We were in Wrangell for a week with a photography group. We stayed at the Stikine Inn and ate most of our meals at the restaurant. Both were top notch. Nothing too fancy about the rooms, but solid, clean place to stay. There are microwaves and little refrigerators in the rooms. Laundry on site. The restaurant was great! The ingredients are fresh and all dishes were amazing. We had most items on the menu over the week :) Restaurant can get busy, so recommend making a reservation. Smaller groups are also more efficiently served. Hope to return to both! Great place in town, right on the water.

We did not stay here but we did eat lunch in the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. The view looking across the water was peaceful and beautiful. I had the fish sandwich and my boys all had smash burgers. They said their burgers were great. No one had any food left! The fries were piping hot and perfectly fried. Not greasy. And the grandsons had milkshakes. They were fantastic!!! I highly recommend!!

The rating is specifically for the restaurant and the poor service. My coworker and I came to the restaurant since we are staying here for two nights. Mind you. they were not busy yet. Ordered our meals. Hers came and the waitress acknowledged that mine was coming. Brought out the meals for the people next to us. She never once came back to check on my meal. We had to signal another waitress to see if she could check on it. Mind you My co-worker had practically finished her meal after waiting a good 15mins to eat. When my waitress finally came back and said, oh I made a mistake. I can have your meal out in 10 minutes. I declined the meal. She never refilled my soda. Then came back and said, oh dessert's on the house. If you'd like it ridiculousness I never even had dinner. I got up and said, no thank you and left. Come to find out she had the nerve to charge my co-worker for my drink that she never refilled. We told her separate checks from the beginning. I'm absolutely appalled at the service. She gave me a little pat on the back and said, oh, i'm sorry and I know. That was very condescending as far as iI'm concerned. That is not how you treat a customer. I had walked out of the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager who couldn't even take the time to come out of the kitchen for 5 minutes to talk to me about the poor service.

My overall gripe is one night The restaurant staff was absolutely terrible But the next night our waitress a younger black gal was one of the best ever. The other gripe is the astronomical fee of over $400 per night.

Quaint hotel right on the water. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was clean and nice. The restaurant was nice with great views. Fish and chips were great.

Not sure what I was expecting but this hotel exceeded it! Very nice staff, comfortable beds, spacious rooms that are very clean! The best part is the great restaurant and coffee shop downstairs. Would definitely stay again! Look at this view from my hotel room!!!

staff in the restaurant and bar were great.||Front desk staff at check in was pretty monotone and lacked sincerity, reading the litany of rules one had to follow...zero eye contact and just read through so many rules I glossed over them. Other staff at front desk was super pleasant.||Despite the speech at check in, there were still more rules/ signs everywhere...fee if you removed the screen, dont leave door open when you take a shower, leave shower curtain in the tub, fee if you lost your key and on and on. ||Owner/Manager should consider talking to their chef, who for both of our two nights, exploded into his own tirade of frustrations of life in the hospitality business and why everyone needs to only listen to him. It was a profanity filled rant both nights for every guest on the back side of the hotel to listen too. Maybe there are no choices in a town like this, and I get that, but he shouldn't have a job after his performance.||Clean room, but sadly, it seems like there are two kitchen fans...both were shut off the first night, but one was left on the second night that we got to listen to. ||Seriously not a bad place, just needs some fine-tuning and polish by whomever is in charge.

Yelp
It's an oldie that's for sure! It's dated but the service is always warm and good, rooms are clean. The restaurant however is FABULOUS. The drinks, view, and food are a winner. We come here every year and I love the appetizers, specifically the Brussels with pork belly is out of this world. The chicken chop is rich and filling, it's a good one.

Yelp
The food was beautifully presented, delicious and accompanied by excellent service. The Bloody Mary was well mixed, spiced and came with bacon. Great place with a view of the water.

Yelp
What a gem this place is! Right on the water at the public docks, an easy walk to shops, The Nolan Center & Museum, grocery and liquor store, library, post office - everything you need. But honestly there's little need to leave once you arrive. They have a cafe for espresso drinks, breakfast burritos, egg sandwiches, etc, also lunch type sandwiches. Then there's the restaurant for dinner. Every thing we had was delicious. It seems to be where the locals go for dinner also. The interior of the Inn seemed to have been renovated in the last few years as the carpet & paint are very nice. Good bedding, VERY clean, nice shower. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. There's shuttle service from the airport and laundry facilities available for $4 a load (includes detergent & dry sheet!) and decent wi-fi. We have so enjoyed our experience here at Stikine Inn! I'm surprised there aren't any recent reviews here on Yelp.

Yelp
Definitely the town's main nice restaurant and tourist friendly place. Pricing is reflective of this as is the menu. Upgraded options and inventive cooking, spendy as a result. We enjoyed our meal but honestly were quite happy with other options along Front Street. Do try the fish and chips - the fish is locally caught and is delicious.

Yelp
We had a great dinner at the Stikine Inn. The service is excellent and the food is delicious and the portions are huge. I got Chicken Alfredo with big chunks of chicken and grilled bread. The others all ordered Elk Meatloaf topped with fried onions. Elk Meatloaf is one of their most popular meals. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the outdoor patio is wonderful for a summer evening. We would love to return here.

