Stellenbosch Brewing Company & Taproom

My wife and I decided to do a beer tasting of 6 beers (via the Entertainer app) just to get an idea of what their beers are like. Their beers include a  Weiss, Lager, Dark Lager, Porter, Lager-Cider hybrid and IPA, with the last 3 being produced by other breweries, but "show-cased" by Stellenbosch Brewing Co. After the beer tasting I opted for a Pale Ale (which was not part of the beer tasting) and my wife for the Hoenderhokblok which we rated was the best out of their selection. What is really nice about the brewery is the big lawn area with trees spread around where you can relax and enjoy some beers. The kids can also run around and play and there is also a playground for them to entertain themselves, so this is a good option for parents to bring their kids along. Their beers didn't wow me which is why I didn't give them a better rating but that's just my taste and I do think this is a good place to visit if you haven't been there before.

Small selection of craft beers on tap, no interaction though with the brewer or staff, so no chat about the love of brewing. Had a very tasty cider, could have sat under the trees drinking it all afternoon 😊. Not table service restaurant style, you order at counter and take with you. Great looking place with pub style snacks and light meals for picnicking.

Yesterday was hot so we were looking for a place to cool down. Along the R304, what a nice venue? We tasted some beers and then chilled for the afternoon. The place is even dog friendly. Two dogs came to visit. Woof woof. The bar lady Chelsea was great with conversation and made us feel at home. On Sunday 6 March. Joined the garden for a nice lunch. Saw that they were well busy so that means the food is great and people keep coming back for more. After a delicious meal went to the taproom to have some of that light and delicious cider. When I was sitting enjoying my drink, Chelsea came and said hi. Thought I would have been forgotten since the last visit as many people come and go there. Nice to be remembered.

Well worth the visit. The beer is great. The service was good with smiles on there faces. The only tiny problem was the very all variety of chow available. But the huge lawn with tons of shade makes it well worth it.

Excellent fun, especially for meeting parents with kids. Try the horse cart rides, fish in the dam, drink excellent locally brewed beer and relax at tables or on the grass. This is an inexpensive place that really makes an effort to create a peaceful, natural time for those who visit. If you want to eat at the restaurant, you must phone ahead.

Great tap room and restaurant in a garden setting. Good selection of local craft beers, and good food. Setting under the trees is stunning and plenty space for the kids to run around.

Beer is good, although the weis wasn't as cold as it is supposed to be. Tap room itself is well designed with a nice layout. They need to update their entertainer app registration because we were told they no longer use the program, although still being advertised on the app.

Great beer, great service and a great setting. Bring the family and relax under the trees. Will definitely be back.
