This place is incredibly affordable and set in a truly beautiful location. The grounds are fun to explore, with winding paths and hidden corners that invite curiosity. We had a great time wandering through the gardens and taking some really lovely photos. The gift shop looked charming and full of interesting finds, but unfortunately it was closed during our visit. The staff we did encounter were friendly and welcoming, which added a nice touch to the experience. Some of the greenhouses were closed or had already shut for the day, which was a bit of a letdown. It would have been wonderful to see more of them. A scavenger hunt or a bit of trivia along the paths would have made the walk even more engaging and interactive. Overall, it was a memorable visit with a lot of potential for even more magic.

It is a relatively small but beautiful botanical garden. It has a bonsai collection and quite a few varieties of succulents. There’s a small gift shop, that has many beautiful handmade items, some of which fund the botanical garden. I wish there was a bigger selection of plants on sale or seeds from the garden. The veggie garden raised bed containers were disappointingly empty.

Beautiful gardens in the middle of Stellenbosch. It’s not big at all, but there are a lot of amazing plants crammed into it. We went while there was a market, but that shouldn’t have to be the reason for going. There’s also a little coffee shop selling pancakes and other stuff.

If you love bonsai this is the place to be. The Stellenbosch Botanical Garden has the most exquisite bonsai sanctuary, with some bonsai dating 100+ years old. Walking amongst them feels walking through a museum. As a student at stellenbosch university it’s the best way to spend your study break, alone time or an authentic date idea.

Fabulous and peaceful spot in the heart of Stellenbosch. Explore the well kept and fascinating gardens, the art, the shops, enjoy a sandwich and coffee or tea with freshly baked scones, sit on a bench and read a book, marvel at the bonsai collection. A great garden to escape the pressures of the day. Nominal entrance fee. Lots of parking.

Beautiful gardens. A nice place to walk around and explore, or to sit down with a good book.

Great variety and beautifully kept gardens. So relaxing to walk through the whole garden and then you end up at the bonsai garden and little shop with cute things. The coffee shop is nice for a little tea break. The cactus garden and the green house are also very cool and the different kinds of water lilies amazed me.

We had only 30 minutes to walk through and enjoy this lovely little gem in the heart of Stellenbosch. I highly recommend it. It refreshed my soul.
