Best place ever! Kind people and beautiful view☺️

We had a dog and stayed in one of the dog rooms. Our floors were not cleaned. We found the decor, comfort more like we were at a summer camp, not a hotel. The breakfast quality of food was not high. You need to come when it starts at 8. They don’t refill bacon, boiled eggs, and fruit, so come early to get what you want. You have a choice for cleaning. If you decide not to have your room cleaned, they donate that money to youth and people who cannot afford to come, so they can enjoy and experience it. That was a very nice gesture that we opted for. This is a perfect place for kids camp. The staff at check in was very nice. Other than that, we didn’t come across staff.

This restaurant is run by the Swedish church and located by the Rättvik church and Lake Silian. We have been to their lunch buffet several times and always much impressed by high quality of sallad and food. Besides it is located so beautiful by the lake Siljan that you see a fantastic view outside.

Simple but fresh rooms. Had a good night's sleep when it was super hot outside. Nice play room available for the kids with toys from the 80s and 90s, fun for kids and nostalgic parents. Note that the place is owned by the local church and is marked as a safe place for people with substance abuse, so no alcohol allowed on premise. Some logistics issues when busy.

I booked a package here for the ski-race Vasaloppet, and it all worked out very well. Everything was included; accommodation, food and bus to and from the race. Great!||||My room was a double, which meant two single beds pushed together. Nice and clean bathroom, TV, desk and an armchair. Breakfast was fantastic, with the option to make oneself a packed lunch as well. Dinner was not so good in my opinion, and in the evening after the race they were already clearing the tables although there were several more people to come, and there was little left to chose from. There was a vegetarian dish each night, and plenty of vegan options for breakfast. ||Reception staff were really nice and friendly and made everyone feel welcome. Location-wise it is a fair walk from the town centre, but you can do it in twenty minutes. Worth bearing in mind if you have a lot of luggage though.

A really nice hotel, seated in a historical building and located right at the lake Siljan with a spectacular view. Very affordable prices and a nice staff. The breakfast is a treat with everything you could ask for. The hotel is run by the swedish church, so there's no alcohol served. Hence the 4 star review. Nice and quiet and a perfect place for families with young kids.

This place was always going to be something different, and so my expectations were partially managed. It's the location where the church holds retreats and courses, and therefore sounds in principle as though it would be more like a summer camp than an attractive overnight destination. However, the information available pre-booking made it sound like a professional hotel. The truth is somewhere in between.||||There was nothing much wrong with my room, there just wasn't anything right with it either. The decor was acceptably tasteful, but clearly done on a budget, with linoleum and waterproof, plastic wall paper in the bathroom, and an absence of toiletries and things like plug outlets near the bed which are common in hotels. Terrestrial TV channels were all there was. There was wifi only in the lobby. Breakfast was a modest affair.||||The stunning location, right on charming Lake Siljan, is the best selling point. It's worth putting up with quite a lot of minor inconveniences to be in such a lovely setting. ||||On balance, though, even the lake didn't quite make up for the disappointment of paying premium hotel rates for a facility that was second-rate at best. I don't think I'll be back.

This summer, I stayed at Stifstgarden for a week. It was very interesting. The hotel is ran by the Swedish Church, which enabled my family and I to learn more about it... ||The rooms were very nice, some even have a view on the Lake (!). Breakfast and the service in general also impressed me in a good way. You can also rent good bikes to visit the area, and keep you in shape.||||This hotel is a great place to relax, and reconnect with nature.
