Went with a friend for breakfast and was blown away with how yummy it was! We both got bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches and lattes. Their decaf was good, and the sandwiches super fresh. What really wowed us was how delicious our pastries were (Chocolate Croissant; Coffee Cake) it was the best croissant I have ever had (even one in Paris!). Service was good, would go back.

Google
A nice, clean, and cool coffee shop with a beautiful atmosphere overall. The baguette is very tasty, and the coffee and pastries are also good. They also serve a variety of sandwiches. I always love visiting it when I'm in Savannah. Edit .. Nov / 16/ 2024 We are regular patrons of the coffee shop and truly love the atmosphere, the coffee, and the delicious pastries. We’ve noticed that whenever Ms. Bobbie is there, the service is exceptionally fast and outstanding. She treats customers as if they’re at home, adding a warm and inviting touch to the place. Thank you!

Had breakfast here 4 times last week since it’s attached to the Thompson Hotel. Had there been a Starbucks next door, I would have gone with the Starbucks after the first experience here. Coffee beans are weak. Both lattes and drip were weak. Lattes tasted like they were only in the same room as coffee, even with the extra (pricey) espresso shot. We received incorrectly sized lattes for three orders on two separate days. Front-of-house workers were all morose and passive-aggressive. All the baked goods were really good.

Had a great experience checking out this bakery with the family. We were able to get some delicious pastries with great service! Kids really loved the croissants and danishes. Loved the coffee options we selected (Cappuccino and Apple Spice Latte) as well. Definitely recommended

The coffee and cappuccino were excellent, and the cinnamon roll was absolutely delicious!

After checking out of the Thompson, I stopped by Stevedore Bakery for some quick breakfast items before heading to the airport! So happy I did this. The chocolate croissant and cinnamon rolls are huge! Both costs $6 each which was on the pricey end for other pastries I had in Savannah. However the flavor was amazing for both so order these of you are trying to choose! I also got freshly squeezed orange juice which was really yummy. They have indoor and outdoor seating and you can view the river depending on where you sit.

I heard they had a great sourdough loaf that they will slice for you. When I went in I saw the big loaves of what I thought to be sourdough but were not labeled so I had to wait to for my turn at the register to ask if in fact that was the sourdough, it was darker than I have even seen sourdough look, I’m from San Fransisco so I was really looking forward to this loaf!! Indeed it was sourdough so I bought the $12 loaf which was on the high side but I was willing to splurge if it was great!! I was disappointed to say the least. Way over cooked. The crust is suppose to be the best part and it was terrible. The inside of the loaf tasted fine but you have to trim the crust. It’s a 1 star for me guys, adjust something in process so the crust isn’t so DARK brown, maybe more blonde is a better loaf for sourdough. Best of luck. It’s a really nice location, I hope this helps!!

Google
So full disclosure, we’re not big breakfast people. This is super conveniently located around the corner from Thompson Place. Coffee for breakfast is usually enough, however, the bakery treats in the glass enclosure and racks behind the counter when ordering our coffees… call your name, you cannot pass up! Thank goodness we walked A LOT! And hey, we’re on vacation….indulge a little! I’m a big croissant person as a treat….wowza, this was super buttery, light and crispy! As for service - one day the service was good, another day they couldn’t get it together. Plenty of staff nearby manning their stations but for the love of Pete - when you see your dedicated coffee person struggling, step in folks. Likely new….I felt so bad for her, I wanted to jump in!

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop attached to the Thompson Savannah and across from new apartments. Vibe is mellow, homey, mix of modern and traditional decor. Plenty of seating indoor and outside. Easy parking lot behind the shop. Specials today (August 2025) were the lavender cold brew with honey cold foam $8. Also the frosted strawberry lemonade muffin. $6 I got the iced latte (comes in small and large) (espessso based with skim milk, vanilla bean syrup and honey cold foam on top). $5.61. Amaze!! My husband got the iced coffee with oat milk. Basic bitch. $4.67 The only thing missing is blended drinks, sometimes a blended mocha or coffee really hits the spot in a hot city. The cashier was super friendly and took the time to explain the difference between the regular iced coffee and the iced espresso.

