The Best Family Hotels in Greece

"The set-up at this Cretan hotel lends itself to a meaningful baby’s first holiday. Sweeping along a stretch of coastline on the island’s north, the grounds are set up to resemble a honey-hued Cretan village, all appealingly connected with stroller-friendly ramps. You can even wheel little ones down to the beach, where a man-made cove has created gentle paddling conditions, and drinks and nibbles can be delivered direct to lounge chairs. Suites cater perfectly to tiny demanding guests, with tubs in the bathroom, a separate lounge area that can be closed off from the bedroom, and an outdoor terrace so parents can sunbathe while kids nap. For bigger youngsters, two-story family suites with private pools are also available. The spa here welcomes all guests, big and small. There’s a cute kid-friendly spa menu, a salt cave for adults, plus you can book a family session in the thalassotherapy pool. Booked here for a family of 14 however due to personal circumstances had to cancel 7 of the party. Last minute two of us decided to book for a 5 day stay, right at the very end of the season. Well we were not disappointed. The hotel is immaculately clean. Rooms are cleaned daily and the food on offer in the Buffett restaurant is excellent with different choices every day. The many pools are exceptional and the water flumes were one of the best we’ve ever been to. Reception staff, Costas, was excellent and nothing we asked was too much trouble. We chose to eat in different restaurants which you pre-book the day before. Mexican and the steakhouse were both fantastic. If you’re looking for a family friendly resort which is of a superior quality then look no further than Stella Palace resort. Loved it so much we will definitely be looking to book for next year but this time bringing those family members who could not join us this time around. Also to mention, many guests re-gift their inflatables therefore there is no need to purchase any they are always available somewhere on the resort. Entertainment laid on nightly which was really good especially the children’s entertainment. Well worth a visit!

We had a wonderful stay at the Stella Palace and can wholeheartedly recommend it to other travelers. Positive Aspects • The resort grounds are beautifully designed, very well-maintained, and filled with greenery, creating a relaxing atmosphere. • Everything is tastefully decorated — from the stylish apartments to the elegant restaurant interiors and even the staff uniforms. • Our children absolutely loved the aquapark; it’s a highlight for families. • The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive throughout the resort. • The dining options are diverse thanks to the various themed restaurants, for which guests receive meal vouchers, ensuring a great variety of food experiences. Areas for Improvement • The hotel’s beach is not particularly appealing. However, after a 10-minute walk, you can reach a much nicer beach. • The main buffet restaurant, Poseidon, can get quite noisy — the acoustic level is more reminiscent of a train station than a dining hall, which takes away from the otherwise good food experience. • Some guests unfortunately detract from the holiday atmosphere: by 8:30 a.m. many sunbeds are already reserved with towels (an issue the hotel could manage more strictly), and in the restaurants some parents let their children watch videos on phones or tablets at high volume. Overall, Stella Palace remains an excellent choice for families looking for quality.

Amazing experience at this 5* resort. Absolutely stunning and it felt luxurious. All the al a carte restaurants were fantastic and food amazing, we used them for lunch and dinner as so enjoyable. Buffet restaurant was lovely and plentiful.|Night entertainment was fantastic especially White Night!! All the staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. George who worked the bars and restaurants worked really hard and knew your drinks after one visit. Poolside staff amazing too!|Downsides in my opinion are all pools were freezing cold and I couldn't use them. Drinks were weak and not up to standard and certain premium drinks chargeable although we were all inclusive? Rooms very small with no full length mirror to check outfits in the evening. No birthday cake provided although confirmed by email it would be. No twin bedding on arrival so had to chase up as only a double bed and as mother and daughter wanted twin beds which was offered but at a huge charge.|Overall we would stay again but maybe a few changes needed first.|It is a luxurious resort and a fabulous place to stay.

Absolutely lovely place. Food, staff, rooms and all facilities are great. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Friendly and helpful. The swim-up was fantastic, quiet most of the time and waiter service to pool side was unexpected but appreciated. Private beach areas are lovely too. The water park for the granddaughter is great too. We all had a go on that😆.

What an experience! |The room was amazing, the food was delicious, the service close to perfect and the shows were close to was you may witness in a high end Parisian cabaret.||Marie was so nice and sweet. She made us heard and was there from the first to the last day. Always smiling and genuinely professional.||About the show,|The singer is out of this world! Really! She gave an amazing performance every night.|And all the dancers are exceptional! No step was missed, no move was out of beat, show after show. It was a delight.||We had what I may consider as our best vacation in this place and it was thanks to everyone that crossed our path.

Great hotel for families. We split our stay between Stella Palace and Stella Village, staying 4 nights at Palace and 3 nights at Village. |Village is as good as Palace, the only difference is that pools at the Palace are better. We really enjoyed the all inclusive aspect of the hotel, as the quality of foods and drinks was very good. Cocktails at both hotels were superb - I stayed in many all inclusive hotels and Stella's quality was far better than anywhere else. Staff was incredibly hard working and friendly, in every single department - from reception staff to cleaners, from bell boys to restaurant staff. We had a very great time and would definitely like to come back.

Great hotel with many pools and bars, food at the buffet was good and had a variety of different dishes every day. The staff were extremely kind and friendly. The rooms were good, our only complaint was that the shower had a see through glass door, but other than that they were good. We also tried the a la carte restaurants, the experience was fun but I felt the quality of the food felt the same as the buffet and I expected a bit more. The hotel is located fairly far from the nearest town, but it has a small convenience store for pretty much everything you might need.
