Place seems nice but has concerts on Thursdays and Fridays during the summer that can go as late as 930, making it impossible to do anything else at the hostel. When we were there we had to physically walk through the playing band, trying not to trip over wires and pedals, to enter or exit the room. Not recommended on Thursday or Fridays in the summer if you don't want to party or have kids.

Rustic furniture, flooring and carpentry shows deep respect and pride toward ancestors. The exterior antique minimalistic construction sideview greatly deceives the comfort and functionality of the residence inside. If goal is experiencing old Sweden - a place is recommended.

Very old and beautifully kept inn. Rooms are pretty and comfortable. Breakfast costs extra, it's good and typical - yogurt, muesli, ham, boiled eggs, rolls and butter and jam. Really nice owner with helpful tips like where to go for a good bike ride.

After arriving at the hotel grounds, it resembled a refugee shelter more than the quaint hotel that it had previously been famous for. Masses of Syrians, Afghans and so on, standing around outside intimidating passers by.||How can an owner take in these people and self sabotage their own business in this way?||I will never stay here again and will tell others of my experience also.

I often stay in hostels around the world and this one was one of my favourites. Great location - easy access to public transport and right on the water. The accommodation has lots of character and makes for a special experience, whilst also being clean, comfortable and welcoming. Unlike most HI branded hostels that I find sterile and usually avoid this one is lovely. The guest kitchen is clean and user friendly and there are indoor and outdoor seating area that you actually want to spend time in. The manager Carina is welcoming and hospitable.

Great local on the harbor. Live in old town, in one of the cities oldest buildings. Homemade pastry and inexpensive in the cafe. Artistic decor w/ antiques galore. The owner is an artist and hostess with great energy and connections
