Stella Maris is a gem on the Bahamian out island of Long Island. It’s a family run resort and not the fanciest of places but comfortable and the service by Jill and the rest of her family and staff were above reproach. We did the meal plan with breakfast and dinner and the food was incredible. Local as much as possible. Well prepared and personalized. No buffets here just thoughtful food and drinks. We rented the 4 bedroom Dolphin House with 2 other 1 bedroom units for our group. We honestly felt like we were staying at a family friend’s beach house because of how incredibly welcoming the entire staff were. The grounds are well maintained, beautiful and relaxing. This isn’t a big, fancy resort but something better and more special. Jill and her staff made our celebrations the stuff of dreams. Every request they met. Every plan they exceeded. We used the Stella Maris Air Service to get to the island. Jill planned a full day on the boat out to Sand Cay and the pigs (our favorite day!) We used their transport to the beach and snorkeling. We rented cars to do an island tour one day. Every suggestion they made was spot on. We are already planning on coming back to this incredibly special place.

A little slice of heaven on earth. Jill and her staff are amazing. We stayed in a house and loved the proximity to the beach, bar, please, and clubhouse. It is the perfect place to relax.

Stella Maris Resort is a wonderful place to relax. Beautiful scenery and friendly people. The houses are the best bet: clean and comfortable, but not fussy. The food at the resort restaurant is among the best we have had in the Bahamas. Highly recommend the grouper and the tuna poke bowl. The resort is a great place to walk, with several ocean-side roads. Bring your sneakers!

We would like to thank Jill, the entire staff and chef for an outstanding vacation. There dedication to their guests is amazing. Questions were answered promptly, anything you needed assistance with was addressed in a timely fashion. The food was delicious and very fresh. A few examples of how they go above and beyond for their guests. We were late on arrival to Stella Maris, we were very hungry since we were unable to eat all day. I called and asked if we could come up earlier than our reservation. The answer was yes, even though they weren't even serving dinner yet. The liquor store was closed. A phone call by Stella Maris and the fine gentleman at the store opened up for us. Lastly, I messed up filling out paperwork for our return flight to Nausau. (put our arrival time in Atlanta, not our departure time from Long Island) They called the air resort to help me correct my error. If you have plans to go to Long Island, Bahamas, and want an amazing, memorable vacation, I would call STELLA MARIS RESORT. Thanks, Pam, Gregg and Shannon

Excellent location on Long Island. Beautiful grounds with friendly staff. The natural pool is a great site to see. Our dinner was excellent. Fresh food. Recommend the grouper and the bread rolls. Cute little gift shop. Lots of activities to chose from is you stay on site.

If you're traveling to the Bahamas the Stella Maris Resort Club on Long Island should be your travel destination. The grounds were breath-taking, room was quiet with excellent views, food was delicious, but the best thing about this resort is the staff. Jill, DD, Joel, Jamie, Chanel, Kate, Noel, Anja, Amanda, and every single person there made our first visit there and certainly not our last, one of the best we've ever had. They even have an air service with the one and only Captain Joel to get you to and from Nassau airport safely and comfy. Thank you so much everyone! We highly recommend Stella Maris Resort Club, |

Our first time in the Bahamas and we wanted a place that was not crowded and noisy, and to be able to relax. Stella Maris is very quiet and relaxing for sure. It was not busy at all, I believe because the summer is off season? We stayed at Flamingo House, which was the perfect location as the pathway from the back of the house led to the natural pool cut into the rocks, and to the right was the Moonshine Bar and Grill on the beach, 30 seconds away. At night we lounged in the two lounge chairs overlooking the natural pool and saw so many stars in the clear sky. The beach is not "swimmable" as it has a lot of rocks but you can certainly splash around still and it is beautiful. The house itself is nice, though some quirky things such as the coffee pot, and the sliding door to the deck was very hard to open and close. The bathroom was really hot so we spent little time in there! The views were amazing from the back of the house! Just so beautiful. Highly recommend hiring a car in order to explore the island. Dean's Blue Hole is a must. Cape Santa Maria Beach is nice to visit also. Shout out to Jill at the resort. Always nice to talk to and so very helpful with questions and advice. We were there during the Independence Day holiday weekend and tried to buy a loaf of bread but the local store had already run out. Jill offered to bake us a loaf of bread, which she did! The food at the resort restaurant was mostly nice. My only suggestion would be to have more vegan food options (though I was happy to see oat milk as an option for tea/coffee) and the service could be a little faster. However that seems to be a Bahamas thing... no hurry! All in all a great resort and would love to return some day.
