great boutique that only carries small brands. lots of unique scents. the staff is very friendly and helpful. we did a corporate event there, they closed the store down for our party and had wine and champagne for us. made curated scent recommendations based on a survey they had us fill out when we got there. highly recommend!

When I visited recently, I asked about a specific perfume being in stock. It wasn't, but based on that perfume and another I mentioned liking from the line, the woman working gave me multiple suggestions that I might be interested in trying instead. And her suggestions were SO good! They made sense! They weren't just lazy "here's some popular ones...". I left with a bottle (Cutting Rain from Rahasya) and I'm delighted with it. The store is gorgeous and quiet. Could honestly have spent an hour there. More. I actually like the no-spray, smell the stone discs rule. Stops the store from stinking and stops smells getting muddled up. Both employees I spoke to there were very friendly and, of course, helpful! No snootiness and I was given total peace to browse. Will absolutely visit again next time I'm in the city!

I can’t wait to come back here. Came in with no clue what I wanted but Amarel helped me find a new signature scent within my price range! She was kind, patient and very knowledgeable :) really recommend checking this spot out for yourself or for a friend

Amarel was very welcoming and put me onto fragrances that perfectly reflected my taste. She is very knowledgeable and humble, and you can tell that she is very passionate about what she does. One of my favorite experiences while visiting the city for sure. If you’re new to fragrances, or even pretty experienced, this is a safe space for you. Thank you Amarel and staff!

Probably the best service you’re gonna find if you’re looking for a special perfume in NYC. The staff are all individually VERY knowledgeable in their own way and passionate about the perfumes they know they like and go the extra mile in helping you learn more.

This isn’t your average fragrance shop, it’s a full sensory experience. Thought I would need forever to find the perfect scent for my friend’s gift but the owner was so knowledgeable and helpful and I got it all done quick - and my friend is obsessed with the scent! Will definitely be back.

Stele is a truly special place. It’s so obvious that the people behind it are truly passionate about perfume. They aren’t content to stock their shelves with trending bottles from major niche houses, but rather seek out unique, interesting and special scents. I also love that they provide a launchpad for so many indie brands. The staff at both locations are lovely, helpful and knowledgeable and the stores themselves are stunning.

Best Niche boutique in the area! Everyone is super helpful and really knowledgeable about all the brands in stock. Beautiful aesthetics and very warm and cozy inside. Highly recommended.

Stele is by-far my favorite fragrance shop! The owners are lovely and have been so welcoming to me ever since they opened. I come in often and always feel attended to by the friendly staff. They have an incredible curation of niche and indie fragrances, and each time I go in I'm excited to discover something new. Can't recommend this shop highly enough!!

I was so excited to go here but so let down. Guests aren't allowed to touch the bottles and they don't offer samples for sale either. If you want to test something, a (rude) salesperson will spray a ceramic disc for you and that's apparently supposed to be enough to make a sale. I'm not spending $$$ on perfume if testing it on my own skin seems like an absurd ask. Folks, if you're ever in SF, head to Ministry of Scent and/or ZGO and live out your fragrance shopping/testing dreams.

Lovely store, knowledgeable staff and very interesting fragrances. I bought an inexpensive discovery set. I wouldn't buy an expensive scent without a sample. Also, you can't spray their bottles. They have ceramic disconsolate that you can snug or they will spray for you. Re: samples, you can order for a charge and pick up the next day or they will ship but their samples are more expensive then usual and they should let you get at least one or two free. Only in NY would a small niche store do this. It's really nice though, hope they change their policy.
