The Best Spas for a Weekend Getaway

"Just 90 minutes outside of Toronto, this all-inclusive wellness resort occupies a castle-like early-nineteenth-century stone manor set on 500 pastoral acres of rolling fields, forests, and gardens. A stay here—in a freestanding cottage or an inn room, all traditionally decorated in homage to the building’s circa-1800 origins—comes with the hotel’s elevated countryside cuisine for all meals (and afternoon tea, too), plus credits to use for wellness classes ranging from yoga to fitness boot camps, meditation to e-biking, and spa therapies focused on botanically based facials, massages, and body treatments. The vibe here is decidedly relaxed: There’s no pressure to ever change out of your spa bathrobe, and many guests never do." - Andrew Sessa

Just had my wedding at Ste Anne's, and it was perfect! My family visited for the first time last December, and decided right there and then that it would be the perfect location to host our summer wedding. The spa was a cozy stay in the winter but the summer stay was even more of a treat with the pool open. Our rooms, food, and treatments were top quality, and the service was excellent. The meals did take a bit longer to come out, but that was understandable, given our larger party of 11. We had a small wedding with immediate family only, but there was still quite a bit of planning. Alisha and Kelly were a dream team to work with. They made the planning process so easy and communicated everything clearly. On the day of the ceremony, everything was set up and organized - we didn't have to worry about a thing! The team created a beautiful floral arch that was then used as a table runner - all the decor was more beautiful than I even expected. We had our dinner in the English walled garden, where Chef Michael served a delicious meal. He created an amazing menu based on our requests - I'm still thinking about that steak. All in all, I'm so glad we were able to have our wedding at Ste. Anne's (hello anniversary trips!) and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway or special event!

Beautiful and happy memories every time I visit this stunning Spa. It is welcoming, the staff are beyond professional, it is inviting, the food is always fresh and local, and stress-free. The hammocks are my favorite. The water therapies are amazing. Parking is accommodating. Skin products are divine. Not pretentious at all. Beautiful all seasons.

My husband and I visited Ste Anne’s for the first time this week . We spent 1 night. Our next stay will definitely be for more nights!! The staff were above and beyond accommodating. Everyone had a smile and looked to very much enjoy their job. The food super exceed my expectations. We found a great variety and the portions were great. The presentation was beautiful on every plate we tried. I very much enjoyed every bite as well as every cup of tea and cucumber water. My husband and I each chose 3 spa services and again they were spectacular. The staff were very knowledgeable, professional and ensured our needs were always meet. The pools were so relaxing. They were all different temperatures so there was something for everyone. Lots of room for everyone to enjoy nothing felt crowded. The views were breathtaking from our room. We stayed in one of the cottages ! That alone was a peaceful part of paradise. The attention to detail is felt in every area of the spa and grounds. Until next time Ste Anne’s Thank you!!! 💓💓

I went for a solo 3 night stay - my 1st time at the spa. Everything- from reservation, booking services, reception, food and rooms - was done perfectly. As soon as I got there, I felt relaxed. The building is beautiful, food is incredible, service is impeccable. The regular pool is large, with comfy loungers. The spa hot tubs are great, very relaxing. Open until 10pm - soaking in the dark with the pools lit up was a treat. Well worth the trip, and I will be going again!

I recently visited Ste. Anne’s Spa, and while there were a couple of standout moments, the overall experience fell short of expectations especially considering the premium price. Pros: The customer service upon arrival was genuinely warm and welcoming which was a great first impression. The massage was relaxing, although it wasn’t the full 45 minutes. Oddly, my partner was taken in after me and finished before I did, which made the timing feel inconsistent. The restaurant staff was excellent — attentive and friendly throughout. Lunch was enjoyable and well-prepared. The property itself is beautiful, and there’s potential for a great experience with the right improvements. Cons: There’s only one of each key amenity (pool, eucalyptus room, warming room, etc.), which made those spaces feel overcrowded and less relaxing than expected. Outside of spa services, there weren’t many activities to enjoy unless you paid significantly more for the optional classes. For the price, I feel there should be a few more complimentary offerings. High tea felt like an add-on to justify the cost. It was just okay, and honestly, I could have done without it. Dining outdoors was frustrating due to the constant presence of flies. A simple solution like table fans or even floral arrangements might help keep them at bay. We decided to sit on the chairs on the grass area to enjoy the view and were surprised (and horrified) to discover ants crawling all over my ankles. It really took away from the experience. I believe the grounds could be better maintained similar to how resorts spray regularly for pests. The change rooms were my biggest concern. There wasn’t a private, dry area to get dressed after showering, which meant being naked in a shared space, not ideal for everyone. My clean towel ended up touching a wet door, which felt unhygienic and uncomfortable. The facilities were dated and didn’t feel as clean or fresh as a spa of this reputation should. While I appreciate the “all-inclusive” concept, the execution didn’t match the promise. Between the overcrowding, lack of amenities, and disappointing attention to detail, it’s not an experience I would personally return for.

The meals are Michelin quality. Our room in the main building was beautiful and had 2 double beds Our treatments were relaxing and professionally applied. The buildings and spa areas are very clean. The saunas and water therapy pools were wonderful. This was the 13th year that my girlfriend and I have been coming here for 2 nights and 3 days. The staff bend over backwards to accommodate the guests.

I had 2 days at St. Anne's Spa with 3 girlfriends and it was totally amazing. A little bit of paradise on earth. The food and service were both top notch. Our room was The Nook and was perfect with comfortable beds and pillows and lots of room for us to enjoy inside and outside. Our treatments were all well done by professionals, so relaxing. We all loved our time there and can't wait till we can afford to go again.

The BEST spa experience I've had to date!! The staff were all so delightful (Sharon gets a gold star for just always being at the right place at the the time! ⭐ ) The food was so delicious, the serving staff were so friendly and the eating areas were super cute!! The pools were SooOoOoOo nice, clean and quiet, just what I was hoping for. Speaking of clean, the place was spotless and the cleaning staff were hella friendly too!! The change rooms were tidy and dry considering it was a spa, the showers were clean, the walkways were beautiful! And the gardens!!!!!!!!! Ohmygoodness I could spend a day just meandering the gardens and I still wouldn't have had enough time to appreciate them. The flowers and plants were SO lovely. When I retire I want to be a volunteer in those gardens.... So beautiful 😍 Thank you to everyone at Ste Anne's for such a lovely experience. It made my heart sing!

Yelp
I've been to St Anne's on three occasions and it's truly a little piece of heaven. Located about 1.5 hours east of Toronto in the country side on a beautiful property, there is truly something for everyone. My most recent trip was a day trip for my bacholorette party. The day started of with one of the employees, Sheldon, giving us a tour of the property. He was incredibly enthusiastic and friendly and gave us a very warm welcome. You can store your belongings in a locker room and rather than a key or code to remember you have water proof bracelets that allow you to open and close your locker so you can be stress free that your belongings are safe. All you need to bring is a bathing suit and some flip flops and they provide you with a warm cozy bathrobe that you will wish you could leave with. The treatments are so relaxing and well worth every dollar. I had the pumpkin spice body rub which involved a full body exfoliation followed by a massage, all while breathing in delicious autumn scents with relaxing music. There's a plethora of pools from cold to piping hot, a sauna and a steam room so something for any time of year. In terms of food-if you go for the day you get both a 3 course lunch with a variety of unlimited hot and cold non alcoholic beverages and a full afternoon tea consisting of a variety of sandwiches, fruits and veggies, desserts and scones which are all delicious. They can easily accommodate for dietary restrictions such as vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. My favourites were the salmon, the dairy free ice cream, the scones (don't forget the cream and jam), and the seasonal warm apple cider. If that doesn't fill you up, there's apples and granolas available throughout the day as well as cucumber lemon water throughout the building to keep you hydrated. If you want to be more active, there a bunch of walking trails along the property and fitness/wellness activities throughout the day such as yoga, meditation as well as more cardio intense classes. If you just want to relax, you can grab a lounge chair on a hot day or lie in a hammock or on a hot day cosy up in a chair inside and read a book. There was another very friendly employee who went above and beyond, I believe his name was Mike, who offered to take picture of my friends and I and spent about half an hour with us at 2 different locations to make sure we got the perfect shots. The only room for improvement from my most recent visit was during the meals. There was a bit of confusion with ordering and there were a few instances where one person in the group's items were forgotten. Our waitress also tried to politely kick us out of afternoon tea after less than an hour. I enjoyed all my food but the quinoa in the quinoa salad was a little overcooked and dry and my friends did not enjoy the coconut curry as much. I think they do a great job with their baked goods considering they are gluten free but think it would be nice to a have a few non gluten free options although I realize that makes contamination an issue for those who are celiac and cannot have any gluten.

