Station Motel

As someone who usually stays in the bush when they go rural, I wasn't expecting the overall quality and presentation of the motel as a whole. There are a few small gripes such as thin walls/floors, dusty extraction fans and roughly graded shower floors. But the overall presentation, cleanliness, quality & comfort are on par with my (self-proclaimed) high expectations.||As previously mentioned the walls and floor/ceilings are rather thin & you can hear people talking in neighbouring rooms or walking past, foot steps from people above & water rushing through the pipes from the room above. However the overall noise level from the major road is next to nothing & I experienced no sleep disturbances during my multiple stays.||I didn't try the food here as the costs on the menu for the mains where rather high and the town has plenty of options along the main drag (which is about a 5 minute drive).||With all of this said I would gladly choose to come back here in the future as the cleanliness of the room and amenities are very high, the staff are friendly and helpful, & the rooms are vibey & comfortable. I would happily recommend this place to others looking for quality accommodation in the area.

I only had to stay for one night and next time i have to stop in Parkes I will be staying here again. Easy to get to, good bed, great shower after a long drive and the restaurant succeeded with the meals i had. It was nice and quiet as it was at the end of town heading towards Peak Hill. Friendly staff that were happy to help.

Rooms were clean and comfortable, only downside was no meals on the weekends. They don't have dinners on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Travelling for a work trip, left on a Monday morning and they don't have breakfast options on the Monday morning. Other that everything else was lovely.

I have stayed here a few times now. I like it becasue late check in is easy and the beds are brand new! If you are looking for an easy process to check in and high end rooms this place is the place! I always stay here in my way for work trips! Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Plus if you need a steak dinner they have the best restaurant!

Excellent service, quiet, clean rooms that were at a nice cool temp in the heat. Breakfast was also very fast service and was tasty.

I was disappointed on several counts. We had 3 rooms booked for a business visit. ||When we arrived before the normal check-in time, we got a flat “no”, with no offer, for example, of leaving our luggage anywhere. ||When we did come back after the appointed time, we had to wait until about 40 mins after the time until the poor cleaner lady could finish. ||The first night I was up until 2 am doing “homework” for the next day. That was fine and not unexpected. Except that the only ceiling lights were at the other end of the long room. So there I was for that many hours using my phone’s torch function. Not a good look for the Technical Manager of an international award winning engineering consultancy. ||The next afternoon I got brave and decided to ask the “man at the desk” for a desk lamp. He initially said there was one there already. Then he realised that they removed the lamps from a couple of rooms “because they did not work”. Evidently they had not put one back in my room. ||He said he would get me one. I said that I could collect it when I came for dinner. But he replied that the cook was sick. And that no dinner would be had there. Ohhhhh!!! We went down the street to another motel restaurant. The next night we decided that we did not want food cooked by a sick cook. And also we reflected on the quality of the food from our first night. So we went to the restaurant down the road again. ||But the fellow did not ever come good with the light. So I sent an SMS to him via the number on the Reception door. I received no reply. ||A couple of mornings we turned up for breakfast at opening time. 7 am. I ended up sending two more SMSs. No replies. He turned up at about 7:10. Twice. ||There was no option of a continental breakfast nor a mere cereal in the morning. I ended up having eggs all 3 times. Against my gut’s better judgement. It is still sore. I’m a little underwhelmed there.

Without question - the best service we've experienced in a hotel anywhere in Australia. The resturant and food were delightful and the room was clean and comfortable. HOWEVER, what made the entire stay so enjoable was the care and entusiasm that the interim managers - Allan and Tyrese - ooozed to all their patrons. They are the personification of customer service!

Large room, very comfortable bed, very clean and very friendly people. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to all others.

My family and I have stayed here a number of times. The rooms have been modern, clean and well appointed. The attached restaurant, though, is outstanding. The food is excellent.
