10 Best Craft Beer Spots in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"When it opened in 1995, Steamworks, a huge and handsome brew pub, was one of the first to really carry the craft beer torch. Ever since, it has become a Vancouver destination for beer lovers of all stripes, including those who have recently caught onto the trend. You’ll find lots of original beers, including an easy-drinking Czech-style pilsner to the very sturdy Black Angel India Pale Ale, which offers a strong, hoppy taste that’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Steamworks is a full-service restaurant with a menu that generally hews toward hearty, pub-style staples like burgers, wings, and pasta. But if you’re in the mood for something more, there are plenty of other options, including an Expense Account Steak, a 12-ounce strip accompanied by a prawn skewer, mushrooms, and garlic toast for CDN$50 ($38)." - Guy Saddy

As a fan of this brewery all the way from Edmonton, I loved this place! I knew the beer was good, but got to try some interesting beverages they don’t have in Edmonton on the beer flight (which came in at a great deal)! I’d highly recommend coming here for a social meetup. Great drinks even if you aren’t a beer drinker. The fish and chips was delicious, a good deal for the portion size. Definitely a must try if you are looking for some good brew-pubs in Van City!

We enjoyed everything about the place. They are best known for their own beer, but the food is also good. There are several sections ranging from outside booths, a bar, and different dining areas to make the place seem smaller. The service is fast and efficient.

There are multiple brewpubs nearby but Steamworks had the best reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We sat outside in a covered area that was pretty awesome on a beautiful Saturday, but would protect during rainy weather as well. Lots of indoor seating available with a dark wood, old school pub comfy feel… most with views of the water. I had a flight of beer and enjoyed all four. See pic for my choices. The Brewhouse Burger was perfectly cooked with a nice crunch to the edges of the patty. The bourbon bacon jam rocked. Excellent service from Finn topped off an already enjoyable experience.

We were looking for a place to eat on Canada Day and we thought this would be nice. We tried the special pizza and the poutine and enjoyed both. It was quite a bit of food for two people and it was good.

We had such a good dinner at this location while visiting the city! Their Cider was amazing, tried others and kept going back to the cider (which I’m not usually driven to). Fish and chips were tasty, but their dessert… worth it.

Had a fantastic experience at Steamworks Brewpub! I ordered the beer flight and chicken wings, and both were excellent. The beer flight was a great way to sample a variety of their craft brews, each with unique and refreshing flavors. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy, flavorful, and paired well with the drinks. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great spot for delicious food, quality drinks, and a great time—I’ll definitely be coming back!

I had to stop here, I had been drinking these beers for years and when I saw the opportunity I stopped in. Turns out they have great food and are housed in a beautiful historic building right on the train line and close to the water. The only complaint I have is the absolute adventure one has to take to get to the restrooms check out my video! I can't imagine if I was inebriated lol. Totally worth the visit and will come back again. Try the chowder or beer soup it's excellent.

We got this from their mobile unit, so hopefully this is not their standard at the restaurant. The food had no taste there was hardly any protein in the bowl, (20 grams of beef if that) the rest was over cooked rice with a fake bottom. Not sure what ingredients they are using that it was not GF either. We got some tortillas, that we were told were made in house but you could tell they were from a bag and stale. The server was friendly but needed more education on allergies. For $22 you would expect better.