Yelp
I love this place so friggin' much. I've been to a lot of spas, and this is the only one that is really a spa retreat. The last time I had been here was over 6 years ago and I have been dying to come back. My girlfriend and I made our long awaited return last week. We both desperately needed a getaway from our busy, stressful lives so we booked the 2 night stay. We stayed at the Sentosa Central cottage which was just so beautiful and spacious. We used the shuttle to get back and forth from the main inn. If the weather was nicer (warmer and less precipitation) we would have used the path that goes from the cottage to the main inn. The scenery from the cottage was just beautiful. The last time we were at the spa, they only had the hot tub and cold plunge pool. The renovations adding all of the water therapy pools was just stunning. One day we were in the hot tub and it started snowing. It was just so peaceful and gorgeous. We both booked several spa services, all of which were wonderful. My aroma stone massage was done by Sarah K and she went above and beyond by also giving me a therapy session to help relieve some emotional stress. Reade did both mine and my friend's foot therapy. We both talked about how charming and funny he was. Heather did my foot skin rejuvenation and coconut breeze treatments that I really enjoyed. The food was just absolutely stellar. Not a single complaint. It was so hard to choose what to eat because everything looked so delicious - and it was! We left relaxed, refreshed and ready to take on anything that came at us. We even decided to make this an annual retreat and booked our next trip! If you book within 7 days or checkout, you even get an extra spa credit. Every staff member was just so friendly, cheerful and helpful. We felt like queens. Thank you for the perfect retreat!

Yelp
My group of 4 recently went to the spa for an overnight. We have all been there in the past and had wonderful times. Unfortunately, this time left us quite disappointed. The cottage was great. comfy and clean. Although there was not a dish towel or paper towel in the place to wash the wine glasses which were put away dirty. but overall the cottage was wonderful. The spa services were quite mediocre. You would expect that for the price, the services would be higher end. Most of us chose a foot treatment and less than half the allotted time was spent on our feet. Also, the Indian head massages focused more on shoulders than our head. We understand that everyone has a different idea of what a treatment should be like, but none of us was happy with our treatments, except the $165 Thai massage. Having said that, all the technicians, therapists, were lovely. The food was the biggest disappointment of all. We had the standard, breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner and quite frankly, with the exception of the breakfast yoghurt parfait, none of the food was even remotely close to a 1* and some was inedible. There was almost no discernible difference between the curry and pesto pasta. You get plenty of food but it was certainly not enjoyable. There was some kind of mix up at breakfast and after waiting quite some time and watching others seated after us get their drinks, we eventually had to ask if we had a server. We all got sick with some stomach issue. not saying we got it there but none of us were together prior to arriving at the spa, yet one by one we ended up in the bathroom for extended periods of time. We did let the spa know but we did not get a response. after this very expensive experience, and no response from the spa, we are looking for a different spa for our next get together.

Yelp
I thought it was supposed to be a ghost story! Our calm host welcomes us in at 9am and takes us for a short tour around the grounds, he points to this painted portrait to show us "Nan" the lady that used to live here, and OMG who do I see shuffling by in her slippers down the end of the hall and disappearing into the corridor, it was NAN! He goes on to say how we may see her from time to time on the grounds....I had to interrupt him saying I just saw her, does she haunt the grounds?! He replies, No she's still alive and she lives down the street now but used to live here in this building before it turned to spa....whew, wasn't going for that experience today! This place is very serene and old with some newer touches but mostly has a 70/80's decor feel. Being in the country in a non cell phone friendly place forces you to wind down and do a puzzle or knitting on one of their many couches. There is fruit infused water with granola snacks everywhere you turn here. I love the robe attire, they will exchange a new/dry one if needed. I spent a lot of time in the Eucalyptus Steam room, it fits probably 8 people in a hexagonal tiled room that has a rinse shower by the door. You will feel like you cleaned out your lungs sitting in here. The steam turns on every few minutes for short bursts until the room becomes foggy and steamy, it's very pleasant and must be tried if visiting. The pools: plunge(cold, fits 1 person), lap(warm, fits 2 technically) and hot tub, fits 4) we spent more than 30 minutes out in the pool area in freezing cold snowy January. Guests thought we were completely crazy, but if you want a good detox my friend, go into lap first, plunge, lap then hot tub and repeat 4x, your system will get the best flushing of your lymphatic system and make you stronger and healthier. Massage- mine was new and ok, but my husband got a strong and 10 yr experienced rmt and was really happy. they let you choose 1 of 4 essential oils to use during treatment, which they sell in the gift shop. Seaweed Wrap- I was made into sushi! This was great, starts with a quick full body brush exfoliation and you get to keep the brush after, followed by a massage to put on seaweed paste, then you are bundled with heat wraps to soak in the goodness while they massage your feet. You rinse off in a shower in the room after they step out, get back into a dry, cleaned and warmed table to be moisturized again with added essential oil you get to choose from. I loved this treatment, would do this again in a heartbeat! A full day at the spa goes by quick! We enjoyed lunch and high tea and I couldn't eat more even though all the food and portions seemed so small. High tea is worth going to and not missing, all the little bites to try. Time will fly by here but you will leave refreshed. A treat for sure and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The location in Grafton, Ontario is off the beaten trail. But, the grounds are lovely with lounge chairs, an old-fashioned wooden swing for two, Muskoka chairs, gorgeous flowers, walking trails, a huge pool and more. When checking in we received complimentary slippers and the use of a robe during our stay. Although it's expensive, this is a great overnight destination to unwind and be pampered. My massage therapist made sure the massage was to my liking. The rooms are decorated in a shabby chic style. We chose a room with a hot tub (large enough for two) but there's also a larger hot tub outside for guests. The meals were high quality while the food portions were moderate. The staff encourage a tech-free stay by suggesting cell phones be used only for emergencies. Of course there's plenty of parking. After all we were in the middle of nowhere.

Yelp
We went for a bachelorette weekend and our services were absolutely wonderful. The staff were friendly, helpful and facilities were amazing. It's unfortunate that the steam rooms and saunas are closed due to covid but there's plenty of space and things to do!

