Nice restaurant with an old history. Food is very well made, delicious and has a lot of options to choose from. I recommend trying the Gefilde which is potato dumplings with meat, sour kraut and delicious sauce. If you're a large group of people you may be seated at one of those tables that have cranes for pouring beer which are connected to one of the 4 one thousand litre tanks which you can see beneath the restaurant. Service is not the best as you don't get checked on often, which is the reason I missed the desert. Convenient location. I recommend checking it out.

German-style cuisine, with a great atmosphere and excellent service! Highly recommended for large group gatherings and dinners.

What an amazing place!! Finding this gem off a market square after the hotel recommended a visit. Staff very helpful - especially with my lack of German 😂 Atmosphere was great, a superb selection of food including traditional German dishes and Beer!! A must if visiting Saarbrücken.

Huge building with lots of seats. Although it was very full already, we luckily still got a free table. Good German food. I tried the Vegane Frikadüse which was a bit dry for my taste but nice to have a vegan option nonetheless. For a bigger group that wants to spend some time it's good!

If you are looking for a scrumptious original veal schnitzel and the best damn sauerkraut in Germany, this is the place. The food, service and atmosphere was flawless! The Stiefel was a high end brewery with a nostalgic feel. Everything from the vintage newspaper menus, from the 1930s fonts on the coasters and glasses added to the artistic flair in this throwback establishment . Remarkably, the waitress was fantastic and was skillfully attentive although she had a crazy busy workload. Definitely Saarbrücken‘s finest highlight.

Heavenly and delicious Food. Tried the Easter special menu-Leg of Lamb and Asparagus Starter in port wine sauce with fresh rosemary, macaire potatoes, and carrot and parsley root vegetables

I circled the dining district twice looking at seating, plates and the general atmosphere of the area's restaurants. Stiefel stood out, and then turned out to be the best meal I had in several weeks of solo travel across Europe. Head chef or possible owner came by twice to make sure all was well. Wait staff were attentive and the interior was incredibly well thought out. A standout meal.