Yelp
This was pretty good stop. 3 stars are for the pricing. So expensive. We ordered the cold brew, bottle iced tea, Bialy, and a chocolate muffin (and one dog treat) it was $32.00. The cold brew was just ok and small size. The Bialy was the Winner! It was so delicious, it had whipped feta, egg and bacon. We also had the chocolate muffin that had a great crumb but the flavor was off. We could not put our finger on it. It was $6.00 for a small muffin and I don't feel like the price was justified. The service was good and the breads looked great. We selected this bakery because we stayed at the hotel.

Yelp
We stayed at the Thompson last weekend, and I was so excited to get breakfast at this bakery. The food was delicious. We got breakfast sandwiches and I loved it. The croissants were also wonderful! I am giving 3 stars because it seemed overpriced, and because of the wait I experienced. It wasn't very busy when I got there, but then the line got super long after I was waiting for my order. (I ordered pre-made breakfast sandwiches that just needed to be heated up and croissants from the case). I don't think they had a good system in place because the person who took my order got stuck behind the espresso machine after someone came in trying to pick up their online order. And then groups who ordered with another staff member after me got their large orders first. (They got similar items to me). Maybe it was a one-off situation, but the wait was just too long for items that were pre-made.

Yelp
Solid 3.5. Pretty good but room for improvement. Friendly staff but messed up a lot of our to go order. No sauces or mayonnaise or anything to take for their to go sandwiches. And they have several sandwiches. Decent amount of pastries but for as much as this was hyped it wasn't a ton like I expected. Smaller glass case with two types of muffins, two types of cookies, cinnamon rolls, some crumble cake and a croissant or two. Meh. Plenty of coffee and seasonal drinks. Very open and airy inside with high ceilings. Not a ton of seating unless it's warm enough to also sit outside. Sunlight streams in and blinds you in early am from high windows - not pleasant. -- Later we had the sandwiches and the roast beef was kind'a small and fell apart in the box. My club sandwich was really hard to eat bc the bread was hard as a rock - it wasn't bad, it's just French loaf and super hard - almost impossible to bite through the top/bottom with the items on it so you had to really try and then everything came off.... not good for to go. The blueberry muffin is AMAZING. Highly, highly recommend.

Yelp
Cute little bakery with a good selection of pastries. The croissants are flakey and the filling in the cheese danish is creamy. I've definitely had better pastries but overall these are good but not "oh my god" amazing. There is only one barista so the coffee takes a little long to get. There is an option to order ahead of time on their website but for some reason it didn't work when I tried it.

Yelp
Visited this bakery while in town for the Every Woman's Marathon. It was just around the corner from the hotel we were staying at. During our first visit here my sister and I ordered matcha lattes and the pimento turkey sandwich. The menu doesn't have the prices of things which would have been nice since I was shocked that our 2 matcha lattes and sandwiches came out to about $43 which seemed a bit steep for the size of the sandwich. Service was good. We did have to wait a bit for our items but they did come out good. The sandwich was a cold turkey sandwich with a pimento cheese spread type of thing. Our matcha lattes were good, not too milky. There is plenty of seating and the windows all around bring nice natural lighting which was nice. The next day, we stopped in for a coffee in the morning, I got a simple white mocha latte which was good, not overly sweet. I'd return if I stayed in the same area but I would recommend putting the prices on the menu for people who may be on a budget.

Yelp
Cute little spot to hit before walking the boardwalk. Staff super friendly and latte and mimosa were good. Mimosa was overpriced in my opinion especially since I had to buy a bottle of OJ plus a glass of champagne, but alas, paid for it was.

Yelp
After checking out of the Thompson, I stopped by Stevedore Bakery at 8am for some quick breakfast items before heading to the airport! So happy I did this. Everything is freshly baked. Yelp
Great small place to grab a bite. Modern, cozy and with great food. The only thing that left a bland test in my mouth was the so so customer service. Would definitely visit again though.

Yelp
After a long walk, I was in the mood to stop for a cold drink and a little treat! I saw this bakery and decided to stop in. The cashier was kind and polite. They offered to have the muffin warmed up but I decided not to. I think next time I will warm it up because the muffin tasted a little stale. Also I didn't know the iced tea wasn't sweet so next time I will order a different beverage. The inside is cute with tables and a nice lounge area in the middle. There are also tables outside.

