Sticky Rice Cooking School and Villa Accommodation

My husband and I spent the weekend in the Japanese Villa and joined one of the cooking classes and we absolutely loved every moment. The villa was spotless and the perfect romantic escape for our wedding anniversary. The class itself was fantastic: Yuki was hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable, and explained everything so clearly while sharing tips we can easily use at home. We can’t wait to come back!

Myself and my Wife stayed in the Yoko Villa for 3 nights as a part of our honeymoon, and enjoyed a Japanese-themed private cooking class during our stay. Daniel was prompt & clear with his communications and extremely caring, with Yukiko Sensei providing us with an awesome experience for the cooking class that was a perfect balance of hands on cooking & enjoyment. Would highly recommend Sticky Rice for any couple sharing a special occasion, or even just a short stay-cay. Beautiful location, great facilities and service to match!

Had an excellent afternoon at the Mastering Asian class with Genevieve. She was clear and thorough with her instructions, and attentive to all the participants. The class was well paced. Food was excellent. Will definitely be making the beef rendang at home!

We stayed 2 nights at Sticky Rice, and did the Tasting Asia (without seafood) cooking class. The rooms were amazing ($$$), though breakfast were provisions maybe a little stingy for two nights, especially considering the cost. One word of warning; the sliding door to our villa (Zen) was extremely heavy and hard to move, worth considering if you have an injury or are older. Our cooking class was fun, though we felt a little on edge throughout, as our chef instructor, though friendly, was sometimes scant on detail when explaining what we were to do, and then got frustrated when we did something wrong. This for some reason became less of an issue once we had had a glass of wine. The food we cooked was amazing, and we learned a lot from the experience. The people (both participants and staff) were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely consider doing another class, though the pricey accommodation means we will likely not stay again.

Absolutely fantastic way to spend a day. Sticky rice cooking school is well served, has very friendly and knowledgeable staff and above all is a lot of fun. We spent the day cooking, slicing, dicing, frying, making sausages and baking as well as getting to know a lot of great people. At the end of the lesson we all sat down and had a class of wine and an incredible Moroccan banquet. Thanks to Mark and Wallis who made a wet, cold winters day a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful, fun-filled evening! Chef Yuki (not sure about the spelling) was not only a wealth of knowledge but entertaining at the same time. We also made some yummy food!

Went to awesome cooking class with Yukiko at Sticky Rice. Really well explained, fun, met some great people and learned a whole load of new recipes and techniques. Highly recommended!

We did the Essential Asian with Chef Yukiko. Such a fun and informative night out! Amazing food, high quality chef and lovely setting. Would highly recommend for couples or groups of friends.
