Grandhotel Belvédère, Davos

We were on our way to Lake Como but due to severe thunderstorms we had to abort our journey largely cause SBB cancelled train from Zurich to Milan.|We picked Davos as an alternate destination and the Grand Stienburger Belvedere Hotel was such a pleasant surprise . |The welcoming , the rooms, the property was superb in all respects, the front desk staff was also very friendly and helpful.|There was a car a driver at our disposal for the entire duration of our stay of 2 days Free of Charge !|Very thankful to the staff . |The food at the restaurant was delicious and so was the sauna and pool.|Lovely destination to visit

The hotel is nice and has a good location. The guys at the entrance who park your car and help with your luggage are very friendly, but unfortunately the blonde woman who attended to us was very rude and at the end, when we checked out, she wanted to charge us again for the room. She was very arrogant, which I didn't like at all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historical hotel where over the years many famous people have stayed.|It was fascinating to read the history as well as see the photos of the hotel and some of its famous former visitors including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle! |We stayed in a superior double room which was on the 4th floor .It had a small balcony which offered a view of the mountains.It was well appointed and had excellent storage space.It was clean and well maintained by the team who did the room service twice a day.|Breakfast included a selection of cold meats, salmon as well as cooked items including omelettes .The tea selection was one of the best I have come across.|We were well looked after by Ioannis and the rest of the team.||The team at the reception desk, some of whom doubled up as the drivers for the shuttle service were all absolutely great. There was always a welcoming smile and nothings seemed too much to them. Our special thanks to Joâo ,Ioannis, Timea and Piotr. You have all made our stay a very pleasant and memorable one .

We have stayed at the Steigenberger Belvedere in Davos about 5 times now and absolutely love this beautiful hotel’s history and grandeur. It’s one of our favourite places to stay in the world with lovely classy rooms with balconies overlooking the mountains. A fabulous spa and great breakfast. The hotel shuttle is a great service with great friendly drivers. ||We arrived for a long ski weekend as s big party. We want to thank the staff for their kindness and especially to Josephine who helped make arrangements for us. Benny at the bar, Hugo and Jao the drivers. ||Sadly as the hotel is in transition from Steigenberger to HG, it begins to feel a little less special and disorganised in comparison to previous years. Not all but some of the staff were a little unprofessional and some in our group thought one or two were a little rude. ||I hate to say this but we all felt that Jacqueline on front desk was rather abrupt and unfriendly with us and didn’t present the hotel in the best way. ||Overall a great experience but it’s evident the hotel is in a state of transition at the moment. We may think twice about returning next year.

An absolutely fantastic stay at this hotel! The rooms were immaculate and extremely comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure our needs were met. The location is perfect for exploring the city, with easy access to all the major attractions. The ambiance here is so inviting; it truly felt like a home away from home. The breakfast buffet was top-notch with a wide variety of delicious options. I particularly loved the mountain view from my room, which made waking up each morning a delight. Definitely planning to return here on my next visit. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

We stayed in this hotel 2 years ago and loved it so much that we are coming back again this year!||Tuesday 18th Feb 2025 - Arrived late afternoon. Picked up from Davos Platz station by a friendly and helpful driver. Nice to have a welcome fruit bowl and a few chocolates waiting in the room. Great start!||Dinner at Romeo Juliet: Very good service despite we didn’t have a booking and it was busy when we visited! The gentleman who found us the table and served us was cheerful and courteous and we often see him at breakfast time too.||The rest of the week we had dinner every night at the Belvedere (love the live music). The food was nice and reasonably priced. Breakfast, if I’m honest, is not sumptuous by 5 star standard (in terms of variety of hot food/pastries) but the salmon in hot food section was very nice. To summarise, the Belvedere ambience and service were very nice for both breakfast and dinner!||We spent a lot of time listening to live piano playing at the bar too! Pietro the pianist was one of most entertaining pianist we ever met. Big thank you to him :)||The ladies at the reception were very helpful. They introduced us to some activities (Schzalp) for non skiers (the concierge was off on that day) and also helped us book the horse carriage ride. We got picked up from the hotel entrance for the horse carriage ride which was very enjoyable! Also we appreciate the help from Robin in reception who was always professional, polite and helpful.||House keeping service: both morning and evening turndown service were good. The housekeeping staffs were friendly and can communicate in English.||Everyone in the ‘transport’ team were helpful, courteous and friendly. Hello to ‘Santa Claus’ who we met from our last Christmas visit years ago!||All the staff in the restaurants, the bar (especially Vasileios and the Spanish lady from Mallorca) were friendly and provided great customer service.||The team who communicated with us by email prior our arrival accommodated our room request and we were very pleased. ||We had a wonderful time in Belvedere and would definitely stay there again for the 3rd time!

The Fridge From the lobby to the bar, the restaurants, and even our room, this hotel felt uncomfortably cold—like stepping into a fridge. This made our stay less enjoyable, as we expected a warm and welcoming atmosphere, especially in the mountains where a cozy retreat is most appreciated after a crisp day outdoors. Unfortunately, this lack of warmth significantly impacted our overall experience and was the main reason for the low rating. On a positive note, the staff were generally good at their jobs, though not necessarily friendly or engaging. Our room was consistently cleaned and made up to a high standard, which we appreciated. The hotel itself is older and shows its age despite some upgrades. For instance, having a shower inside the bathtub feels outdated and should be addressed in the next renovation phase to align with modern expectations. Overall, our experience was acceptable but fell far short of being great. We hope the hotel considers making improvements to enhance both the atmosphere and guest comfort.