Yelp
I'll admit, there was some apprehension... hearing their menu was delicious but healthy, I braced myself for quinoa salads and broiled fish. Luckily, while they do have options that are lighter, they also offer some hearty dishes as well. In general, they just give you a lot of choice; so much so that I couldn't choose between the beef tataki salad and the potato and scallion cakes to start. As a testament to their hospitality, our waitress brought both. The beef tataki salad was filled with crunchy fresh vegetables - radish slices, edamame, spring peas, and crunchy smashed cucumbers - so the lightly seared beef slices, while present, weren't the star of the dish. All the ingredients were nicely tied together dressed in a delicious ginger vinaigrette with tamari glaze drizzled on the plate for an extra savoury element. Meanwhile, the potato & scallion cakes were a letdown. The crispy French style crepes were in reality savoury pancakes, which tasted like they were made from Aunt Jemima mix with scallions thrown in. Having pictured the starter to be similar to latkes or rosti, it was very disappointing that the potatoes seemed missing from the equation. At least the tangy relish accompanying the pancakes were delicious and gave them some flavour. It was probably for the best that I didn't finish the pancakes anyways - the Ste. Anne's beef burger was a towering creation that demanded an appetite! The thick patty was cooked through but still juicy and dressed with aged cheddar and the customary fresh toppings. I could hardly squish the fluffy brioche Kaiser down to fit in my mouth. Overall, a very tasty burger and the horseradish chive aioli a lovely condiment in lieu of sugary ketchup. Despite it being a hearty burger, I can see why people describe Ste. Anne's food as "healthy". Firstly, the burger doesn't come with fries, in fact there's nothing fried on the menu. Instead, side options consists of soup or salad and even the Caesar dressing is light and vinaigrette based. Any menu item with "Ste. Anne" in the name is worth trying as there's something special about the dish. The Ste. Anne burger gets its moniker given they raise the cattle - something I realized after lunch. Wandering their property, to make my ways to the stables, I saw the herd grazing on grass and making their way down from the rolling hills towards the water fountain. Looking into their large eyes, as they lapped up the water, made me instantly feel guilty about how much I loved the burger. The butter tart is also called the "Ste. Anne" butter tart and is created on site at their bakery. It was my kind of desseert: a thin crispy crust filled with a gooey filling that's sweet, but not in a teeth hurting manner. In lieu of brown sugar they use a flavourful maple syrup, which gives it an added depth.

Yelp
Setting up the spa overnight stay was easy. Gave them a call and was given all the options in terms of accommodations with the disadvantages of each rooms. Unfortunately all the main inn rooms were reserved(which I would have preferred after arriving). Spa package that I went with was the overnight stay all inclusive meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner). All the meals were delicious considering it was infinite refills on the food! Staff were nice and worked towards ensuring all the people who came were happy at all times! Massage chairs were well maintained and very clean. Hot tubs could be found in change rooms, common area and even in the rooms.

Yelp
Where do I begin? I did an overnight package in November and had a blast (solo trip). I read the reviews so had an idea of what I was getting into and am so grateful to have found this place in such a short time and they were able to accommodate me. All the staff at Ste. Anne is great and provides exceptional customer service and hospitality. Check in: Smooth. Waiver and questionnaire to fill out. Once complete, guests are provided with an orientation/tour of the spa and the facilities. If you arrive early, you are able to access the facilities until your room or treatment is ready. Luggage can be stored in locker provided or in a locked room. Treatment: I had the Seaweed body wrap spa treatment with Ian. It is a one-hour treatment that includes foot, arm and scalp massage. Ian was fantastic and personable. He also let you know what his next steps was and why he is doing what he is doing to make you feel comfortable. I would recommend him if interested in this spa treatment. Food: The food is excellent, and they feed you well! So much so that on two occasions I took my remaining food to go (breakfast and lunch). Although you pre-pay for your food you are provided with a menu to choose from so it's not pre-selected. The menus also cater to gluten free and vegan diets. The teas are very nice. During my stay I had three teas: The Garden Chai, White honey fig and Detox green tea. I enjoyed them all. Meals are 3-courses. Accommodation: I stayed at the Grafton Inn because all the rooms on site were taken at the time of my booking. Ste. Anne uses this property to accommodate the high demand of guests that visit their location. It is a 5-minute drive from the spa and offers a charming, warm, country feel. Although it is offsite, Ste Anne cleaning staff still do housekeeping and the same amenities available in the onsite rooms are also available here. The only thing is when I was there the TV did not work; but wi-fi is available. There is a nook in the hallway of you want tea or coffee. One thing I like about this accommodation is it is in a house that has multiple rooms so don't expect the "hotel" feel. Facilities: There are a lot of areas inside and outside the spa to sit down and relax, sleep, reflect and/or meditate. The hydrotherapy pools are fantastic. The 4 pools go from lukewarm to hot which is nice especially since these are outdoors. The idea is to move to each pool, stay for a certain time and repeat (similar to the Scandinavian spa except there are no cold baths). The sauna and steam room were closed due to Covid. I used Ste. Anne's gym and was impressed with the amount of equipment they have. It was nice to be in the gym and use weights. There is also 3 trails that you can take advantage of depending on how long/far you want to talk. I took the longest trail which was about a hour walk and enjoyed it tremendously. There are other services onsite that are available to take advantage off at no-charge or a small fee. Additional services: Ste. Anne spa offers a shuttle service that will drive you around where you need to go without you having to drive. For example, I was driven to and picked up from Grafton Inn. I was dropped off and picked up from the gym. This service is offered 24/7. Another perk is at the front desk they have spare phone charges and adaptors for android and iPhone. I would recommend this spa to everyone. It is a place to visit at least once. Everyone (staff and non-staff) are friendly. I was pleasantly surprised as I did not know such a place existed in Ontario. It is pricey but in my opinion, it was worth it and you can control how much you want to spend.

Yelp
Now it's been about five years since I visited Ste Anne's - but I feel it important to write this review. I attended in my third trimester of pregnancy with my husband for a getaway. On calling to inquire before making reservations; I asked many questions related to hygiene and cleanliness (and was assured it was sanitary). I made it clear I didn't want to risk illness at this stage of pregnancy. I also requested the best senior massage therapists for our stay in one of their cottages. Here's what happened: - I caught rotavirus immediately after the trip and spent a good part of the week following my stay in the bathroom - our senior massage therapists I thought I had secured before the stay on reservation did not attend to us. We got instead two very junior therapists and I had the worst massage I've ever experienced at the highest cost. I was later advised by staff they were very busy that weekend so had called in extra therapists. I suppose my reservation and request meant nothing. When I called post trip to advise I became ill, I spoke with the manager who indeed told me there was an outbreak at the facility during the month of my stay. This was definitely not communicated to me by the staff when I called that month prior to reserving. I made it clear - prior to making reservations - I did not want to risk illness during my last trimester and was not advised an outbreak occurred. I would not spend my money at this spa. It is considered luxury by Ontario standards but it really isn't all that luxury. And most importantly - they should care more for their guests if they purport to be about well being. Maybe by now they've updated their procedures and take better care of their guests.

Yelp
My rating is 4.5. Might be 5 stars if I weren't there during renovations, and some of the areas needing attention were tended to. I had absolutely no idea what to expect, but once we arrived, we were given our robes in our tote bags, and shown where to go, and what to do to start making the most of our visit, before our room was ready for us. It can be a little much to take in on your first visit, but staff are very good at explaining exactly what you need to know, and providing recommendations. Once we got settled into a couple of lockers and into our robes, we were good to go for the rest of our visit. It was nice to see so many other QMDT'ers - quality-mommy-daughter-time'ers. We wandered around, investigated all the pools, tubs, and steam baths, and were then ready for our first meal sitting, which was high tea. We had a beautiful window side seat and got familiar with the menu offerings, which always includes the signatures teas and drinks, along with the entrees for that particular meal, plus desserts. The food is FANTASTIC - everything is local, from their own farms if possible, and highlights all kinds of treats that are not your everyday fare - gluten free breads that you wouldn't know if they didn't tell you, and things with tofu that likewise would go unnoticed if you weren't told. Most of the dishes were light on salt, which was much appreciated. You will eat till you burst within a 24 hour period, and enjoy every bit of it. Many of the ice creams are made with coconut milk rather than dairy, and just about everyone at one point will ask for part of the meal to be packed up for later. The grounds are beautiful, with so many gardens and trails to explore. There's a stable with boarding service for horses, and features like fish ponds and other natural features all over the property. The main inn and surrounding area has a lot of history, and there's still some old world charm left. Every common room has puzzles and scrabble to chill out and relax quietly. You can even go to dinner in your robe if you feel like it, although it's the one time you may wish to put on some very comfortable/casual clothes. There were a few issues with some of the lockers not working, and the main bathroom by the dining hall looking a bit tired and scuffed, and heating in the bedroom that was too much; but, overall, a lovely experience. Hope to be able to go back again.

