Stavanger Bed & Breakfast

I was surprised to find that the toilet was shared, as they advertised a «private en suite shower» on their web site. The room as such was clean and simple, the bed comfortable enough, though with a lumpy pillow. The shower and sink are next to the bed without a door or wall to divide them. There is no soap in the shower. I had sent two messsges to the hotel that I would be arriving close to closing time at 21:00 as my flight landed at 20:00. When I arrived, instead of a smile or welcome I was met with «I didn’t think you were coming, we sent you a text.» I had not received a text. The same grumpy attitude when I checked out. The breakfast is basic and good enough but far from «fabulous» as advertised. There was no non-dairy milk limiting option to vegans to bread and jam. The location was good, a five minute walk from the train station and a short walk from bars and restaurants. Stay here only if you have no other decent options.

We spent three nights here as a base for hiking and a fjords cruise. It was ideal, especially as we were driving and wanted somewhere to park (although it should be said parking is pretty tight there!)||Reception staff were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast a couple of mornings - great value and very convenient. Wifi decent. Towels changed on request. ||Our room (twin with shower) was much more weathered and worn than it appeared in the photos, but you can’t really complain given the price charged. Similarly the communal kitchen. Annoyingly, some of the other guests seemed incapable of cleaning up properly after themselves.

Our train was several hours late and we didn’t arrive until 22:30, but the manager responded to our messages and reassured us that he would be available when we arrived. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast that we purchased was very good. You can’t beat the price!

This is a budget hotel. Lower your expectations and it is just fine. The shared shower is pretty awful. On the third floor, the one shower and one toilet seem to be shared by 8 rooms. I could be wrong about that because I cannot see into the other rooms. The beds are comfy. The room was hot, being on the third floor. Nice sink and mirror in room. They say free parking, but best I can tell, the lot has x2 parking spots.

Ok for budget accommodation. Economy rooms have shower and sink inside, toilet is shared buy very tiny and claustrophobic. Strainge smell and sounds from the drains. Room is, although, spacious. It is good location, but on a steep hill, so you should keep that in mind.

Affordable, comfortable, low-frills bed and breakfast. 10 to 15 minute walk to all the sites. Very nice staff. Room was clean. Shared toilets also clean and easily accessible. A great place to stay if you do not need a lot of luxury and want to be close to things and pay a very reasonable orice.

Easy uphill walk from train station, however, I was hoping for a b&b feel. The outside is a great colour but inside is stark white with very small hallways. One bathroom on the 3rd floor for about 7 rooms. Clean. My room had 4 twin beds squeezed in. The staff are great and friendly. Breakfast was not included! I had read the reviews about a great breakfast, but after paying an extra 95 NOK, received a small typical European style breakfast. Fine but didn't purchase for the second day. Okay for staying if just want a place to sleep.

The hotel owner is warm & helpful , the room is fine. It is very near the train & bus station & the city center , only that we have to walk a bit up steep road.
