We had high hopes for our stay, but unfortunately, several issues impacted our comfort.
The shower was leaky and water went everywhere in the bathroom, there was no minibar in the room (despite it saying that there was), and we had to call multiple times about the black-out curtains—which were never fixed. They kept telling us someone would come but after the first person who couldn’t fix it, no one else showed.
As a result, the large glowing “Fraser Suites” sign from across the canal kept us up at night. The room was also uncomfortably hot, with no way to control the temperature, and there were no USB charging ports available, which felt outdated for a hotel in this class.
On the positive side, the room was super clean, otherwise nice, staff were kind and courteous throughout our stay. The concierge service was friendly, although not always very helpful—we were repeatedly told “Landungsbrücke 1” when asking about harbor rides, without clear directions on how to get there.
That said, we appreciated being able to stow our luggage before check-in and have it delivered to us later, and when we needed extra towels and tissues, they arrived promptly.
Overall, while the staff was lovely and eager to help, the lack of follow-through on the curtain issue made for a less-than-relaxing experience. We were compensated with chocolate and drinks to go at checkout for our inconvenience. I would’ve preferred a discount since we didn’t get much sleep.
A redeeming factor was definitely the complimentary breakfast. That was absolutely fabulous!
