We were. group of 10 people, and we have been allocated into 2 different rooms (4 and 6). The staff is friendly, the facilities are clean, and the location was perfect for us; easily reachable by bike or bus from and to the centre. Breakfast good, but it can be improved further. Thank you, I will come back when hanging around AMS for sure!

We were in a six person family room at Stayokay. We appreciated the space and having our own restroom. The hostel overall was clean, bright, and inviting. We would definitely stay there again. If you are looking for a hostel experience, this is the place to book.

When we arrived to the room after a long journey, we had to make our own beds with these white sheets and this thick blue cover which looked like it was not washed since it had stains on it. With the bathroom/shower they were separate rooms but with no ventilation in either. Also in the bathroom the toilet paper was really hard to grab, like we had to wrap our hands on the toilet roll and twist to hopefully get a couple of squares. One thing to mention is that the shower had no towels, shower gel, shampoo/conditioner, all were additional costs. Then the heat in the room was brutal. We only stayed in the room to sleep. With the only tiny window open, we were all sweaty and hot all night. It was a terrible experience. As well, whenever someone would get done in the shower, all the heat from the shower room (since there’s no ventilation) would come into the main living area. We requested a fan the next day but they had none available so we had to deal with the heat all throughout our visit. Also that same day we got breakfast since we were told there were “a lot of options”. When we showed up the “options” were a few different types of bread. The only hot food was eggs (no hot meats) and there was some yogurt/cereal as well but that was basically it. It was an overall disappointing to pay almost 10£ for. And to top everything off, the room had ants in it. There were some on the desk, the wall, and the bathroom, and was overall unpleasant. The hallway by our room had a slight urine smell. The only reason I am not giving it 1 star is because the staff were pretty nice.

We stayed at this hostel during a school trip and had a good experience overall. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Ventilation was limited, the windows could only be tilted open, so it got a bit stuffy without air conditioning. We had to keep the window open at night, which meant some noise from outside, but that’s to be expected in a city. The common areas were really well designed and equipped. Breakfast was excellent. In the evenings, they showed football games in the lounge, which was a great way to hang out with others. The location is convenient: just 10–15 minutes to the city center by public transport or bike. The staff was helpful throughout our stay. All in all, a solid place to stay if you're visiting Amsterdam, especially for groups or school trips.

The hostel is a bit far from the city center but easily reachable via tram and in a very cute residential neighborhood. The rooms are very nice, although the bathrooms are a bit sparse. Lockers and sheets were provided but guests have to bring their own locks, shampoo, towels, and make the bed up themselves. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was amazing, really worth the 10 euro price. The staff was respectful and always ready to help. The location was great, about 45 min of walking to get to the city center and this was great since Amsterdam is a beautiful place with a lot of road walks. The room was nice, it was comfy and had everything one needs to feel well in a foreign place.

We booked a three night stay with six people. The staff and the service is really great. Very friendly and accommodating. They offered me a free drink for my birthday and gave us some nice recommendations for local restaurants and cafés. The lobby has a nice vibe and is great for hanging out, working or having a drink or something to eat. The location is fine too. You can reach the inner city in 15 to 20 minutes but it is a little off the beaten track if you want to be close to the center. One of the only downsides were the rooms and the hallways. We shared a six bed room. It is nice that we had a private bathroom however the room and the hallway outside were really stuffy and smelly. And apart from a small window in our room that can be slightly opened there is no way to get fresh air in. It got hot and stuffy real fast with that many people. There is also no ventilation in the bathroom. So once again it gets really stuffy and hot and it also smelled a little bit like urine. For the beds you get fresh linen but the bedding itself should be cleaned once in a while too. My pillow had a really bad smell despite the fresh pillow case. If the bedding is cleaned more often and if the room were less stuffy this would be a perfect stay for groups. But it is still a nice stay for bigger groups and if you want to save money.

The location is excellent and close to bus and tram stations. 3 mins walk to Arab Street with many nice food options and late-night snacks. The rooms are good, but the bed can be better by adding privacy. No air conditioner in the rooms, so it is too hot in summer to stay. The staff are friendly.

Yelp
They do price gouge for everything. The breakfast was amazing. Great location! Safe and secure!

Yelp
Shower was weird. You had to keep pushing the button for water to come out every five seconds. It was super annoying. There's only ONE mirror for a shared room for 6 girls. Add more mirrors please! Tram stop was right in front of the hostel making it super easy to commute. Weird that the bar closes before midnight on a Friday night. Bartender wouldn't let us buy bottle beers. $8 to rent a towel. No lockers. Just cubbies.

Yelp
Ok no. Don't come here. I booked a six person dorm here and it was kind of a disaster. First of all, the the girl at the counter was really rude. Her credit card machine wasn't working so she told me sorry you cannot stay here if you're credit card doesn't work. After about twenty minutes of getting it to work she was still rude. It was so bad. The room itself was ok, it was narrow but clean. There was no ventilation in the room so it was really muggy for six people. However, they do have a really good breakfast and the hotel itself isn't too shabby. If it weren't for the breakfast, I would give this place one star. Unacceptable customer service and I will not be back.

Yelp
Not the worst hostel we've stayed at but if you stay here expect to be nickel and dimed. Their prices aren't that much cheaper than comparable hostels yet they charge you for everything. We stayed in a private two person room and were forced to pay €4.50 per towel we used and an additional fee for soap. Also the beds aren't made upon arrival and if you don't leave the sheets on the floor you are subject to an additional "cleaning fee." Also "no outside food or drinks allowed."

Yelp
The value for money for this hotel is really good! The room has everything it needs and there are very nice lounges on the ground floor. The staff are friendly and everything is well organized. Gladly again!

Yelp
The breakfast was pretty good and the hostel is in a great location! Quick bus ride or walk to any part of Amsterdam. The 6 bunk beds were decent (it's a hostel) and the shower was a little small but it's clean and the staff are helpful. Definitely a good bang for your buck!

Yelp
I went on a tour of Europe with a group of 20 people and 5 of the girls got BED BUGS after staying here the first night. This made the rest of their trip awful. The location is decent but I do not feel that the safety standards are acceptable for people to stay here.
