The Stavanger Maritime Museum is a fascinating journey back in time, housed in beautifully preserved 18th and 19th-century warehouses. Unlike modern museums, this place feels incredibly authentic, with creaking floorboards and the faint scent of tar and salt. I loved exploring the reconstructed general store from 1910 and seeing the intricate ship models that tell the story of Norway’s seafaring heritage. The location right on the waterfront is perfect, and if you're lucky, you might see their historic sailing ships docked outside. It offers a wonderful, quiet escape from the busy harbor and provides great context for how Stavanger grew from a small fishing town into a major maritime hub. A must-visit for history lovers!
