On the Grid : State Buildings

"For those looking for a weeknight tipple or an occasion dinner, there are a number of bars and restaurants across the State Buildings precinct. On the top floor sits Wildflower, which delivers fine dining inside a glass-box on the roof. The 80-seat dining room offers modern Australian cuisine with an indigenous flair. The Post and Petition are located on the ground floor showcasing the stunningly restored architecture. The Post’s French inspired Australian cuisine is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Situated on the other side of the ground floor, Precinct is broken up into three different spaces - the Kitchen, Wine Bar and Beer Corner. Opening Hours Petition Kitchen: Mon - Fri: 7:00 - late | Sat - Sun: 8.00 - late Wine Bar & Merchant: Mon - Sun: 12:00 - late Beer Corner: Mon - Sat: 11:30 - late | Sun: 12:00 - late" - Henry Luong & Ashleigh Holcz

Beautifully kept heritage buildings, we went there for the first time last night for a dinner at one of the restaurants, Long Chim and it was wonderful being in the lower level wondering what this area was used for in the old days. We're looking forward to coming back next time we're in Perth and checking out more of the shops, cafes, wineries, and restaurants. Beautiful architecture and well worth a visit just to view that. Give it a try. Highly recommended 👌

Beautiful buildings that were built in the 1800's but were then restored and opened to the public in 2015. They now house an upmarket bar, cafe, coffee shops, restaurants, wine bar and luxury hotel.

What a warren of total indulgence! Starting with Petition, which was stunning and a specific review will outline this beautiful restaurant, we then ventured to The Wine Merchant. This is a den, dark and mood-lit. Perfect for enjoying wine! The staff were exceptional in their knowledge of wines and their origins. Of course we stayed and enjoyed a delectable red! The Beer Corner is also fabulous. These staff know their beers and are keen to share their knowledge. We couldn't get into Post, the restaurant, as it was fully booked, but we will return! Very highly recommend for a wonderful evening.

Beautifully restored building that provides a wealth of upmarket hospitality options- everything from coffee in lobby to fine dining on the top floor. The original vault doors are on show. Continue wandering through to reveal St George's Cathedaral at the rear to locate point zero on the corner

What a place. There's no better accommodation in Perth than the COMO. Nobu is a star!

The former State Treasury building is now a hive of restaurants and bars plus an upmarket hotel. Top of the line cuisine and drinks that don't come cheap. Great place for an indulgent night out. Lack of parking is an issue, but one shouldn't drink and drive anyway.

Went to Cape Aria Room for high tea for mum's birthday with mum, sister and sister in laws. Unlimited variety of teas, the scrumptious little savoury and desserts, so good!! Our server was the best, very honest but so lovely. His service was top notch! Will be back again soon 🥰

Yelp
I am loving this area more and more now that it has had some TLC and lots of new shops and businesses flowing. This place is getting more and more exciting by the minute with new eateries like Petition, a rooftop restaurant, a new Thai set to open in December, a chocolatier, a luxury hotel etc. Perth is improving, and looking trendier these days... FYI there is free wifi inside the Building too :)
