If you’re looking for one of the best dining experiences in Zakopane, this restaurant is a must-visit. The atmosphere is truly remarkable—warm, inviting, and perfect for an enjoyable meal or a relaxing evening. The food is nothing short of exceptional. Their potato with cream is easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted—rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The shashlik is a standout, with perfectly cooked, tender, and smoky meat that will leave you wanting more. To top it off, their tea and wine selection complements the meal wonderfully, adding an extra layer of satisfaction. That said, there are a couple of drawbacks. The wait time for seating was quite long, which can test your patience, especially if you’re hungry. Additionally, the service left room for improvement. The restaurant was busy, and we often struggled to get the staff’s attention, which detracted slightly from the otherwise excellent experience. Despite these minor issues, I absolutely recommend visiting this restaurant. It’s truly one of the best places in Zakopane, offering a culinary experience that more than makes up for any inconvenience. Don’t miss out on this gem!

Good place, and nice waiters. The food is ok, a nice salad with traditional cheese. I recommend trying beer with raspberry syrup. Minus - a lot of bees.

The meat and cheese platter was gigantic - great value and far too much for 2 people. Pierogi very tasty and nicely cooked. We sat too close to the live music so difficult to hear each other but that's on us.. Venue had a nice ambience and service very good.

Nice Polish restaurant which serves traditional meals and great mulled beer. I had the pork knuckle which was quite nice and my sister had ribs which were a bit dry. Overall the place has a nice vibe and is reasonably priced.

If you’re in Zakopane and looking for a place that offers authentic local flavors, Stek Chałupa is a must-visit! We had an incredible dining experience here, and everything from the atmosphere to the food exceeded our expectations. The rustic, traditional decor adds so much to the cozy mountain ambiance, making it a perfect spot to relax after a day exploring the town or the nearby Tatra mountains. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the smoked cheese paired with cranberry sauce, which was such a treat — the savory, smoky flavor of the cheese balanced beautifully with the sweetness of the cranberries. For the main course, we tried the seasonal lamb, which was cooked to perfection. It was tender, flavorful, and tasted so fresh. We could tell it was prepared with high-quality ingredients and a lot of care. To warm up, we ordered their winter tea, a fragrant blend of herbs and spices that was both soothing and refreshing, ideal for the chilly weather. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall experience. If you’re looking to explore Polish highland cuisine, Stek Chałupa is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Zakopane!

Stek Chałupa, located in the heart of the old town, is a fantastic spot for charcoal-grilled dishes, with live music adding to the authentic highland atmosphere. Their creativity shines with the grilled cheese wrapped in bacon and served with cranberry sauce—a delightful and unique combination. The seasonal menu is impressive, with both lamb and beef perfectly cooked and flavorful. The winter tea was a surprising and cozy addition, warming us up on a cold day. The lively music truly enhances the experience. For anyone looking to enjoy expertly grilled meats with a twist, Stek Chałupa is highly recommended.

Right, one of the best meals my girlfriend and I have had out in a long time. Service was exceptional, food was perfect, and the atmosphere was warm and cosy. I can not remember having two mains, two beers, and two finishing shots for less than 250zł in a long time... 50 quid if you're English. A 420 gram steak for 105zł... with all the trimmings... perfectly cooked. 5/5 stars. All on the main street... It was Tuesday, but we had our food ordered within 5 minutes, food at the table within 30 minutes, and the staff checked on us at a comfortable rate. If anyone complains about the prices in this place, you clearly don't get out much... A perfect one night in Zakopane!

Yelp
Food - Amazing!!! Have the Black Currant Pierogi with sweet cream. So good! These pierogi should win the Krakow pierogi festival. Astounding! The local cheese and meat starter was tasty and abundant. The pork cheeks special was flawless. Service was helpful, friendly, and polite although very busy. The ambience was very authentic for Zakopane -- rustic, mountainous, woodsy, natural.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Stek Chalupa and you could tell it was a popular spot. I had read about it in a guidebook and marked it down as a possibility to go to when in Zakopane. When I arrived, I went into town for dinner on my own. I walked on Krupowki Street to check out other spots and there were plenty of choices, but none seemed as lively or as popular as Stek Chalupa. It has indoor and outdoor (with blankets) seating. I got a table inside and didn't realize at the time that I would have a front-row seat to hear some local folk musicians who were on break when I arrived. The menu was extensive and there was a lot to choose from. After a full day of traveling, my eyes were bigger than my stomach - thankfully my waitress told me she thought my order was too big and steered me toward two of my three items. I'm so glad she did as it was the perfect amount of food and really nice options. I had the "highlander potato pancake" which was a stone baked potato pancake that came with garlic butter or local sheep's milk cheese as accompaniments. I preferred the cheese and while these weren't the traditional sort of potato pancakes I grew up eating from my grandmother, they were quite good. The pierogis themselves were outstanding - maybe the best I had while in Poland (and trust me, I had a LOT of them!). I washed them both down with a Polish beer. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service was attentive and helpful. Prices were great for the quality and quantity of the food. I would definitely return to Stek Chalupa if I ever have the privilege of returning to Zakopane.

Yelp
Great place to go visit if in Zakopane! Ribeye wasn't as I expected but was ok. The baked potato was delicious with garlic butter! It wasn't the best, but wasn't bad! They have live music and is usually busy

Yelp
Yeah, I'll give it a 5 star. We ate there twice. First time not too hungry and so had some wine and a cheese and sausage plate. Well, that plate alone was sufficient for both of us. In fact, we had to takeaway the leftovers. Three kinds cheeses and three kinds meat, plus gherkins, garlic, cucumbers, tomatoes. A huge plate. Next day after a strenuous 5:22 RT hike up and down Mt Giewont, we went straight there for a feast since we had not eaten at all that day. I had pork knuckle and she had ribs. Both excellent. We also had a bake potato, salads (actually four salads on one dish) . We had a pitcher of beer with this. It was all great and we did it justice by finishing it all. Service was good. Hardly any waiting. I would go again, but I need to try some other places while I am here.