Yelp
Just came back from my day trip to Ste Anne's Spa. Wonderful experience! I purchased the 'All Inclusive Day Spa Package' for $215.00. The package includes lunch, afternoon tea, $120 credited towards the spa treatment of your choice and complete access to the facility. I started my day with a massage followed by a wonderful lunch, a hot apple cider with a shaved beef on a ciabatta bun. The food was delicious and the service was extremely friendly. Following my lunch, I took a dip in the hot tub and some down time in the eucalyptus sauna. The hot tub was perfect with the cool air mixing with the heat from the tub. The Eucalyptus room is a steam room with eucalyptus oil added to the water. I found the eucalyptus room to be a bit over powering but there are many other activities available at Ste Annes. Later in the afternoon I enjoyed my first 'tea time'. Sweet and savory finger sized snacks. A perfect light snack to end my first experience at Ste Anne's Spa.

Yelp
My entire experience here was so fantastic - from the booking process to the entire stay. Staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the process. Upon arrival, we were greeted right away and given a thorough orientation to the building and services. Everything is clean, beautiful, and cozy - the perfect spa getaway. We got a Fall package that included afternoon tea and a few meals, and the food was amazing! Everything tasted like farm to table ingredients and the portions were great. The massage service was fantastic, and all the various amenities were excellent. The eucalyptus steam room smelled delicious. I wish the pools were open, but we are hoping to be back in the warmer weather when the Hyrotherapy construction is all complete! We stayed in the Finch room, and it was quite comfortable. We did get to enjoy the beautiful trails outside, and the view is stunning. I would definitely come back! Note: It books up fast!

Yelp
In Grafton Ontario, on lovely farm land. There is a main paved road leading to the spa or a gravel road through the trees with cute road signs. I had purchased a wag jag for my mom and I to come so we were given a room in the Birdsong cottage, vs in the main inn. Check in was at 2pm where they would give an orientation of the property. My mom did not want the tour so we just went to relax in the massage chairs of the quiet room. There was water and apples in this room, along with sofas and puzzles on tables. I was a little annoyed that our tea time was 3pm and my massage was at 3:30. I could not relax and enjoy my snacks as I had to rush to my treatment. Mom's was at 3:45. The dining room (old treatment waiting room) had inside and outdoor seating. The ladies change room is clean, spacious and has hot tub and saunas in it along with hair dryers, lockers, etc. The waiting room for treatments (the old dining room) has sofas, tables, puzzles, tea, coffee, water, biscotti and granola. I had the deep tissue massage and the room was comfortable and therapist very skilled. The eucalyptus steam room has towels just outside and water. The grotto with hot tub, cold plunge pool is just outside from the steam room and quiet room. There is another lounge room just past the treatment waiting room and plenty of outdoor muskoka chairs and bistro tables, benches, etc. The pool was not open yet. The birdsong cottage is a short drive away...close to the bakery. Last time I stayed in the inn and it was definitely more convenient for using the quiet room or lounges and bikes. There are walking trails and stables as well.

Yelp
Came with my sister for her birthday! It was my first time here and didn't quite know what to expect at a spa that was $250/person. Upon driving in, you can already feel the tranquil environment as the building is quaint. There are signs urging you to use a quieter voice and put away your cell phones. I almost felt like I was on a retreat! We were warmly (and quietly) greeted by the front staff who were kind and prompt in giving us our robes. If you've never spent the entire day in a fluffy robe, this is the place for you!! Every part of this resort feels like a magical zen retreat. We started off the day with seaweed body wraps, which I HIGHLY recommend to anybody. Since we drove all the way from Toronto, we wanted to get a treatment that wasn't readily available in our area. My therapist Ashley was amazing and made me feel very comfortable and safe throughout the duration of the treatment. Lunch and tea time were served in their newly renovated dining hall. Much like the rest of the staff throughout the spa, the waitresses were very accommodating and the food came out relatively quickly. My sister and I were not a fan of the fall menu for tea time but the lunch menu was amazing!! I recommend the trout and beef tataki salad. Both are light but filling options- perfect for a day of relaxing! The strawberry rhubarb ice cream is also to die for. Definitely not something you can find anywhere and it's vegan! I was very surprised to also see that the spa itself is very clean. I am a huuuuuge OCD germaphobe but Ste. Anne's does an amazing job at keeping everything clean and pleasing. The spa's amenities include: dry sauna, eucalyptus steam room, massage chairs/lounge, outdoor and indoor hot tub, and outdoor cold plunge. Overall, money well spent and I would gladly come back anytime!

Yelp
Reason for Visit: Looking for a Xmas get away from the city life with significant other. Services: First thing I will mention is that this place is on the higher end of price. You are easily looking at a bill of ~$600+ if you stay over night. I got their deep tissue massage+ shiatsu massage. It was extremely professional, my two masseuses were very friendly and skilled. Music was very soothing and atmosphere was relaxing. Definitely very high quality services. If you are staying overnight, they also have a 24/7 taxi service where they can drive you from the spa back to your cottage. Food: They are not kidding when they say their food is hearty and healthy. Not a single fried item on the menu. Everything is on the menu with some thought and most items actually have things that are grown/raised at Ste Anne's themselves. The waiter/waitresses are also very generous in giving extra portions if you are hungry especially at dessert (I had no shame asking for extra ice cream every meal). Their coconut ice cream is definitely top tier. Atmosphere: The atmosphere here definitely makes you want to stay here forever. They are actually renovating for a new bigger hot tub system, hopefully go live by 2019. Overall: The only reason why I gave 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 is because I am broke for the holidays and unable to do any Christmas shopping. If this place has more promotions or prices are a bit cheaper, then I think more people would be able to spend some time at Ste. Anne's. If you are able to fork out some big bucks, then Ste. Anne's is definitely a spa worth visiting. Note: they also have a limo/bus service to take you to Ste. Anne's from Toronto if you can't drive

Yelp
This is what I think heaven should be!!! The best day spa in Ontario IMHO! I usually go by using the Diva for the Day package, Diva Day Spa at Ste. Anne's will now include a 3-course lunch, afternoon tea buffet, complete use of the extensive facilities and a choice of one of the following spa treatments: * 1/2 hour Caribbean Aqua Therapy * 1/2 hour Caribbean Foot Rejuvenation * 1/2 hour Essential Oil Scalp Rejuvenation * 1/2 hour Pure Aroma Massage I also have the seaweed body masque, Moor Mud Hydro wrap, deep tissue massage, reflexlogy when I visit Ste Annes a various time! The food is great and is healthy too.. For lunch you have choice of appetitzer, self serve salad bar, main course and a dessert. You cannot imagine spa lunch can be so yummy. For afternoon tea, you got to pick from a menu of over 10 different teas and then you can go and help yourself with little bite side cakes, biscuits, cheese and sandwiches (ok and a really chocolate chocolate brownies) There are always little snacks in the spa waiting area and the fruity spa water are available too! All the staffs are so professional. All my treatments were excellent! I love all the Aveda products they provide everywhere, in the showers, in the washroom... ahahahah! And the grounds are so gorgerous! I enjoyed walking on the trails, hanging out on the hammock and the loungers by the pool, having a soak in the outdoor whirlpool! (nothing beat in the hot tub when it is snowing!) I wish I can be an overnight guests some day soon!

Yelp
This is one of my favourite places and have been coming here for years. I prefer the day spa to stretch my dollar a bit further and usually do 3-4 treatments during the day. Today I went with my Mom and sister and we booked two treatments each. This left us with lots of time to hang out between treatments. We had lunch and afternoon tea in the beautiful tea room by the windows. Lunch was delicious and tea was fabulous with tiny bite size pieces of everything to ensure that you get to try a lot. The washrooms, facilities and grounds are always spotless and well manicured. My absolute favourite spot is sitting on a chaise under their massive old maple tree just taking it all in. Heaven.

