Statue de Freddie Mercury

First time in Montreux, we enjoyed the walk ion the lake shore, very nice. In midtown the city have the statue of Freddy Mercury. It’s beautiful beautiful artwork and represents an incredible artist with a stunning voice wonderfully. I didn’t know Queen was recording in the past in Montreux, Albums like jazz. If you walk direction casino, you can enter the Queen Studio experience, free of charge, and for any Gen X guy a must. Outside the casino they have a wall game for any one who wants to write a comment.

This statue is so much more than a monument. Set right on the Montreux Riviera with a spectacular view of Lake Geneva, Freddie Mercury stands in his iconic pose – full of energy, full of life. An absolute goosebump spot for anyone who loves his music. Fans from all over the world come here to feel closer to him. Flowers, messages, small tributes – all showing how powerful his art remains to this day. And if you want to dive even deeper: the Queen: The Studio Experience at the Montreux Casino lets you explore where parts of their legendary music were actually created..

When in Rome...er, Montreux. Worth a visit for a photo or two if you've got the time. And there's a gelateria just a block away! Hang out on/near the lake right there at the coolest public bench circle ever made, then take a stroll along the lake - preferably near sunset.

The great representation of a Titan of music. A little hard to get a great photo as they were doing some construction around the area. At one point, he even had a do not cross tape wrapped around 1 foot as they made a fence to do some work on the viewing platform for the lake. I did manage to get one or two good shots. If you can get a picture of him from the side with the mountains and the lake on a nice day it is very breathtaking in a view I’m sure he appreciated when the band was in town to record music.

Mr. Bad Guy forever looking out at the beautiful Swiss mountains. Try and visit in the evening, after sunset and just sit there. Listen to "A Winters Tale." On your headphones. It's bliss.

Enjoyed the walk around Lake Geneva, admiring the many statues, small or lifesize. The iconic one of Freddie Mercury was like icing on a cake. However I do wish someone would clean up the statue once in a while, there is just too much junk hanging on him and around him as gifts from well meaning fans.

What a wonderful idea to place Freddy's statue there! I love him and Queen and I was so happy I could see it. It looks great and it is very realistic! 30 years and fans still bring flowers, that says everything about what an absolute fenomenon Freddy was!!

Magnificent! This waterfront is absolutely gorgeous! On a sunny day or a wet overcast day it's all the same! Simply beautiful! He's a legend and so many people leave notes and flowers at his feet! Montreux is a beautiful, quiet city. Not a whole lot to do but it makes for a cute pass through town!

Freddy Mercury statue in Montreux is a must see! It is a lovely tribute to this special artist. The statue is in a great place to eat lunch and people watch too.

Probably would have to write a very long story about my feelings for the music of Queen. So here are just a couple of pictures of the statue of Freddie Mercury, who spent a lot of time in Montreux at the end of his life. I am not even sure if I like the statue, but it is probably fitting than it is larger than life, just like the man himself...

Clearly if you're in Montreux and have any sort of taste in music then you should come and see the statue of Freddie Mercury.