Yelp
Stevedore is appropriately named for a bakery in the East Wharf that anchors the beautiful Thompson Hotel. The feel of the hotel is being in Paris, so it seems appropriate to have a patisserie included. And what an addition! We sampled the breakfast sandwich and a pain au chocolate. The executive pastry chef comes from Husk and he knows bread. Oh the roll of the breakfast sandwich was nothing short of perfection! The croissant was flaky and delicious with high quality but not gooey chocolate. There are an array of fabulous looking desserts and pastries as well as sandwiches and salads after 11AM. They also sell bread loaves. The sandwiches were $7 and we felt that matched the quality. It's the perfect way to start a Savannah day. This is a must on your next Savannah trip or your breakfast splurge in your own city. See website for hours, menu and location. You can also place a pick up order here, via the Yelp app.

Yelp
My husband and I shared the breakfast pastries. Great food. Cute place. Drinks were a little delayed but good coffee as well.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Very friendly staff, nice brewed teas instead of those God-awful syrups. A decent selection of baked goods. The Grey Shortbread was tasty, but small, and was the giant seeded cookie, despite the cookie dimorphism between the two. The lemon poppy seed muffin had zero discernible lemon flavor. It just tasted like a lot of vanilla. I don't think there was any lemon in them at all, in fact. The sweet potato and maple poundcake was good though. The place is bright and airy, but they make you sit in these weird metal drums. Maybe invest in some actual chairs.

Yelp
This bakery has been on my list since they opened!!! But I have never been able to go since they close at 3:00. I ended up getting the croque Monsieur and it was AMAZING!!!! It was warm and oh so good!!! I also got the perc iced coffee. The staff was super freindly and loved the attomsphere. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Cute little bakery with great coffee. Love the area. Quiet enough to get some work done.

Yelp
The Marriott Riverfront recommended this spot. There is no Starbucks around, so my co-worker and I walked to this place. It is located on the back side of the Thomson Hotel. I ordered an Oat Milk Latte with Maple Sage Syrup and Vanilla. Now, Maple Sage sounds odd, but it is really delicious paired with the vanilla syrup. They offer double shots. I was going to get an additional shot but the gentlemen explained to me how much caffeine is in each shot (approx 110 mg per dbl shot). My drink came with two dbl Shots, so it was probably more caffeine than my standard Starbucks Drinks. The Barista that prepared the drink, she said that if I wanted more syrup to let her know and she will add. That was very kind of her to ask that. I tasted it and loved it! It was so good. I also got a pastry, but was not able to try it, as I was attending a work meeting at the Marriott and we had tons of snacks, so I ended up not eating my pastry. I am sure it would have been delicious. The ambiance of the bakery was relaxing. Overall, great spot. Definitely try it out if you are near the Savannah River or staying at the Marriott or Thomson hotel.

Yelp
Their sourdough bread shattered my world. Nothing will ever compare or come close I highly recommend checking them out!

Devon M.

Yelp
While I'm sure the baked goods are lovely this place is NOT where you want to have lunch. I was so regretful after receiving my none edible fake chicken sandwich. so not worth the money and while one of the staff was lovely and chatty the other was dormant as I waited for some time. No ambience no water. Skip it...even though it seems convenient.

Yelp
We've been frequenting Stevedore since they have opened a few months ago and every time we have gone it's been a hit. The pastry chef running the show is always putting out something new and staying true to the classics. A few highlights is the croque monsieur, the benne seed cookie and any of the croissants and always putting out good coffee. They keep a lot of locally sourced products in there as well behind the checkout counter for you to enjoy. Stevedore is a must if you're staying in the area or even if you have to make the drive!
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
The bakery is cute and modern. The food is awful. We got a coffee cake, and 2 eggs sandwiches. All the bread on display was burnt. The coffee cake was inedible and the egg sandwich's were frozen patties on a roll with loads and loads of butter. We won't be returning.

Yelp
For baked goods, this is definitely the place to go!! We tried some of their bread at a restaurant the night before and it was sooo good! When we saw they also served coffee we thought this could be the best of both worlds! The coffee was definitely lacking in the lustrous category. Shot of espresso- no crema and very dark and bitter Cortado - milk was not incorporated well and was also bitter but had good art work. Iced matcha - so sweet you couldn't taste the matcha at all. But the breads and mornings pastries were amazing!!! I would come back if they improved their espresso game! Perc coffee may need to do a little more training, or maybe the machine needed to be dialed in again for the morning.

Yelp
One of the days we were in town in Savannah, my wife went and got carry out breakfast from Stevedore Bakery, which was right behind our hotel. The tea was delicious as were the baked goods and breakfast sandwich. Would definitely hit it up again!
google avatar

Cori T.