Yelp
Good service and excellent food! Although in the middle of a pandemic, more could be done to ensure physical distancing - common areas felt crowded and some tables in the dining room we're not spaced 6 feet. But my requests to be seated elsewhere were accommodated. They allow guests to wear their spa robes to dinner which I found took away from the experience. Although judging by the number of people dining in robes - they clearly enjoyed it. We stayed at the Martha Robinson Cellar - rustic and small, but remodelled recently, it's the closest to the main building - very convenient. Although there were two big negatives - (1) the flooring creaks and the guests in the upstairs suite kept us awake at night at no fault of their own; (2) the door has a complex lock that doesn't work well - trying to operate it was extremely frustrating - I feel like our collective blood pressure went up every time we had to deal with it. For the love of God, St. Anne's, please change it! There are no TVs in rooms, which is the intention I suppose, but would have been good to know. Outdoor baths are okay, but not as good as Scandinave Spa. There are some trails - although not many - and a decent bakery nearby. Given the food is included in the price our expectation was quite low - but every meal was absolutely delicious and there was a multitude of choices, including gluten-free and vegan options if you're looking for those. We visited the spa a few weeks ago in November.

Yelp
Ste. Anne's is at the top of my list if I ever decide to book a spa getaway. I came here with a friend for a day spa experience just as the weather was starting to get cold, but we were still able to use the heated pool outside, which was super relaxing. We also visited the gluten-free bakery and purchased several impressive products, including shortbread cookies and butter tarts. Both my friend and I were very happy with our treatments (a facial and massage); this is one of the only times I've come close to falling asleep during a treatment because I was so relaxed! The products they use smell wonderful and you can buy any of these in the spa gift shop. I'd love to visit in the summer and walk around the property, which is gorgeous at any time of year. There's something to be said abut actually getting AWAY to a spa outside the city and taking time for real relaxation. I highly recommend that you arrive early to make the most of your day spa experience; the time will go by much more quickly than you might expect!

Yelp
I am finally writing a review for my favourite place on earth. I have been coming to St. Anne's for years now and it never disappoints. If you come for the day, you arrive at 9am and stay till 6pm which includes lunch (around noon) and afternoon tea (around 3pm), your choice of a wellness class if you wish (yoga, meditation, stretch, etc) and a treatment somewhere in there. Your itinerary is emailed to you upon booking and a copy is provided as soon as you arrive along with your robe that you get to wear the whole day (including at meals). The food is delicious, well presented and small portions. But if you are hungry, just order more. They are really good about that! I used to go for the day but since the drive is about 1.5 hours from mississauga, I now come for an overnight. If you stay overnight, you arrive around 1pm and get afternoon tea and dinner on the first day, then breakfast and lunch on the 2nd day with a checkout at noon on day 2...but you can use the facilities until 230pm. I have stayed even later and they have never kicked me out! I really want to stay 2 nights at some point because the time just flies when you are there! The facilities are great! I have never stayed at the main inn but I have stayed at the innkeepers cottage (10 min walk), the gables cottage (5min walk) and also the farmhouse cottage (5 min) and all 3 are excellent and have wifi. If you don't want to walk there is a shuttle. Turn down service includes a chocolate on your pillow. A nice touch! Cottages are fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body ways, q-tips, shower cap, etc and full kitchen with glasses, corkscrew, fridge, kettle, etc. They have a great pool outside with lots of lounges and towels. The gym is about a 20 minute walk from the main inn but they have shuttles that can take you or of course you can drive yourself. Amazing trails to run or walk. Eucalyptus steam is a must. Tips: - bringing your own wine is awesome. They have a wine fridge and will store it for you and open it at lunch and/or dinner. I like to open a bottle at the cottage before dinner. The cottages have such lovely sitting areas it is perfect to relax before a fabulous meal. - if you are coming in the summer, go during the week. Very busy on weekends... - they always have granola, apples, biscotti and one of their teas and coffees brewed in the waiting room. Bring a travel mug with you so that you can fill it up for the drive home. - bring a couple of swimsuits for the pool and hot tubs. I also like to bring my own flip flops and slippers. - at dinner, bring your suit and then ask for your tea in a to go cup after dinner and do a hot tub under the stars. Amazing! Enjoy!

Yelp
I have never been to a spa so I can't even compare it to anything. But I really enjoyed the day here celebrating my friend's shower/bachelorette :) I was actually looking at another spa (where my friend was proposed to) but it was fully booked as we had planned too late. So based on Jen K's recomendation I frantically booked with St. Anne's w/ about 2 weeks to go. Should really book a month in advance as we nearly had trouble getting RMTs for all of us (there were 4) but Cynthia went above and beyond and booked them for us + planned our itinerary. The drive from Toronto wasn't too bad. We were immediately greeted by a staff member and took a tour around and were given Ste. Anne's tote bags w/ a robe. The bride to be later told me at other spas they often charge you for the robe. Anyhow, we couldn't wait for the day spa to begin! Yoga class - it was very gentle but the instructor threw in some lunge/side twists & some of us even got to do full pigeon! Food - delish!!!! most of us went for the daily special, which was the cream of mushroom ( it was so rich... so good!) and the salmon meatball on whole wheat pasta w/ cream sauce. I was honestly very stuffed after lunch. Tea - damn.. it was like another meal!!! lots of samplers and bite size items :D can we do this everyday? :) oh no... the smiley faces are starting again... Facilities- absolutely enjoyed the hot/warm/cold tub! it was so relaxing.... and the steam room was prob. my favourite. ahhh :) i think I will come back in the summer so we could use the outdoor pool. 1 hr swedish massage - got to pick between 3 diff oils and let's just say i did fall asleep half way. emily was amazing and at times i felt the muslces on my back 'crack' but in a good way lol Overall, it was a great experience and would love to be back soon! The place was cozy and warm. It was almost like being home but u get to be spoiled and not do n e thing ....plus excellent food & service :)

Yelp
I visited the day spa at Ste Anne's as a girl's getaway back in February and had an amazing time - definitely recommend it and I would love to go back. With the weather being cooler (and not enough snow), we couldn't explore the full property (though it did look gorgeous). However, we thoroughly enjoyed our massages, and doing the circuit between the steam room and the heated & cold plunge pools outdoors. Meals (lunch and afternoon tea) were both great, clean and nutritious and they were very accommodating for vegetarians. They also have the best massage chairs and sun-soaked rooms for lounging. You do need to make recommendations far in advance most of the time so do plan ahead.

Yelp
Went here on recommendation from another Yelper, Jennifer K, when I asked her for a cost effective all day spa. The process was relatively painless and they helped me through my questions being a guy and a spa noob. Though the constant reminder of the deposit was a bit daunting. Anyhoo. The ride going there was good as it was against the flow of rush hour traffic unlike taking the ride to Blue Mountain over the 400 which is in a state of constant rush hour anyway. I only did one spa service, the Ste. Anne Signature Facial. It just adds a little bit more to the cost of the daily spa getaway, but it is very much worth it. SPOILER ALERT When I was called down by the aesthetician, Vanessa, I was surprised when I saw the foot bowl. I was thinking facial is just the face thing, but it was started with a pleasant foot scrub, followed by a blindfolded scent testing. I chose the strongest one because it wasn't too "yucky" in smell like those perfumes you smell at the Bay or walking around New York City in the 90s. I got put on a bed, which with my dark imagination looked like a sacrificial bed where some priest is going to stab me through the heart, only with blankets and pillows. The heated blanket was OH SO AWESOME, I am so tempted to go to Costco/Sears/Walmart to buy one. In the room I got a face massage that goes all the way to the bottom of the neck area and the top part of my chest. Apparently, women show their age in that area which is why it goes that far. The exfoliants felt pretty much on the dot for my skin type, which was apparently on the dry side. It had a slight tingling sensation, but not burning. While the exfoliants were working, I also got a massage on my arm and legs. Though the bad part is you would leave the warmness of the blanket, at least it wasn't too long because the massage and the massage oils did warm me up. When I go back I would try to get Vanessa again. I don't really need to remember anyway, because it gets recorded for my next visit. END OF SPOILERS For lunch where the price of the food was included, I got the beef lasagna and hot apple cider. Ooooohhhh, the hot apple cider tasted so natural. You can even taste a little bit of the peel. The lasagna was awesome as well the tomatoes they used just taste much better than the run of the mill tomato sauces I have eaten elsewhere. Closest good one was the San Marzan Tomatoes used in Shiso Tree's Lobster Pasta. The beef tasted so good with it. For the group activity, we did the PM Yoga. Which was a restorative yoga run. The instructor was very patient with my inflexible body. Near the end of the yoga exercises there was a "reward" phase where then let you lie back on a pillow and have an aromatic face mask. At this point, my wife was just working hard to keep herself awake, I helped though by snoring ... LOUDLY (apparently I feel asleep). For high tea I had the gluten free sampler and another apple cider. I had a taste of their smoked salmon from the savory sampler and it was oooh so yummy too. The next time I come here I will try to be "less excited" I didn't get much sleep the night before and the environment was just too relaxing that my wife and I pretty much slept around rather than exploring all the facilities. It's a good thing I only did one spa service. One other thing, I liked the granola bits, even bought a pack home. Goes well with oatmeal

