10 Best Craft Beer Spots in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"When it opened in 1995, Steamworks, a huge and handsome brew pub, was one of the first to really carry the craft beer torch. Ever since, it has become a Vancouver destination for beer lovers of all stripes, including those who have recently caught onto the trend. You’ll find lots of original beers, including an easy-drinking Czech-style pilsner to the very sturdy Black Angel India Pale Ale, which offers a strong, hoppy taste that’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Steamworks is a full-service restaurant with a menu that generally hews toward hearty, pub-style staples like burgers, wings, and pasta. But if you’re in the mood for something more, there are plenty of other options, including an Expense Account Steak, a 12-ounce strip accompanied by a prawn skewer, mushrooms, and garlic toast for CDN$50 ($38)." - Guy Saddy

Would definitely recommend it if in the area! The restaurant is huge, we ate downstairs next to the kitchen which was fun. They have outdoor seating and good service. They have a variety of beer options including sours and you can do a flight of 4. Very popular during happy hour.

Great service and nice cocktails. Food was awful though- grey chicken burger and cold fries, my wife had a tough boot steak and cold fries too however they did replace fries. biggest concern would be hygiene however, dirty bins and appalling overhead canopy in need of a good clean. Hope they take the feedback, great location, great people, great opportunity.

Very cool place. We enjoyed the food (just not the prices) but it is in a heavy tourist area. Service was great, and we were seated quickly. Beer was cold, food was hot! Brisket tacos were tasty.

Stop by for dinner. Good beer and food was very good. Service was OK. Order my food order. Order Seafood chowder (very good) but after 10 minutes no soup had to ask my server about my soup. After that ever thing else went smoothly. Fish and chips was very good.

This place is so cool! Very interesting inside and out! The poke bowl was spectacular! The experimental hazy IPA was crazy good! Super cool staircase inside! I can’t wait to come back!

Really enjoyed our visit to Steamworks Brewpub! The food was tasty, the prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable. Overall, a great place to grab a meal and relax in Gastown — definitely worth a visit!

As a fan of this brewery all the way from Edmonton, I loved this place! I knew the beer was good, but got to try some interesting beverages they don’t have in Edmonton on the beer flight (which came in at a great deal)! I’d highly recommend coming here for a social meetup. Great drinks even if you aren’t a beer drinker. The fish and chips was delicious, a good deal for the portion size. Definitely a must try if you are looking for some good brew-pubs in Van City!

Came here for dinner in May recently after spending the afternoon exploring the city. Thought it was just a normal pub and did not expect this place to be so large with multiple storeys. The atmosphere was nice. Food was nice and service was good. There is a large selection of beers but the stout was not available.
