a kids menu and my son enjoyed his pasta. Menu had everything from traditional to pasta, burgers, and sandwiches. Nice selection of local beers. Breakfast was also good with plenty of options and amazing fresh breads. We had a nice size room and it was clean and quiet. Highly recommend!!

Lovely hotel stay for a few days this fall 2024. Attentive, effecient check in with a smile. Room and bath room was fairely spacious. Crisps white sheets, room had a nice train station view . Norwegian breakfast with seafood including Salmon , 3-4 types of crusty bread loaves. Cold cuts of meat. Juice of Apple as well as Oranges. Cuban cchef mafe perfect egg snd bacon Tea selection and cofee.

Every staff on site are all so friendly and helpful, before my stay and throughout - also thanks Geir for answering my never ending questions for skiing etc. Super central - this is a train station and you have all the bus connections here too. Kitchen (which is also the common room) is spacious and well equipped- there are 6 induction rings, microwave, oven for cooking . Rooms - It's spacious by my hostel standard, the bathroom was a lot bigger than expected (it could be an accessible bathroom so I'm not sure if this goes for all rooms - that being said I didn't book an accessible room). There are lockers and storage room if you have skis with you. I rented skis from Nordseter Fjellpark and they were able to pickup from the hostel as well which was super convenient (for a cost). Atmosphere- This is more of a hotel vibe than hostel if you're expecting to socialise.

Definitely a good place to stay. The location was unique. Stayed within a train station. Some of the rooms that we stayed was good enough. Buffet breakfast that was served was good too. You can see the trains stopping and moving from the dining window area. Walking distance to restaurant and other shops. A little hustle and bustle since many students wait for the busses outside the hotel. Overall a nice place to stay.

It was certainly a unique experience staying within a train station. The hostel itself was nice and had a place to dine in. The breakfast buffet that we had was sufficient and delicious. Some friendly staff behind the counter was a bonus. The rooms that we stayed was decent too. Walkable distance to shops and touristic places.

I have stayed at Stasjonen several times during the last two years.|The staff is really kind and helpful. Rooms are (so so) clean. Location is great. The rooms facing train station are a bit loud if you are sensitive. Rooms facing bus station are much better. Rooms do not have hair dryer but you can borrow one from reception when you are checking in. Good value for the price.

For a 2 star hotel, I was so impressed by the service of the reception desk. I ran the Birken marathon, and the kitchen woke up especially early to ensure we could have breakfast before the race. After the marathon, I slept like a log and missed breakfast and checkout the next day. When I came downstairs to apologise, they went into the kitchen and fixed me a meal and said don’t worry about sleeping in and missing checkout. In summary, highly recommend!

Nice private room, clean & well equipped common kitchen, located just in the station building and still kind of a private and cozy atmosphere. The staff has been relaxed and supportive in any way. Thank you!