Yelp
Crankily sitting in front of my computer at work with my hair sticking to my face from the dreaded Toronto humidity, a phone call from my boyfriend regarding a weekend getaway to a certain spa just about an hour out of the city was certainly welcome. I have three words for you ladies and gentlemen: SAINT ANNE'S SPA. This place, just east of the city, is heaven on earth. Why, you ask. Because you get to where robes everywhere - to dinner, to tea, to the multitude of hammocks placed around the sprawling grounds. Because you get to walk in and out of a eucalyptus steam room only to find yourself in a cool spring pool or a hot tub entrenched in turn of the century stone. Because you get wrapped in hot towels or rubbed down by total strangers any time of day. I could go on... I hate to put a damper on my wonderful adventure, but in St. Anne's there is of course a price to pay for happiness. Luckily if you catch a last minute special - a minimum of 5 days before you arrive - the price to happiness drastically decreases.

Yelp
The grounds at Ste Anne's Spa are so tranquil and beautiful. The view from the dining patio is gorgeous. I came here w/ 8 girlfriends for a spa weekend. At first I was weary as the prices are sky high but when you work out what you get it feels more worth it. I can't say I would do this regularly nor would I return unless I went on a week day or found a way to make the trip more cost effective. We paid approx $565 for 1 night in a spa cottage. Here are my ratings: Spa amenities and massage - 5: loved tanning by the pool area. Especially loved being able to BYOW/BYOB and drink anywhere on the property, even at meals. Disliked their policy on not being able to choose a female or male RMT. Cottage (Casa Del Sol) - 5: Huge. Modern. Clean. Comfy beds. This cottage is just across the street from the spa grounds making it very easy to dart across in your bathrobe :) Meals - 3.5: Most people rave about the meals here. For me, the only meal that stood out as stellar was the chef cooked dinner in our cottage. The striploin was cooked perfectly and all the sides were tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. For me, the high tea was just okay. Great selection on beverages, meh on the food except for the scones which were delicious. Breakfast was not great - the poached eggs were very very overdone. Lunch - I ordered the burger which is said to be the best thing there - it was extremely dry. The service was always top notch though. And you can order as many things as you want :)

Yelp
Beautiful place. Great services. Good food. Love the bakery especially. Price point is what you would expect given the aesthetic and services offered. I would like to be able to pick a service or two to receive without having to purchase packages/days, but I do understand it is how they need to operate and I know sooo many people who love to go and have no issues with that set up! Especially given the drive for some. It really is a gorgeous location with so much to offer.

Yelp
I just returned from a 2 day mini vacay to Ste Anne's Spa. It was pure bliss. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire stay. Check in was very quick and they gave me a quick tour. I arrived early (11am) and was able to store my items in a locker until my room became available. The locker rooms are very spacious with lots of amenities to enjoy. I had lunch, afternoon tea, & dinner, as well as 2 spa treatments on the first day; breakfast & 1 spa treatment on the second day. I really liked that they are so flexible with meal times and I was able to switch a few times to better suit my schedule. I wasn't too impressed with the Afternoon Tea but it was mostly good. The staple scones & clotted cream was missing from the menu which was something I was looking forward to. Oh well. Everything else was excellent. I would highly recommend the aroma stone massage. It was literally heavenly. I can't remember a time where I have had such an enjoyable spa treatment massage before. It was so relaxing. I tried the eucalyptus steam room also and it was really neat. I also had an invigorating body scrub that I probably wouldn't have again, and a facial that was so much more than just for the face! I really enjoyed the facial & aroma stone massage. There are plenty of areas to sit to relax, and some books & puzzles to enjoy. There are no tvs but there is wifi available, and there is relaxing acoustic music played throughout the facility to encourage relaxation. I stayed in the main building overnight and the room I stayed in was very nice with a cute balcony looking South towards the lake. Watching the sun rise in the morning was delightful. It is an all inclusive resort so they say no tipping is necessary. It felt a little strange not leaving a tip and I hope that tips are somehow included in the booking fees so the servers & therapists are rewarded for their excellent service. I would definitely return there again, hopefully soon!

Yelp
This is a great place to get away from it all for a few days. I've been 3 or 4 times and will no doubt return many more. Some highlights and lowlights: - it's about a 90 minute drive from d/t Toronto, or a nice train ride from Union Station - the furnishings have seen better days, chairs could use some upholstering - bathrooms are amazing, some have fireplaces, double soaker jet tubs - come with an appetite...breakfast is amazing, afternoon tea and lunches are great, dinners are hit or miss. - if you want to drink, bring your own, alcohol is not offered - the spa services are amazing...all of them! - trying to coordinate or book dates is frustrating (-1 star), especially if you are working out schedules with friends so best to book way in advance. - staff, for the most part, are very upbeat and eager to please - I do feel it's a bit pricey for 2 people sharing 1 room...I believe the price would be the same if you and a friend got separate rooms, but if you're a couple or siblings, you want to be in the same room. There should be some pricing consideration in these cases.

Yelp
Best spa getaway! Came here last Sunday for a getaway on my own to relax and get away from Scarborough and my bedroom. They had a great deal of 299 for breakfast lunch dinner and afternoon tea, 120 spa credit, cottage accommodations, unlimited non alcoholic drinks, and use of all facilities. I was only an hour drive and no traffic. On their own pathway they road signs to get you in the spa state of mind. My room wasn't ready but I knew that it wouldn't be as I got there for 1. They give you a reusable bag and slippers and a robe. I wore the robe my entire stay which is great because I hate pants. Even at dinner you can wear it. They gave me a quick tour and then I was waiting for my first treatment. You can put your stuff in a locker. This locker gave me a headache because if you didn't press hard enough it didn't recognize the number and then my stuff ended getting locked in there so I had to get someone to override it. I'd suggest using a code with 4 of the same digits like 3333. so many people thought their locker was locked but I opened so many trying to find one to use that had people's stuff in there. In the spa waiting room you can have tea or coffee or water. They also have biscotti and homemade granola. The granola was super yummy! Someone comes to get you and I was taken to my aroma stone treatment. Personally I wouldn't recommend this. I felt like a lot of time was wasted with prepping and at times she wasn't even massaging so I didn't like that. It did feel really good when she did but I don't feel like I got my worth out of it. After I had afternoon tea which was amazing. I had the sampler so I got to try everything. The cucumber sandwiches were the best I ever had and the scones were delish. I got the feathery pear tea which was nice and light. I was sitting on the patio with a beautiful view. Be warned that they have tons of flies so a lot of my time was spent swatting them away from my food. My room was ready after and they have a shuttle that can take you. I loved the room. It was huge for one person and had a real country feel to it. There isn't a TV but that's the point of this place. There is a fireplace and puzzles and an ipod radio in the room. I left right away to go back and sit in the hammock. It was in a gazebo with wind chimes above. They don't sell alcohol but you can bring yours and take it anywhere you want to enjoy it. No charge. They don't have soda so keep that in mind. I was in peace enjoying my wine and book. I had my back cleanse treatment after. I can't even say much about this because I fell asleep so it must have been great. After I had dinner. The tomato soup was really salty and the special pasta was bland. Was not fond of the bread. The creme brulee and tres leches cake was amazing though. And I would get the apple cider. It was so nice and hot. In the dining room a European lady Iilya I'm not sure of her name and a young guy with dark brown hair were absolutely great and provided great service. I tried the eucalyptus steam room after and it is crazy hot. You can barely last a minute but honestly it feels so nice and you feel all your sinuses cleared. Definitely recommend this. For breakfast they have a hot breakfast and buffet. The pancakes were so yummy. I had my facial with Robert and he was so nice. The other two ladies who did my treatments weren't as friendly. You get a foot massage first and he goes over the process thoroughly with you. While your mask is on he massages your legs and arms and head. He was fantastic! I had lunch next and it was a yummy beef Chili. I had the burger with a kale and quinoa salad. It was great. Overall my experience was pretty good. I was sad it rained the next day but that's out of their control. I would definitely come back to take advantage of another deal as it is pricy. I would like to try a yoga class. I wish a free one was included but you could always use your spa credit towards it. Thanks so much Ste. Anne's!

