Steel Donkey Bike Tours Barcelona

Awesome experience with Mariana and Steel Donkey cycle tours. Got to see Barcelona from a whole new perspective. Stopped at the finest coffee and. Bakery shop while exploring the Gothic area and back streets of Old Barcelona. The knowledge and history shared was welcome add on to a scenic tour. Well Done!

The Steel Donkey bike tour of Barcelona was truly spectacular. Our guide was Bella and both her English and Spanish were perfect. The tour was the exact right amount of biking and resting and the 4 hours truly flew! I learned so much about this beautiful city and I’m certain I saw things I never would have found on my own. I highly recommend doing this — even in the 100+ degree heat in late June, we had a great time! Bella is amazing!

This bike tour was an excellent introduction to Barcelona for our group of six. We chose to come straight off an overnight flight from the U.S. and hop on e-bikes for a tour. These tours generally last four hours, but we recommend asking for a shorter tour unless you are accustomed to riding bikes for long periods of time. Augustine was enthusiastic and entertaining. We started at the Barcelona dock and the Steel Donkey shop was a little hard for us to locate. Augustine found us sleepwalking around the upper level. The tour takes you past many famous places in Barcelona as he points out things built for various events, like the Olympics and the General Exhibition. One of our favorite spots was Park Ciutadella, a beautiful green space. You need an hour or so to roam around here, so make time to come back on your own!

We had an amazing experience with this tour. From start to finish everything felt authentic and super fun the perfect way to explore the city like a true local. Our guide Alex, was incredible. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Barcelona and the Catalonia culture. She took us through neighborhoods and hidden gems we’d never have find on our own. We learned so much history, discovered awesome street art, great local tapas and bars. Alex is super personable, she really cared to get to know us and learn what we wanted out of the tour so she can make the best experience for us Highly recommend ask for Alex

Augustine was an amazing guide who gave our family an unforgettable experience around Barcelona. He was really patient with my 9 and 11 year old kiddos and their needs. He designed an excellent route that showed us a variety of neighborhoods and gave us a great feel for the uniqueness of that amazing city. I highly recommend doing this ride and strongly encourage you to request Augustine as your guide!

We loved our tour with Augustin! We had a group of 10 aged 4- adult and it was all our kids favorite Barcelona activity. We learned a ton about the history and visited awesome parts of the city that weren't in our plans. There were some definite hidden gems and we covered so much ground that a walking tour could never accommodate.

We just arrived in Barcelona and wanted to get a feel for the area. This tour was convenient and during a quiet time of the day (Siesta). We had good weather and a great guide named Augustine (also one of our favorite Saints too). He was very helpful and informative! There were 2 children on our tour and he really made sure everyone was safe. We saw a good part of the city and enjoyed the park with the fountain, and he watched the bikes so we could get photos.

We had a wonderful time and our tour guide, Claudia, was marvelous…both full of information and incredibly pleasant! The tour offered a well rounded look into Barcelona’s history through visiting the different sites and stops throughout the city. Can’t wait to revisit some of the neighborhoods we rode through.
