9 Best Gelato Shops in Venice | Condé Nast Traveler

"Stickhouse Venezia, a tiny, unassuming gelato stand, goes in a surprising, somewhat unorthodox, direction: swap the cone and the cup, and present artisanal gelato on a stick. High-end raw ingredients like milk and sugar—no emulsifiers, dyes, preservatives, or artificial flavors—go into small batches of gelato. There's a variety of flavors; standouts include strawberry, mango, licorice, and chocolate. Inside is standing-room-only, with a modest glass case filled with a rainbow assortment of sweet options." - Jenna Scatena

If you are green tea lover (especially matcha tea) I highly recommend you to try their matcha tea ice-cream. I couldn't stop eating it, it's really very tasty. This ice-cream doesn't need any toppings, I think :))) I also tried chocolate (with chocolate topping and almonds - was amazing too), hazelnut (with white chocolate topping and pistachio, good but liked less, too sweet for me). Everything is depending on your taste of course, all ice cream was tasty and high quality. But for me the best was the matcha :))))

Google
Fabby ice cream that you can personalise, I got cheesecake ice cream with milk chocolate, sprinkles and white chocolate stripes (€4)White, milk and dark chocolate available, sprinkles, almonds, pistachio and coconut toppings to choose from, great find, all gluten free too

Google
Friendly staff, reasonable prices, but not the best gelato, and the cannoli filling tasted more like frosting.

On a hot day in Venice, this will be your heavenly refuge. Pretty and tasty!

I had the chocolate ice cream, it was very rich and tasty, but I wouldnt consider this gelato. Especially while touring around italy for only a short period of time, I think it's worth it to seek out other more authentic dessert options.

Google
This place offers Popsicles that are such a great treat! They offer many dairy free options!! We had the strawberry and the coffee. Both were really something special!

Google
Very natural melon ice sticks. Strongly recommend to fruit-aholic

Google
The frozen ice cream bars are deceiving. Frozen sorbe rather than gelato. 5euro for something really not that great in my opinion.

Yelp
Horrible, a huge waste of time and money. Charged me for a large when I got a small. Guy behind counter was extremely grumpy. Gelato was iced over and tasted bland. Do not come.

Yelp
Delicious and beautiful. No false advertisement. Art on a stick indeed. And there's vegan stuff. Not that I tried that....

Yelp
Randomly came across this walking through the streets of Venice. Near a few restaurants and shops. They sell gelato on a stick, both indulgent and fruity flavors ranging from 2.50-3 euros. Extra 50 cents to dip it in chocolate and you can add toppings too! Ordered the raspberry popsicle dipped in dark chocolate. Chocolate froze quickly and was a great mix of sweetness and tartness. Super refreshing on a hot summer day in Venice.

Yelp
I was not pleased with this spot. I saw a dead fly in their peanut dip. As far as their gelato goes it is okay. I mean it's not creamy and dense like gelato should be. It's more like frozen ice cream on a stick. I will say that this is a fun way to eat your ice cream. It is absolutely a fun way to present a product that is oversaturated in this area. It makes this place stick out to consumers. I would say don't get sucked into their presentation because their taste does not compare to the more traditional gelato in the area.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place. Who doesn't want gelato on a stick in Venice? So we journeyed through the crowded streets and allies to make our way to this tiny shop. Once we arrived there, we saw an array of gelato on popsicle sticks. There were so many flavors and it was so colorful. Also, there were different chocolate dips and toppings. I got the pistachio gelato dipped in dark chocolate and drizzled with some more dark chocolate. Honestly, it was very cute and tasty, but nothing can beat the regular gelato on the streets. The popsicles were very expensive compared the the regular gelato that you can get. It was worth it to try one time, but I think I'll stick to the regular gelato.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this shop right after eating 2 lunches. I was stuffed but I had to try this. I ordered the coffee gelato stick dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in pistachio pieces. This was 3.5 euros. Not bad. But after converting it to dollars, this is quite pricey. I had to gobble it up quickly because there were leaks in my shell so it wasn't fun to eat. Great popsicle though!

Yelp
Variety of Popsicles from standard fruit and chocolate flavors to mojito, fig and milk. It's a nice break from the gelato stands everywhere in Venice. This was right next to our Airbnb so we got this every night. My husband especially liked the mint chocolate and the fig was delicious. Tastes like they use really ingredients as I had fig seeds in my pop.

Yelp
Delicious ice pops in interesting flavours (I saw a cocoa sorbet!) it's tasty and the ingredients are all fresh. Do be aware though that it's not real Italian gelato because that would fall off of the stick due to its liquidy nature. Still it's very good and I will be coming back!

Yelp
Wish they had one of these in Chicago! My husband and I tried the watermelon and coconut popsicles. So delicious and refreshing! You can also dip your popsicles with chocolate! Yum!

Yelp
This isn't gelato, these are popsicles. I was here in Venice with my daughter and we both agreed this was our favorite dessert. It's so creamy and the flavors are amazing. Defiantly worth hunting down.

Yelp
We just stumbled upon this shop and had to give it a try. We had a sorbet (watermelon) and normal (coconut) popsicle and loved both. They do accept credit cards and the staff member that helped us spoke English too.