Yelp
This was my second time at Ste.Annes. It's in a great location for a short getaway from Toronto. I did 2 spa treatments- a facial and hot stone massage. The massage was heavenly! Would definitely recommend. The facial I wouldn't do again... just your basic cleansing, mask, moisturizing with an essential oil for you "sensory journey". My skin was quite dry after so I went and applied my regular moisturizer after. I did not enjoy either of the treatment spaces for the massage or facial however. They were both extremely unrelaxing due to the noise from people talking outside. And the worst part was these were staff having the conversations. At one point a male masseuse was telling a client how to stretch, naming the muscles in the upper body and doing breathing techniques. It was so distracting, I really could not relax. The same thing happened for my facial, but it was 2 female staff cackling and carrying on about their easter plans. I realize the sound proofing of such a busy establishment in an old building can not be helped, but I feel like people; especially the staff, should be mindful to not carry on in the hallways. Perhaps earplugs could be offered to guests during treatments as well. The only other con was the price. It was approx $400 for 2 treatments and the day at the spa and food. Perhaps because it was easter weekend the prices were higher as I don't remember it being that pricey. I don't want to make this a completely negative review as the grounds are beautiful and the food is delicious at both meals.

Yelp
The most relaxing spa I know - just remembering it makes my shoulders come down and I sigh. The grounds are lovely, no matter what time of year. The pace is slow and leisurely. The food is excellent. My only complaint is the price - wish it was cheaper so I could go more often !

Yelp
I wish I could write a review about one experience at this spa, unfortunately (or fortunately) depends how you look at it; I have been there about five times....guilty as charged. :) Every experience I have had at this spa has been nothing short of incredible. From the greeting to the final bill the staff at Ste Anne's really take precautions in ensuring their guests have the best experience possible. The spa is about 1 hr. and 45 min. from downtown Toronto. So those of you who live in the "cement jungle" will appreciate the open fields and serenity of this spa. They also offer a great package during the summer called the "Renewal Day Spa." It really is an awesome deal. You get $100 of spa services, a three-course lunch, use of the facilities all day long, a wellness class (I recommend the meditation or yoga) and teatime :) Some spas advertise the "use of their facilities" in their packages and you think you are getting a great deal. Yet when you get there you realize their facilities are nothing more than just one steam room and a cold pool. You don't use either and leave feeling like you were lied to. Ste Anne's is not that spa. Their "facilities" include a room where you can sun bathe and read a quiet book while waiting for your RMT to call you for your treatment. Or if you're looking for an even quieter room there is one close to the dining area. They also have three pools outside, a hot tub, medium pool and a cold dip pool. And if you're feeling especially athletic they also have a large pool, a tennis court and walking trails. Or if you're feeling a little lazy they have hammocks... :) The food is amazing. The only complaint I have is that the portions are quite small. However, the last time we were there we complained about the portions and our server brought us (my 4 girlfriends and I) a second serving, as well as second servings for teatime! I have visited this spa in the summer and winter and each time it is equally charming. Staying overnight is a wonderful experience as well. They used to have a minimum of a two night stay, not sure if this is still in effect. It can tend to get a little pricey this way. Also for those of you who cannot live without your television be forewarned there are no TV's in the rooms. They do offer small TV's but you must request this service. In the morning the staff brings a small basket with fruit to your room. I have even had the staff park my car for me :). They're very accommodating. I think I could go on and on about this spa....plus at the end of the day, for those of you who have insurance benefits, the icing on the cake truly is that you get to claim $100 back of RMT services. Now where else can you go for the entire day for only $59 plus tax? Just make sure to make your reservations in advance because they book up very quickly. And make sure there's still a spot left for me! Any questions please contact me at npmyasmeen@gmail.com

Yelp
I love it here! If I were made of money, I would do an overnight here every month. Alas, I've only been able to make an annual trip up. It has the charm of a quaint country cottage, with a modern spa facility full of therapeutic treatments. The food is fantastic. However, I did order something that I didn't love, and was offered another choice without hesitation. The host/greeter, Richard (i think), super duper nice guy. In fact, everyone was super nice and accommodating. Having access to the horses is a nice touch.

Yelp
I went here last weekend with my mom and had a wonderful time. Customer service: The customer service was superb from the second we walked through the door. We were greeted by the receptionist and she gave us the tour and explained how everything worked. Treatment: I had the signature facial. It started off with a foot scrub which was really nice. The overall treatment was really relaxing but it would have been nice if the esthetician told me what she was putting on my face. I really loved the hand and foot massage. Lunch and afternoon tea: DELICIOUS! I started off with the chili which was a little bland so I asked for the soup of the day which was an english clam chowder and it was delicious. For the main dish, my mom had the salmon tacos and she really liked them. For dessert we had the raspberry mousse (tasted ok) and the lemon cheesecake (so good!) Facilities: I found some of the facilities quite small. There were about 8 of us in the steam room and it felt a little crowded. The warm plunge and the hot bath are also fairly small. I went early so I was able to enjoy the hot bath with just my mom and I but with two other people in it, it would have felt too crowded. I was happy to learn that they are expanding and will have bigger outdoor baths by the end of next year. Overall, it's a really relaxing environment with great customer service.

Yelp
She said yes. Awesome overnight stay. Food was great and plentiful, the chef just launched a new menu and we both thought the food was awesome. Staff were great and accommodating. We stayed in the Eagle's nest which was an awesome cottage room, highly recommend for any couples looking for their own little get away. Enjoyed a couples massage and both rmts were great; I regularly get massages and enjoy a deep tissue massage and Rick was great. Loved the grotto and massage chairs. We finally topped the 5 star stay off with a proposal and she said yes! We'll be back soon.

Yelp
I went the first time cause it was my birthday! at first i throught the price was too much! But once i arrived i felt like i was on a vacation! Walked in the frosted seen some live animals (birds). Then hoped in the hot tub and water and the other things that you can do. They even have a work out room-not sure why anyone would. its small. Went back and they change some things up for the better. You get your own locker for the day, a bag you take home. Each stay i had the day package. First trip came by train and limo (since i was the only one it was privet limo) the food was great and i had to ask for seconds! Second time I went with a firend and she drove. Food was great and we sat outside what a great view! Even asked for seconds cause it wsa soo good! Even had th eoutdoor pool and that was fun! I hope to go back again!!! thye changed up the events also now they have hourse back riding!! After each vist i felt like i was away form my life for a week! Only downside is that you have to book more then a week ahead! I try to pray for good weather so i can set outside and relax!! Dont forget to get on the deal cause you get points! its just hard to get them..