Yelp
Wildly disappointing. Rude staff, my espresso served in a paper cup. For the same quality and experience you might as well just go to any Starbucks in town. Expected a lot better experience and quality.
google avatar

Yelp
Great space. I didn't have time for a sit down breakfast, but would love to try it next time. I popped in for an iced coffee and pastry. They have several pastries in the glass case. My pastry tasted good but the iced coffee tasted a little off. Maybe it was the milk or they used almond milk instead. I didn't drink much of it bc I didn't want to get sick. The cashier was friendly and welcoming. I liked that there was street parking available. That may not be the case when the tourists come in. This was in early January on a Saturday before 10am.

Yelp
Good cappuccino and croissants! A must for coffee and bakery items each visit to savannah...
google avatar

Marissa K.

Yelp
Bakery/cafe is attached to the Thompson hotel. Convenient if staying there. Sandwiches are premade which means no customization. Staff was friendly. At the time they were open until I believe 3p daily. Some items were a little pricey, the bread was decent.

Amy H.

Yelp
Great service. Great food. 10/10 would come back again. Jessie up front is super knowledgeable and kind and the food is amazing.

Yelp
Amazing Focaccia bread varieties! Loved the ambiance too. Tried the croissants too- yum!

Yelp
After reading other reviews, we were excited to try Stevedore, which was closer to our home than the other excellent bakeries in town. Sad to say, we've been there three different times to give them a fair chance. Two things are consistent: the breads and croissants are overbaked, and staff is not warm and welcoming. We are avid travelers and have been to Paris and Montréal a number of times, attended croissant-making classes in Paris, and this is not how the French finish their patisseries: they would call them burnt. Prices are expensive and location has very little parking. Charming interior space, if only the staff were as charming as the space. Very limited hours: they close at 2p daily and if you're not there by 1:50, they're locking it up. Based on the low patronage, I'd say we're not the only ones with this experience.

Dominic S.

Yelp
Super cool little coffee shop. Grab a coffee and walk along the Savannah River. I got a cortado & a muffin. Both were great. The decor was super cool. Would definitely recommend grabbing a coffee & pastry.

Yelp
Absolutely the best blueberry muffin I've ever had!! Incredibly moist and delicious! And the baguettes looked amazing!! Definitely will be back to try that and more!

Yelp
We only had coffee and croissants. They were amazing. Really nice stylish place. Next time we will be in town We're definitely gonna stop by

Yelp
Best bread, hands down in Savannah. Good sandwiches and sweets too....even the yogurt was amazing

Yelp
Unbelievable pastries including a Dim Sum one that I can't stop thinking about...fireworks in my mouth. Great coffee too; can be hard to find early in Savannah and they open at 7am.

Kathleen J.

Yelp
Fantastic. Limited menu but everything is delicious. The apple tart and sweet potato bread are to die for. The coffee is so good. I just wish they had more of a selection daily.
google avatar

Kim F.

Yelp
Rude is an understatement! Gave me a hard time about my service dog. The sandwich was so dry and overpriced! Never coming back! The lady didn't even say hello and welcome Nuys immediatly told me to move my service dog. They don't customize sandwiches so when I asked for sourdough bread they gave me a hard time. The sandwich came with the most discussing tasting red peppers! Dry and no mustard . I tried to throw out my trash which was the sandwich I didn't hwrdly eat and the young man made a sarcastic comment to me. I felt I welcomed /.

Yelp
Delicious croissants and focaccia. The bakery is neat and clean, and the coffee is great too. 10/10 highly recommend!

Paul K.

Yelp
Attentive service. Croissant very tasty albeit much crispier than I am accustomed to. Breakfast sandwich was very disappointing---every part was blah from the eggs to the bread and the bacon. I would not go back for breakfast but will try their bread.

Marissa W.

Yelp
Cute bakery and good location. Food is so so and service is lousy. Very expensive. Rude staff. Adequate food that looks much better than it tastes.

Steven A.

Yelp
Great chocolate croissant pastries and sesame bread. Will visit again when I'm in the area.

Sandy R.

Yelp
The lemon poppyseed muffin, still warm from the oven, was like a little piece of heaven. The lavender mint tea were divine.

Hailey H.

Yelp
They were amazing! Fast service and the food was so good. It was such a cute bakery! Carter was very kind and helpful when I was trying to decide what I wanted!
