We needed to leave early in the morning and they provided a lovely continental breakfast before the usual breakfast time. Great way to start the day. Also, they recommended a fabulous Kebob place right down the street for a quick dinner after we arrived - the food was amazing!

My daughter chose the Stella Maris for her Wedding Reception. What a find!? We were around 60 people. For the quality & location, the prices were (surprisingly) the best we'd found anywhere else. EVERY single guest also commented after, on the food quality being the best they'd ever had at a wedding!! Our meals were pre-chosen. They catered for any special dietary needs, (vegan, vegetarian, etc) and we were all served quickly. Food for young children/babies arrived almost immediately they were seated. Their attention to details like this was second to none and their helpfulness before and during the reception was genuinely 'exceptional". I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for a wedding reception. We felt looked after like 'family'. The location is fantastic too.... with plenty of accommodation available within walking distance (if the hotel itself is full). Its a few minutes walk to a beautiful beach, and there were live music events throughout the town of Kilkee, for after reception revelry.

We celebrated my wife’s Birthday in Sept in Stella’s Maris hotel. We had a black tie event and from start to finish organising this with Michelle in Stella Maris , nothing was a problem . She was fantastic. It was just amazing. From when we arrived that evening to a champagne reception and then to full dining room of all our family and friends for an amazing dinner and continued downstairs in there class basement bar where we continued to party and dance the night away everything went amazing . Just want to thank Michelle and all the staff of Stella Maris for making it such an amazingly memorable night to remember.

We are local & we have always had a great experience with dining at the restaurant until last Saturday evening the 31st of August when we booked a table for 3 in the conservatory at 8pm to celebrate my sister's birthday, the only part of the meal that we enjoyed was the friendly waitress that served us , after the lovely starters it quickly went down hill , my mother ordered the vegetables curry which was bland the rice wasn't the right rice that was supposed to be served with it and it was over cooked and it was also supposed to be served with chutney which it wasn't , my sister then order rhubarb crumble before a table that was across from us and the waitress came back and said there was no rhubarb crumble left so my sister ordered the baked cheesecake which was a bad mistake as when it came out it didn't look right it was over cooked and tasted like over cooked scrambled eggs as the cheesecake clearly scrambled and curdled and didn't taste right ,& I even had a taste of it and trust me it was horrible and that's coming from a qualified pastry chef, also the 🍆 vegetable s were pre cooked and then blasted in the microwave for service and my sister & mother burnt their month with the boiling hot mash potato that was beyond hot, that's not what you would expect for the prices they are changing nearly 20 euro for a main course , my sister's birthday celebrations were short lived & also to even annoy us more the table across from us was served rhubarb crumble after my sister was told there was none prior to ordering, before the table across from us being served it after my sister order it , then my mother and I order the Bailey's dessert which was priced at 7 euro and all it consist of was 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream with a dribble of Bailey's and a sprinkle of praline , the portion was even smaller than a child's portion, day light robbery, then i was served a Bailey's coffee ☕ that i ordered and it was stone cold , after my sister complained about the cheese cake about 10 minutes later a chef came out wearing a black jacket and glared over at our table who I can old assume was the pastry chef or the chef that made the dessert it was so dan rude and obvious that she didn't agree with the complaint, and the way she looked over at our table was so unprofessional, also the menu that was supposed to be an Ala carte dinner menu was totally scaled down and clearly was more like a bar food menu than an Ala carte menu , also after complaining we were totally ignored for the rest of the evening , we had to ask for the bill after half an hour the only complaint I can give was the lovely waitress who was polite , prefessional and sympathetic and deducted the cheese cake , all I can say is we definitely won't book here again for a family celebration or meal as this experience was a total let down and was not a happy birthday celebration experience, and for the bill being nearly 200euro was a total rip off.

Beautiful family room with 2 bedrooms. Friendly staff in the bar. Breakfast is basic, could be a little bit more exciting but does the job. All in all a great short term place to stay in Kilkee.

had breakfast here last year approx autumn time and the staff were delightful, couldn't do enough. Returned a few weeks ago, peak summer season, the place was busy, and the staff did not care. They were passive and did not want to even try to serve us. High pricing for what you got. Disappointing experience

Yelp
We had the best service at Stella Maris! The bartender talked to us at our table and our server was cheery and great. She recommended the Guinness fried mushrooms and my guy very much enjoyed them. And from their special board, he ordered the roasted sea bass and almost licked the plate. I had the vegetable soup and it satisfied very much as it was blustery, rainy Thursday evening. Their brown bread is a wonderful addition. Thanks you!

Yelp
A classic hotel with a great view of the ocean. Whether you are on the Loop Head peninsula to enjoy the Irish coast during "summer", the best in Europe diving--or so the tourist board claims--or to peruse the fan lobe turbidites of the Ross Formation, this makes a great base of operations. The rooms are some of the largest I've encountered in Europe, at very reasonable rates. I found them clean, comfortable, and enjoyable--as I did the common space, two large sun rooms which also doubled as a restaurant. The food was good, particularly a roast chicken with ham at lunch. I can't recommend the sandwiches to an American palate, however. They have a bar with live music, which is a plus, as long as you aren't in the room above it. If you're looking for a quiet space, just make note upon check-in (earplugs were available at the front desk, I've heard). They pour a great pint of Guinness, though some of their other offerings were on the high side for prices. The staff was very helpful and friendly, across the board. They helped make my stay a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel with an outstanding restaurant in beautiful Kilkee. I was blessed to be able to visit Kilkee with my dad and my brother, and to spend one of the most memorable weeks of my life at Stella Maris. Kilkee is a wonderful little seaside village. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, authentic Irish pubs. I very much hope to return someday.

Yelp
Really cosy hotel with genuine staff who enjoy working in the family run small hotel and bar. Great club sandwich and the breakfast is served like home. The rooms are large if a bit spare and dated in areas. It also has a pool table with a super friendly barman.

Yelp
Food here is mediocre was a little disappointed I had chicken, mash and veg with Garvey it was your average dinner kind if a pub grub I had apple tart for desert which was lovely. There is much nicer places to eat around town. All of my family enjoyed the dinner aswell. We sat at the front in the conservatory which looked onto the Atlantic Ocean which I have to say in as amazing view. If your looking for a place to eat with a view of the beach here Stella's is the place to eat. I would presume it's the same to stay in the hotel. Not a bad place to come on the weekends for a drink either.

Yelp
Right on the corner overlooking the bay. We stopped in one especially blustery afternoon for an early dinner and the table looked out at the water and down the long main street. Beautiful scenery, good food, fair prices, and decent service. Not really a lot of restaurant choices in Kilkee but this one was fine for the one night we ate there and would have been good for a few if we were in the area that long. we didn't stay at the hotel but we asked about rooms and looked at one. The room was HUGE by European standards, well equipped, and had a view looking down the main street - which was pretty. Price we were quoted was only a few euro over what we paid for a B&B nearby so that was more than fair.