Yelp
Many of my friends have gone for the day because getting overnight accommodation is really hard, rooms are limited but I got really lucky due to a last minute cancelation. When you stay overnight, all your meals are included (afternoon tea, breakfast, lunch, dinner), also 1 treatment, so facial or massage etc . . . my husband and I got a couple's massage and they were amazing, definitely one of the best we've ever had. On site, you can use their hot, cold pools, steam rooms, saunas, game rooms, bikes, hammocks, there's just too much stuff to name . . . everything is superb and the scenery everywhere is just breathtaking. We used their bikes to explore the estate which included a lavender farm, sheep farm, bakery, vegetable farm as well as manicured trails (so you can definitely just roam around the property with your given robes and flip flops during your stay for all indoor and outdoor activities)

Yelp
I have been to Ste Anne's twice and will be coming back for more! The facilities are AMAZING! I especially like the eucalyptus steam room. They have plenty of space including a quiet room to relax and read. I went once with my mom and sat by the fire (on a feather couch) to play a game of scrabble with her which was so nice. It's great to escape the rush of the city and the dependence on electronics and spend some time in nature. The food is also to die for. It's not traditional spa food but is hearty and delicious. The afternoon tea is almost the best part of a visit to Ste. Annes. I highly recommend the velvet earl tea, it's so yummy! I have had a few treatments at Ste Annes. I had a skin nourishment treatment which included a light massage, exfoliation and foot bath. That treatment was pretty good. I liked how got to take home the exfoliating gloves that were used. I have also had a Swedish massage there which is performed by a registered massage therapist. This was the best massage I have ever had in

Yelp
Mediocre food, fair spa services, dirty rooms, no ambiance. Need I say more??? Why on earth others rate this place so high is beyond me. Spending $1000 for a one-night stay is absurd unless the treatment you receive is above and beyond. Well, it was far from that. Next time, I'll find an RMT close by and go to a nice restaurant afterward. It will be cheaper and nicer and certainly a much shorter drive. St. Anne's will claim they have a 5 diamond rating, but they fail to mention that the rating is from CAA!!! Puleeze! One star at best and even that is too much to give them. Please, please do NOT spend your hard earned money to go to this over rated facility. I wish someone had warned me before I did.

Yelp
They pretty much have it right. And when they don't, they fix it 'til it is. They don't really need this review (and I guess this lowers their average, sorry!) But there were too many moments of wanting to pinch myself that I needed to write'em up! I'll try to keep it brief. I went for an overnight stay with my gf to celebrate her birthday using a coupon voucher. Yes, they do coupons, they also seem to have a relationship with spalotto.com; making things more affordable for those on a budget. To address that point, the pricetag does look steep -- and make no mistake, this isn't a value lodge -- but it's not as bad as it first appears. The pricetag includes four multi-course meals (breakfast, lunch, tea time & dinner), includes a hundred something credit for a spa service that's potentially re-imbursable by corporate health plans, credit for a wellness class, and unlimited use of their grounds (pools, tennis court + ball machine [seasonal], steam/sauna rooms), and unlimited drinks (coffee, tea & flavoured waters) and granola! Spoiler: Be sure to try their granola. Overall, you get what you pay for and thensome, making this an awesome value. Now, the details... Facilities: Stayed offsite at one of their houses (Eagle's Nest). Nice and clean, no issues with getting shuttle rides to/from the house when needed. Working fireplace, high ceilings, spacious rooms. They didn't have the room ready when we arrived, but that's likely because we got there before the official checkin time; despite that, they were still apologizing profusely for their tardiness. Their main house had beautiful views of Lake Ontario, so waiting for the room wasn't a problem. Trails across rolling hills would lead into some interesting forests & streams, we saw a woodpecker! The steam rooms & pools that we tried were nice, clean, and functional (i.e. hot water was hot, not warm). Their piece-de-resistance was their Eucalyptus steam room: if there ever was such a thing as a healing chamber, this would be it, :P We could've stayed in there forever. Food: Their dining room has a wonderful view, they rotate our table location for every meal, giving everyone a chance to sit by the window. We were lucky enough to get the window seat during lunch, when there was the most light. One word: breathtaking! While I'm not really one to know haute cuisine, I would consider their food haute cuisine. But you get filled up, like at a buffet, but with better food. The sad and great thing about our stay, was that there was so little time to experience everything the spa offers for our overnight, that you sometimes end up being time-crunched. We ended up being a bit late for our breakfast & lunch times, but there was no problem getting us in and providing the full experience. We were worried we had to give up our lunch dessert to get to our couples massage on time, so when they matter-of-factly provided take-out containers for our dessert course that we didn't even start, they earned their gold stars, then and there. People: We were likely nowhere close to their worst patrons, but we likely weren't their easiest. Neither of us have stayed here overnight, so we were clueless on what to expect. There were plenty of questions, as well as demands, as this was supposed to be a surprise stay for my gf; so reservations, notifications, reward point allocations, all needed to be handled a bit different from normal. The staff handled it all gracefully; patient with every question, request, comment or backstory that we had throughout our stay. It's crazy how the word "no" is seemingly missing from their vocabulary, or how they never learned to frown. But it's not like they're barbie & ken dolls: they talk like people (just really positive people), about their families, their experiences, etc. It sort of makes you think of sending them your resume...:P Misc: You can mostly tell from the way the business owner replies to the negative reviews they receive here (unlike others I've come across), that they're heavily invested, and truly committed, to making every customer experience a 5-star experience. In our situation, there were some issues with the communication of the deal package (what we initially received wasn't what was stated in the coupon details), leading to some extra payment. I sent in an email with some feedback, sent on a Sunday night (around 9pm) , and less than an hour later, a reply was received from the Operations Director (to be fair, the feedback was sent directly to him & others) that got the ball rolling towards a credit of that extra payment. The refund was nice, but the standout act was: who checks their work email at 9 pm on a Sunday AND replies back within the hour?! There's a lot more, but I'm at my character limit. So in closing, kudos to this business for having the zenith of product, service and environment in the Spa industry. I look forward to coming back for your fifth star (i.e. consistency).

Yelp
Overall, this was one of my best birthday experiences ever. I was sad to leave and the receptionist was pleased to hear that I enjoyed my stay and she gave me one of your roses before I left. I will definitely be back. You deserve the title of Best Spa in Ontario! You really can tell that you have taken the time to make this a unique and unforgettable experience for your guests. I want to thank everyone for making me feel so special, for the decadent food, the sublime treatments, great customer experiences and making my birthday truly memorable.

Yelp
This place is amazing, such attention to detail and accommodating everyone's needs. The food was great and the staff exceptional. Sure a little pricey but you pay for what you get in life and this place was well worth it.

Yelp
Just left Ste Annes Spa, and I'm so relaxed I feel like I'm floating. Staff were lovely, had a lovely lunch and spent most of the day in the outdoor hot tub. We had a couples Swedish massage by Dana and Mike and it was amazing and they were both fantastic people. The brochure upon arrival even gives you the owners details if you have any issues that the management can't resolve. We had no issues anyway but it's a nice touch. Wish now I was staying overnight :( I'm looking forward to returning soon though. Definitely visit here for a special occasion, to relax with your other half or friends.

Yelp
Above and Beyond. My stay here was absolutely amazing I have not one complaint. It was my first spa experience and I have to say they have a customer for life now. I felt pampered and stress free and all the treatments and staff went above and beyond what you would expect.

Yelp
This was my second time at St Annes Spa- I loved it so much that I tried to rent out the entire property for a company meeting. if you are looking to: a) relax and getaway b) feel refreshed c) feel like you are in a different world Then this is the best vacation you can do within an hour of Toronto. This past time I rented a cottage instead of staying on the property- This time I went with my boyfriend and we had a romantic time. Last time, I went with my girlfriend and we had a blast. St Annes Spa is great for all occasions. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
This place is a nice getaway from the bustling lives of downtown yuppies like myself. It's not far from toronto, situated on a large property, and overall, really helps you relax from life in general. The classes are fun, the food is amazing, the rooms feel like a B and B, there are no Tv's (this is a plus! ) the only negative to me is the spa - it's just not that good. The plus is all the gratuities are included. The negative is all my spa treatments took place in the dungeon and some of the rooms feel like you are entering a torture chamber. I would return however since there are way more positives than negatives. From what I've heard, I would wait for the last minute deals for the best deal.
