The most amazing dinner my family and I have had in a while! The service was so attentive and friendly and the restaurant is dressed up very nicely - like stepping into a Italian grotto. But THE FOOD. Everything had amazing flavour and such a nice variety of things to try in the set menu. I am also vegetarian and the restaurant was easily able to accomodate the menu for this. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to splurge a bit for a special night 😊

Stefano’s in Mildura was an unforgettable dining experience—well worth the wait and absolutely exceptional. This beautiful restaurant exudes warmth and charm, with knowledgeable staff delivering impeccable service. The five-course degustation menu was simply sublime, with every bite a delight. The cuttlefish on polenta and the tagliatelle with rabbit ragu were standouts, leaving a lasting impression. To top it all off, we had the incredible privilege of meeting Stefano himself, who took the time to chat about food, the region, and family. When you admire someone for so long, it’s a joy to find they are everything you imagined they'd be. for. Stefano is sponsoring local food and local wines. Outstanding service with great sommelier advice by Nathan and a very friendly chat with stefano himself. We had the degustation 5 course meal which has no menu but comes announced with each dish. the highlight being the cuttlefish with cuttlefish ink and polenta and an amazing Murray cod as main course, all peppered with local drops from chalmers winery. The dessert might have been a bit short of the inspiration and drive of some of the other dishes and the fish was a tad under seasoned. But in every possible way this is a must go destination if in the area.

Joined late at a work day, only had pasta, dessert and a drink. I’ve never liked any tiramisu in my life, until I tried this one, absolutely unique and I love it so very much. Pasta’s also pretty good. Staff are friendly. Unique environment. Great experience. Definitely will come back with a booking for the mains.

The atmosphere they’re aiming for is wine cellar vibes, but it felt so claustrophobic and eery due to the crazy low ceiling and dim lighting. The service was okay, but we got a weird look when we said we were skipping wine. They obviously put a lot of effort in the presentation, however the portions which they called “courses” were all entree size. See for yourself with the pictures below. Feeling robbed and hungry. Is this worth $130 per person? I’d say a big NO.

Absolutely loved dining at Stefano’s! We were a group of 8 travelling from Brisbane for a houseboat holiday and had had multiple people recommend this restaurant. It didn’t disappoint. What’s not to like about a five course dinner made with love and local ingredients? A number of us don’t like mussels and were not expecting to have them served up in the first course. I have to say, my mind was blown. Everyone agreed they were delicious! The service was excellent and the ambience lovely. Loved the old stone walls and nice to meet 86-year-old Don in the restaurant who we also ran into and had a good chat with the next day. Thanks to our lovely servers and the chef and kitchen staff for a fantastic meal and experience. It totally set the tone for our first experience with Mildura, a place that we just loved.

We couldn't go for dinner but were able to share the antipasto platter for 2. Everything was simply superb. Such quality food, a perfectly paired glass of pino grio, intimate ambiance and professional service. I thought I had died and gone to foodie heaven.

Firstly... before visiting, make sure you have the right Stefano's. There are two places a cafe and the restaurant and they aren't in the same building. We were really excited to visit Stefano's, and this was the main purpose of our trip to Mildura. Stefano Di Pieri was the first cookbook I ever bought, and we were really looking forward to an exceptional dinner. Whilst Stefano was there, we didn't really get to talk to him, he spent most of his time with group tables, given there was only about 10 tables there that night, we were a little disappointed. The dinner was a set menu, so be prepared that you won't get to see the menu, and no one explains what you will eat when you get there. It literally just comes out. The food was all well cooked and decent quality Italian food. However, we were really hoping for a more unique experience. We had rock melon with prosciutto for entrees, a yabbie with potato salad and cheese soufle (all lovely). The main was tomato pasta, which was nice but basic and the main a scotch fillet (ok). Again, I think we were hoping for a rabbit or quail or something we wouldn't normally eat at home. The desert was a few shared dishes that were a bit underwhelming. The service was attentive, but we found it a little pushy on the wine. The bill was nudging $400, which seemed quite pricey given we only had 4 drinks between us. Overall, was an ok experience but didn't live up to our expectations and not sure we would rush back.
