Stayokay Utrecht Center

The location of this hostel is very convenient — a short walk from the train station and a variety of restaurants and sites. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The neighborhood felt safe. We stayed in a private room due to my son’s younger age. The room was very basic and no frills (ie. bring all of your own entertainment), but comfortable and mostly quiet. Perfect for a trip that was focused on exploring Utrecht and Amsterdam. It seemed a little expensive for what it was, since breakfast was not included, but the daily rate was not a deal breaker. Side note: we chose to stay in Utrecht over Amsterdam thinking it would be a quieter more low key experience. After taking a day trip to Amsterdam, I realized this wasn’t necessarily the case. With all there is to do in Amsterdam, it would have been nice to have a place to take a rest during the day. And there’s plenty of quieter places to find lodging.

It was nice, staff were really nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The shower was hard to manage- there's no room to dry comfortably before re-entering the dorm and little space to put your things needed for bathing. The room of the washing machine lockers had a really bad smell. Overall, very nice place.

Fabulous stay in Utrecht. Super clean rooms, luggage area if you arrive early or depart late, nice staff, and an amazing cafe/restaurant attached, so great for remote work. This is the first time I've ever stayed in a blended hostel/hotel that mixes the 2 so smoothly. A super great blend of family space for those with kiddos, and a chill bar for remote workers hanging out.

I’ve stayed at the Amsterdam-Oost branch before. Compared to that, this one is really bad. There are almost no common areas, the café is closed, the rooms are cold and unpleasant, and the windows let in the cold. It’s very noisy at night from the city center. The only positive is that the staff are helpful and friendly. Definitely not worth this high price. I won’t stay here again.

Prime location. Just down the street from Utrecht Centraal. And close to tons of restaurants and shops. Rooms are nice and clean and the staff is friendly. Each bed has its own socket and light. Shower heads are detachable which is always a plus in my book. Good luck parking your bike out front though. But luckily there is a garage for that across the square from the hostel. I'll definitely stay at this hostel again the next time I'm in Utrecht.

Nice comfortable place to stay, in very central location easy to walk everywhere. Friendly staff, and reasonable luggage storage/laundry available. Only downside for me was there was no kitchen facilities or even just a kitchenette available. Breakfast was available but seemed quite expensive for what was on offer.

I had a great 5 night stay at this hostel. The room was clean, spacious, and colourful. The receptionists were all lovely and very helpful. The restaurant on the ground floor was also very handy for dinner. Would stay again if I came back to Utrecht! Only thing to note is that there are no kitchen facilities so no kettle to make coffee/tea which is why I rated the rooms 4/5 instead of 5/5.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and the beds were comfortable with individual lights and sockets. Bathrooms were always tidy, and I appreciated the daily cleaning. Perfect place for a good night’s sleep after exploring the city.

This hostel opened up in August of 2016. It is by far the nicest, cleanest, most modern hostel I have ever stayed at. The lobby area has fast wifi, plenty of seating, and serves food (until 8pm) and drink (until 12am). The lobby is open to anyone so much of the day you will see if filled with students, locals and tourists. It's much more of a casual, mature vibe than you will find at most other hostels. Great place to study or do work on your computer. The rooms are clean and all have their own bathroom inside. The beds are looong (about 6 '10, or 2.1 m length) and comfortable. If you are looking for something similar to The Flying Pig in Amsterdam, this isn't the place for you. Most guests seemed to go to bed relatively early or did their partying elsewhere and just came back to crash.

I love the whole Stayokay hostel service and experience. I was very fortunate to have stayed at one of these for my first hostel experience as it can be a very nerve racking experience. I was skeptical at first using hostels wondering if they were safe, clean, or easy to use but once I got here my whole perspective changed altogether. The interior is really clean and colorful and all the rooms I have stayed in the past have been as well. The staff are very friendly as well and are always happy to recommend things to do in the area you are staying in.

I went to this hotel today and they sent me away even though I've made a reservation via booking.com. The manager also didn't take any effort to help me find another place to stay. Luckily I've found one. But they should have communicated this better. It looks good from the inside but it's just a pity that I never got to see my room. Tourists coming from abroad shouldn't get these unwelcome surprises after a long train ride.
