Stella Maris Hotel

Stella Marris live up to its slogan of "not an ordinary hotel." Situated near a prominent beach - Spiaggia di Campulongu, the hotel offers all of the essential amenities and comforts: good restaurant, friendly staff, well kept garden grounds offering shaded sea views just steps away from the private beach with beach beds and umbrellas. A word of caution: the beach service is included in the room price only if booked through the hotel. We booked through the Booking.com website and were surprised at the cost of beach service - 60/70 Euros/day. That aside our stay experience was positive. A good breakfast to start your day, an excellent beach, the hotel location within an easy access to Villasimius and Costa Rei made for an enjoyable vacation.

I had my wedding ceremony at Hotel Stella Maris. The venue is absolutely stunning, it looked and felt like a fairytale. The atmosphere was magic and very relaxed; the personnel very attentive to ours and our guests' needs and committed to make our wedding a special and perfect. Thank you to the hotel Director Marco and the whole Stella Maris team, from the reception staff, to the Metre, to the waiters and waitresses for making our day so memorable.

The price is more than what we excepted as 4 star hotel. Service was not 4 star as well, some staff really kind and helpful but some was not giving service. Breakfast can be improved more. Location is far from crown and you need to take taxi for everything.

Very disappointed with this hotel, mostly catered towards the elderly, most guests seemed to be 70+ during our stay. Little or no atmosphere, staff polite and professional but not particularly friendly. Overpriced. ||The art work was a little tacky, lots of half naked or burlesque cartoon style women. None of which ran seamlessly alongside each-other.||We only stayed B&B as had read the poor restaurant reviews. Breakfast was nice with a good selection of foods but you’re charged extra if you want a bottle of water on your table instead of pouring it at the buffet area. The manager sent a waiter over to charge me on one of our first mornings - so I return the bottle and filled our four glasses as needed and the bottle was still empty so it was ridiculous - just empty in the buffet area not on our table. ||The beach is lovely but to hire loungers is extortionate, for a family of four it would be €780 for a week. The ‘beach package’ which includes these is only available if you book directly with the hotel. Surely this needs to be included in your stay however you book or the prices reviewed?||It was incredibly clean and the ladies servicing the rooms were really friendly and smiley. They did an amazing job.||Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you’re retired and looking for a very quiet few days near a nice beach. Car hire a must.

Sea-coast location is perfect with a charming and well-designed garden and interior. Amazing panorama to the sea with crystal clear water. The dinner was fabulous every evening, one of the most memorable part of our holiday. Staff members were absolutely kind and we felt their hospitality during our complete stay. Would be happy to return some time to this relaxing and adorable place.

Background / Experience of the hotel||We have stayed at the hotel at least 3 times that I can remember, 2014, 2019 and 2020 (covid).||In total we have probably stayed at your hotel 5 times.||||Overall Feedback||The hotel is still excellent and in an excellent location on the beach. I love the hotel and the staff are always excellent, helpful and very friendly. I think with the small changes that have been over time you are successfully turning the hotel into an ordinary one. The hotel is also very well maintained.||||Major Points||Before 2020 there used to be a buffet for Starters, Salads and Dessert. This was removed during covid for obvious reasons (covid and probably cost / waste). My opinion is that the evening meal was much better with this amazing buffet.||||Minor Points||The staff in the restaurant did not have any understanding of English. This made things very difficult. Previously the restaurant staff have had good English capability. Fortunately I can speak German fluently so I was able to use this to speak to them.||Gluten Free options. There is not a good range of Gluten Free alternatives, especially for breakfast and lunch. Other hotels have much better options. For example it would be great to have gluten free muesli, better gluten free bread and to have gluten free beer in the bar. ||Food quality. My sense is that the quality of the food has been of a better quality previously. ||Why charge for the front row of sun beds on the beach ? ||

Really loved the ambiance, rooms (sea view) and art work displayed. It was clean, roomy, had a balcony, and access to its own beachfront. The sunsets were marvelous. Highly recommend.

Staff were great, Rooms perfect, food great choice, This was our second year at the Stella Maris Hotel and it was much the same as last year very consistent. We will book again next year.
