Highlights

The food is house made with local and organic ingredients when ever possible. The soups and specials are creative and healthy. The breads used are from a local artisanal bakery and the coffee is sourced from a local small batch roaster. Sandwiches and salads are 'made to order' and often customized.

"Station Place Cafe is located in a former railroad station (built in 1898) and is a great spot for breakfast and lunch treats like a fig and prosciutto salad."

Google
Want to like this place because it's the only morning cafe in Norfolk, but it's hindered by the setup and the employee. The morning we went there was a old lady running it who seemed put out by the idea of serving us. It didn't help that she was making our breakfast sandwiches on a small hot plate, so it took about 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches. They were very good sandwiches though! Decent for coffee, skip the sandwiches unless you have some time to kill

Just a great place to grab a bite. Friendly owner, always clean. Great food. Love the soda selections of craft drinks.

Yelp
Looks amazing on the outside. Cafe in an old train station. But stay outside. Upon walking in we ordered some coffees. The lady working there literally rolled her eyes at us, complained she wasn't sure how to make a latte and had to check if there was enough milk. We left and gave our business to the much more friendly and hospitable country store down the street.

Yelp
Had a great "everything" bagel with salmon and cream cheese, tomato and onion. Delicious and just what I wanted before going to the Norfolk Farmers' Market just a few steps up the hill next to Norfolk's Town Hall. Highly recommend Station Place Cafe for the quality of the food and people I've met there.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I walked in here for breakfast one morning, we were greeted by a not so friendly woman at the front counter. I tried to ask about seating but she did not seem interested in hearing what I had to ask...unfortunately we did not stay long enough to try the food so I am just reviewing this based on first impressions. I'm not sure if this person was just overwhelmed because it was busy in there and was having an off day, but I will give it a try again and update my review after.

Yelp
Fantastic place for an upscale yet casual lunch, coffee or quick bite. Located in the old train station in the beautiful town of Norfolk, Connecticut, the Station Place Cafe is always worth a stop. (All train puns intentional.) Check out the Artisan's Guild across the street while you are there, and enjoy a perfect New England Village that is known for its warm summer days and cool nights and snowy winters. You can always warm up or cool down at the Station Place Cafe. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Such a great place-so clean and charming. We are excited to visit again and try that amazing looking soup!

Yelp
In a word "rude". Stopped in for an ice coffee. Woman behind the counter was irritated, curt and rude. Seemed like we were "putting her out". The ice in the coffee was a big block of ice that formed from over freezing smaller pieces. Lid wouldn't fit because of the ice. Shared our opinion and she responded... "You expect me to dance for you, I'm not the owner!" Never again and rethink your choice as well. The one star is for the temperature of the coffee. At least that was correct.

Yelp
Still a perfect little place. Keeps getting better. Worth a detour. Even worth making a destination!

Yelp
12/16/14 Lunch Soup was "ok". Heated in microwave. Sandwiches were "ok". I could have made the same with items bought at Stop & Shop. Very average so far. Glass of water was cool (not cold), no ice, no straw. Soda came in an unopened can--no glass, no straw. I guess we were supposed to pop the top and slug it down. Which we do at home. But hey, this was a restaurant. We got a glass when we asked for one. Staff was immersed in conversation. We felt almost like we were intruding on them. I wonder if the first four reviews were written by personal friends...

Yelp
What a find! Lady in wonderful artist co-op across the street gave us a recco and she was absolutely right. Kind of place you want to find when you're in a new area. Creative, interesting menu, well executed, knowledgeable, energetic staff who knew their stuff. Not much on atmosphere(sitting outside scenic view of town center nice) but food is the star here. You won't be disappointed. We had the grilled brie and chutney on whole gran bread with a bowl of Italian Wedding soup. Delicious!!! We'll be back again! Locals are very lucky to have a place like this to visit every day.

Yelp
From their fantastic soups in the winter to the fresh tasty salads salads in the summer, the friendly service and charming atmosphere of the Station Place Cafe keeps me coming back every day. :)

Yelp
Great little cafe! Stayed in the valley for three days and kept coming back here for lunch. Fantastic food and wonderful staff!! Soup and half sandwich is the way to go!

Yelp
This was a really good lunch option. The split pea soup I had was excellent and I also enjoyed my sandwich. They have lots of specials so make sure you look at the special board before you order. There aren't many restaurant options in Norfolk and it was nice to find something quick and low key instead of having to do a full sit-down lunch.

Yelp
Terrible experience today at Station Place Café! We pulled off the road for lunch with 4 adults and 7 children and found the restaurant. We must have overwhelmed the owner (though seating was more than sufficient for this size group) because the first offense came when we ordered a bagel with butter and cream cheese and was told, "nothing complicated". Really, putting both butter and cream cheese on a bagel is hardly what I'd call challenging for a restaurant. It only got worse from there... The owner made several disparaging remarks to us and about us to other customers. After waiting 15 minutes for MOST of the bagels (1 topping only!), the kids were served but were finished eating long before the adults were served their pre-made tarts, soup and packaged salad. When the last bagel was brought out- cream cheese only- it was missing the cream cheese and had butter on it. When we corrected the waitress, the owner chimed in with, "just put the cream cheese over the butter, they won't know the difference". What?? Now I'm pretty frank about my children's behavior and will admit when they are not at their best. However, this group of 7 kids remained in their seats, played word games at the table and kept their voices to reasonable levels. That did not stop the owner from telling us that if we were going to come in with such a large group, then the children should at least behave themselves! My girls were horrified at how she spoke about them and were confused and ashamed by her comments. We confronted her at the end of the meal and was met with yet more rudeness. No apologies, she continued to blame us for coming to her restaurant with some many people. Must be doing very well if she's able to turn away a single seating of 11 people. I've honestly never been treated so poorly in a restaurant.

Yelp
Excellent food, all natural, good for you, and Delicious! The coffee was superb! Which is Very important to me when I eat at any restaurant! Panini sandwiches, pea soup with a hint of mint....all warm & toasty. If your in this part of CT you simply must stop in and eat here!
