This hostel really has its standards quite high. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable all while being at an affordable price. Ideally, I really like how you are in the city centre not so far from the station, shops, restaurants, and other modes of transit. It's been fun being at Utrecht!

We had a great stay here in one of the ten bed dorms. The staff are really friendly, attentive and helpful. This isn't a typical hostel. It's more like a hotel aside from the fact that it has dorm rooms. The main social/lounge area here is a bar/restaurant which is open to the public, as well as Hostel guests. It's a really nice environment but not the quiet relaxing space you might want to chill after a long day sightseeing. They do have games though! My main qualm is the lack of ventilation in the dorm (which you really do need when sharing with others). The windows did not open!! A great mercy was that the Hostel had supplied fans for the hot weather, but it's not the same as an open window. If I'm ever back in Utrecht (which I hope to be) I would stay here again.

I have stay and experienced different rooms there. So try to not order mixed rooms and travel more than 1 person. Breakfast nice, all the working people there- good and knows what to do. You can wash your clothes there- was about 10 euro.Clean, central and really ok.

We stayed in comfort room for 2. Windows in our room could not be opened, that meant we had to trust built-in ventilation system which was not a good idea in summer. Thankfully they provided a small ventilator we could use. The bed sheets were clean but the general hygiene of the rooms was not as good. But we only stayed for 2 nights and were outside whole day, so these things didn’t bother us as much.

The location is fabulous, the rooms are clean and pretty, and the staff are incredible. Our only problem was with air circulation. It was unbearably hot in our room when we arrived, though it was cool enough to wear jackets outside, and it was impossible to open a window to bring in some fresh air. It was equally hot in the hallway. The receptionist went above and beyond and ran all over to find us a fan, but even with the fan we were so hot we couldn't sleep all night, as it was just recirculating stale air. The hostel was kind enough to move us to another room, where it was slightly cooler and the centrail air vent was producing at least a slight air current, but given how booked it was, this meant downsizing our room. If the hostel had windows that opened even a little, thus allowing air currents to circulate while maintaining security, it would be perfect! Still, I would gladly stay again; overall our stay was fantastic.

Great location. Service was good, very kind people. Room didnt have a window to the outside (which makes sense considering the location in the city centre), which made it feel less open and ventilated. Room was quite clean. Public restroom was definitely not, but that might be expected in a busy hostel guess. Overall nice stay.

Great location on the main square in town. The staff were nice and the café was quite good downstairs. The room had an amazing view across the Square and parts of the city, with flocks of birds forming a murmuration just outside the huge bed room window! The one problem was that you couldn’t open the window, so we had to keep a fan going all night, and the air in the room had nothing to refresh it because the light immediately went on in the Bathroom if you left it open…

Location is perfect, it is close to the city center and also the train station. But rooms are disappointing. You can just open windows like 1 cm and there is no air conditioning. Also in some rooms there is no window facing outside, just inside, that was horrible. I don’t know if this is legal to build a room like this. The toilet and shower are just inside the room not a separate room which is okish, but sink is just near to my bed, so if anyone washes hands, needs to come to near to my bed lol. And also there is no sitting area in reception. Ok, price is low, I know that and I was not expecting too much, but that was even lower than my expectations.

Yelp
This hostel opened up in August of 2016. It is by far the nicest, cleanest, most modern hostel I have ever stayed at. The lobby area has fast wifi, plenty of seating, and serves food (until 8pm) and drink (until 12am). The lobby is open to anyone so much of the day you will see if filled with students, locals and tourists. It's much more of a casual, mature vibe than you will find at most other hostels. Great place to study or do work on your computer. The rooms are clean and all have their own bathroom inside. The beds are looong (about 6 '10, or 2.1 m length) and comfortable. If you are looking for something similar to The Flying Pig in Amsterdam, this isn't the place for you. Most guests seemed to go to bed relatively early or did their partying elsewhere and just came back to crash.

Yelp
I love the whole Stayokay hostel service and experience. I was very fortunate to have stayed at one of these for my first hostel experience as it can be a very nerve racking experience. I was skeptical at first using hostels wondering if they were safe, clean, or easy to use but once I got here my whole perspective changed altogether. The interior is really clean and colorful and all the rooms I have stayed in the past have been as well. The staff are very friendly as well and are always happy to recommend things to do in the area you are staying in.

Yelp
I went to this hotel today and they sent me away even though I've made a reservation via booking.com. The manager also didn't take any effort to help me find another place to stay. Luckily I've found one. But they should have communicated this better. It looks good from the inside but it's just a pity that I never got to see my room. Tourists coming from abroad shouldn't get these unwelcome surprises after a long train ride.
