we really enjoyed our Dinner here in July 2025. The seafood and wine were top class and the service was absolutely amazing, so friendly & efficient. Well done, keep up the great work. Cannot wait for an excuse to return to enjoy this lovely place again

This hotel has so much charm and character! Every staff person made eye contact and would cheerily say hello. The view of the bay and sunset from our third floor room was stunning. Will definitely come back again.

Our visit to the Stella Maris Hotel restaurant was a highlight of our trip to Kilkee. Despite a less-than-ideal experience elsewhere in town, Sandra, our server, truly redeemed our time with her warm and friendly demeanor. She was attentive, kind, and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed a delicious vegetable soup accompanied by fresh brown bread and a lovely cup of tea — a perfect light lunch. The meal was simple yet flavorful, and the tranquil view of the ocean from the restaurant added to the overall charm. Thanks to Sandra’s excellent service and the beautiful setting, our lunch was a memorable and uplifting part of our journey. We highly recommend the Stella Maris Hotel restaurant for anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming spot with great food and a nice seaside view from the restaurant.

We held our family reunion at Stella Maris in Kilkee in June 2025, with relatives joining us from all around the world. It was a large group, including many happy young children, and the team at Stella Maris couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious, with a full menu that offered something for everyone in our group. The quality was superb, and the variety ensured all tastes were catered for. The cocktail menu was extensive and expertly made, adding an extra touch of celebration to the occasion. A special highlight was the personalized menu featuring a welcome message for our family reunion — such a thoughtful and meaningful gesture that truly made us feel at home. We can’t thank the staff enough for helping make our reunion so memorable. Highly recommended!

Had food here recently. Service was terrible. Rang a few days ahead and made a reservation, they did not right it into the book. |We asked for bread as we werent having starters. Waiter had to be asked several times to bring it out. |I got fish and chips for dinner. I asked for no mushy peas, still got them. Chips were raw ! My friend got the duck and she was so sick after ! Dessert was only fit for a child and also was terrible. Wouldn't recommend, avoid. Staff aren't trained at all for the busiest time of year

Just back from a four day stay in the excellent Stella Maris. Our room was clean, well decorated and very comfortable and the brand new bathroom was simply superb. The food was really good whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Highly recommended.

Lovely spot in Kilkee A cozy place to eat in Kilkee — we only tried the restaurant, not the hotel. The atmosphere was warm and the staff very attentive and friendly. The menu is a bit limited, but everything we had was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Prices are average, and if you’re lucky, you can get a table with a view of the bay — stunning at sunset!

Stella Maris Hotel, Bar & Restaurant in Kilkee is a lovely spot to enjoy both great food and a relaxed atmosphere. The location is ideal, right by the water, offering beautiful views. We had dinner at the restaurant, and the food did not disappoint. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and the menu had plenty of delicious options to choose from. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home, creating a warm, friendly environment. The bar is a great place to unwind with a drink after a day of exploring Kilkee. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service was a little slower than expected on a busy evening, but it was still a pleasant experience overall. If you're in the area, Stella Maris is definitely worth a visit for both the food and the stunning views! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We had the best service at Stella Maris! The bartender talked to us at our table and our server was cheery and great. She recommended the Guinness fried mushrooms and my guy very much enjoyed them. And from their special board, he ordered the roasted sea bass and almost licked the plate. I had the vegetable soup and it satisfied very much as it was blustery, rainy Thursday evening. Their brown bread is a wonderful addition. Thanks you!

Yelp
A classic hotel with a great view of the ocean. Whether you are on the Loop Head peninsula to enjoy the Irish coast during "summer", the best in Europe diving--or so the tourist board claims--or to peruse the fan lobe turbidites of the Ross Formation, this makes a great base of operations. The rooms are some of the largest I've encountered in Europe, at very reasonable rates. I found them clean, comfortable, and enjoyable--as I did the common space, two large sun rooms which also doubled as a restaurant. The food was good, particularly a roast chicken with ham at lunch. I can't recommend the sandwiches to an American palate, however. They have a bar with live music, which is a plus, as long as you aren't in the room above it. If you're looking for a quiet space, just make note upon check-in (earplugs were available at the front desk, I've heard). They pour a great pint of Guinness, though some of their other offerings were on the high side for prices. The staff was very helpful and friendly, across the board. They helped make my stay a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel with an outstanding restaurant in beautiful Kilkee. I was blessed to be able to visit Kilkee with my dad and my brother, and to spend one of the most memorable weeks of my life at Stella Maris. Kilkee is a wonderful little seaside village. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, authentic Irish pubs. I very much hope to return someday.

Yelp
Really cosy hotel with genuine staff who enjoy working in the family run small hotel and bar. Great club sandwich and the breakfast is served like home. The rooms are large if a bit spare and dated in areas. It also has a pool table with a super friendly barman.

Yelp
Food here is mediocre was a little disappointed I had chicken, mash and veg with Garvey it was your average dinner kind if a pub grub I had apple tart for desert which was lovely. There is much nicer places to eat around town. All of my family enjoyed the dinner aswell. We sat at the front in the conservatory which looked onto the Atlantic Ocean which I have to say in as amazing view. If your looking for a place to eat with a view of the beach here Stella's is the place to eat. I would presume it's the same to stay in the hotel. Not a bad place to come on the weekends for a drink either.

Yelp
Right on the corner overlooking the bay. We stopped in one especially blustery afternoon for an early dinner and the table looked out at the water and down the long main street. Beautiful scenery, good food, fair prices, and decent service. Not really a lot of restaurant choices in Kilkee but this one was fine for the one night we ate there and would have been good for a few if we were in the area that long. we didn't stay at the hotel but we asked about rooms and looked at one. The room was HUGE by European standards, well equipped, and had a view looking down the main street - which was pretty. Price we were quoted was only a few euro over what we paid for a B&B nearby so that was more than fair.