Yelp
My one and only experience at the Stikine Inn was fantastic. Marvelous. Outstanding. Top-notch. First, the restaurant, which is open to the public for lunch and dinner, had attentive, friendly staff and their food was the best I had in my stay at Wrangell. In addition, the dining area had a great view of Zimovia Strait. Second, my room had a similar view since it was right above the dining area. It was fairly clean and the bathroom had travel-size packages of shampoo, bar soap, and lotion, like every hotel should. Third, continental breakfast exceeded my expectations. Cereal, fruit juice, pastries, check. Barista and fresh fruit? Now you're talking. Fourth, free airport shuttle. Just as our plane was boarding, I realized that I forgot something in my hotel room. I called the hotel and they brought me the forgotten item almost immediately! From this experience alone they deserve the coveted five-star rating. Some minuses: No wireless internet, my room smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking room, and the smoke detector is extremely loud and sensitive. I forgot to turn the vent fan on in the bathroom before taking a shower and the vapors triggered the smoke detector, which was located no less than three feet from the bathroom door. I'm glad I still have my ears.

Yelp
It's cute! Love that it's out by the ferry dock! Close to little shops and stores! The restaurant is amazing! Loved the hours of the cafe! Staff was very friendly!

Yelp
Heard from somebody that the Stikine fixed up one of the best (albeit, also most expensive) mushroom Swiss burgers he'd ever had, so I thought I'd give it a try. Was very good; extremely juicy, and the chips were done very well. Sports a full bar to boot, the staff is friendly, I loved the view from the dining area's big windows; in all, a great stop if you're in Wrangell, looking for a solid meal. It's not a place I could comfortably afford to eat at more than once or twice a month, but it's a treat. (I also recommend anything that came from the sea at some point. Good chowder.)

Yelp
Great food and service! Owner and staff were really friendly, even though they were really busy! Their specials were fantastic! If your in the mood for some a super yummy, hearty meal try the chicken chop with bacon gravy! I thought it was out of this world. Had their pasta dish as well and that was out of sight. The dollar you spend I feel is definitely worth it!! Nowhere in the SE AK will you get better food for your money!! Thanks for the experience Sitkine Inn!!

Yelp
Had a great stay here at the Stikine Inn. The service was well above expectation. Special thanks to the owner and his wife, and Auggie for all the shuttle service. I ate in the restaurant everyday during my stay and was never disappointed.

Yelp
Stikine Inn was not my favorite place... I was traveling for work during the winter and was not impressed by the accommodations. It was a maze to get to my room and did not have elevators - this would be very difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

Yelp
Food is awesome. Little too spendy, but you get huge portions. Hotel is being updated.

Yelp
Great food with a minor exception of the French Onion soup. It Lacked strong Flavor and had too many onions in it. The Chicken chop and the hot wok was excellent. Super service and great wine. Great service all around

Yelp
Reading previous reviews, it occurs to me that something horrible must have happened to the staff in the past year. I've dined at this restaurant several times recently, and each time the service was atrocious! I don't think I've ever been treated worse by waiters/waitresses. Once when politely asking that someone please let our waitress know we were ready to order (after waiting 45 minutes), a waitress sighed loudly in my face, and if looks could kill, I would be dead in Alaska right now. Most recently, my party and I all ordered very small (seemingly easy) meals in a hardly crowded restaurant, and we left with to go boxes because 45 minutes later, we still didn't have our food. The staff once again blew me off when I smiled and asked if she could check on our food. The food is good. The portions are enormous. The view is awesome. Every single thing else about this restaurant is awful. I have consistently left feeling unwelcomed and unwanted, like the entire staff wishes everyone would just go away and let them go home. Not worth it, but they will continue to make money because they have zero competition. I hope the owner and manager wise up and can the help that is dragging this place down. What an awesome restaurant this could be! Such a shame...

Yelp
This review is strictly for their restaurant. I was in Wrangell for the day on a cruise ship and I wanted to try some of the local cuisine. There were not many options so I just the one that had the best ratings. It's seat yourself which is not obvious at all (we stood around then finally asked a waitress). They have some nice right on the harbor seating but that was all full when we were there. They menu was larger than I expected with quite a few different types of cultures represented. There was not anything that was unique to Alaska besides fish (which I do not eat). I ended up just getting the BBQ chicken sandwich and my wife got a halibut sandwich. Both dishes were good but not much different than any regular restaurant back home. The service was friendly and was at a decent pace. A bit pricey for what is was but you have to remember you are pretty much in the middle of nowhere.

Yelp
Nice location right on the water. Room was 134, the Water-Front Extended Stay Suite w/Kitchenette for a week long stay. Enjoyed this end unit with views from both windows and the cross ventilation was key. It's not a fancy room, but adequate and well set with a small fridge, microwave, sink, & coffee maker. In the lower 48 this would be a 2-3 star property, but Alaska is its own place and it is on par or better than other places I have stayed in SE AK. The restaurant is fantastic and the food is really outstanding. If you are planning to eat here more than once, I suggest leaving a generous tip as the staff will remember you and future service will be with a smile. I was tempted to try out another place to stay while I was here, but the Stikine was exactly what I was looking for and centrally located with a nice coffee shop within and friendly staff. The only thing to be aware of is the employee smoking area is right outside this particular room and smoke smell is a bit of an issue. Definitely would stay here again. Enjoy.

Yelp
Recently stayed at the Stikine Inn during my first trip ever to Alaska. The staff was so friendly and courteous. Anything we asked for was furnished for us.. The room was very clean and spacious. And, who could resist the view....right on the ocean!! Would recommend to everyone
