Google
Christiana was our server, Fantastic! We started with Conch Fritters, Mahi Tacos, Lobster Crab Busque soup and Alligator bites. All of the food was prepared perfectly and large portions. Very reasonable prices. We could not fit dessert, we were stuffed.

Google
The food at Stingrays was amazing! We were greeted as soon as we walked in, which set a great tone for the visit. We chose to sit indoors, but they also have a beautiful outdoor dining area worth checking out. We ordered the country boil for two to which everything was delicious! My only small suggestion would be to offer a side of steamed rice to go with it. The prices were surprisingly affordable, too. I kind of wish it was right on the beach, but it’s still very close to the boardwalk, so the location is definitely a plus. Overall, a great experience! (You can also bring your own catch to have it cooked but you do have to clean it yourself)

Leana M.

Google
Food is good. Fresh fish today is grouper and was fried well. Service good. Wish they had a smaller size gumbo/bisque rather than the full bowl. Located right by the road, easy walk from where we were staying. Otherwise 5 stars.

Google
I won’t be returning here: 1) There was NO SEASONING on our gator “strips”. 2) The gator strips were BITES and NOT STRIPS. 3) The service made me uncomfortable. The host was really nice; however the servers made us feel like we were going to dine and dash, inconveniencing them. She also rushed us out after saying “no rush” and got loud with me while I was in mid conversation to get the money for the tab that was sitting on the table. 4) Someone was knocking on the outside window where we were sitting and NO ONE seemed to know who, what, or why. 5) The crab stew was thick and chunky, unseasoned, and tasted off. Out of all the places in Tybee, this has been the worst place.

Google
Great food! Me and my family really enjoyed. The server was really nice and engaged conversation with all the guests. Highly recommend. 👍🏾

Google
We loved our meal. The atmosphere, the vibe, our server Jessie was attentive and friendly and helpful. Your crab legs were the best of our trip. I’d go back in a heartbeat! Plus we had an inside table to beat the heat of last week. We were stoked for all the right reasons!!

Rebecca S.

Google
We did a brunch of calamari, hush puppies, & fish bites. With a bowl crab lobster soup. The fish bites could have cooked a bit longer. That was our only ugggg! Will we be back, heck yeah!!!!

Cammy Stout H.

Google
Great food, service and atmosphere! I loved the hush puppies and that they served them with honey butter! The alligator bites were also very good! I ordered a house salad with shrimp and it was very good. I tried a few bites of the fries, crawfish and soft shell crab sandwich and all were good. They also made me a virgin pina colada which was great, very smooth and delicious!

Yelp
Sting Ray's Seafood completely blew my mind with their portion sizes. Dana was my server and she did a great job making sure everything came out smoothly. I ordered the Ramsey Snow Crab boil for one and had to double check that it wasn't for two because the platter was huge. It came with three snow crab legs, about a pound of shrimp, a pound of sausage, plus potato and corn. There was no way I could have finished it all by myself. I also tried the crab fritters as an appetizer, which were like mini crab cake balls, and they were really good. The only negative aspect of my visit was the bathroom located inside the restaurant. While using it I stepped on a tile in front of the toilet that popped up and threw me off balance. It may be a little TMI for a restaurant review, but it is definitely a safety hazard. I really hope the restaurant gets this addressed promptly because I often travel with my elderly grandmother, and I can only imagine how dangerous that could be for her or anyone else.

Yelp
Incredibly slow service, with no sense of urgency. Very bizarre night we had here. We sat at our table for 25 minutes before we were greeted. I felt sympathy for our server because she was the only server for the entire 8-table rooftop, and was also in charge of making all of her table's drinks, on a Saturday night, during the summer, in a restaurant in a very popular vacation area. To do this efficiently would be difficult for even the most seasoned of servers. Any sort of acknowledgement or apology would have gone a really long way, though. My 1/2 Pound Snow Crab barely contained any meat because the legs were so thin. Thankfully, I got to eat some of my friend's Crab Cake Sandwich, which was tasty and I enjoyed the creamy homemade dill sauce it came with. I also loved the Sting Shooter oyster shot. The oyster was huge (almost too big!) and you get a souvenir shot glass. Hopefully, this was just a one-off night. Wishing better for this restaurant in the future!

Yelp
Sadly I would stay shy of this place if you are visiting Tybee. We went here for dinner tonight on Tuesday and found out the rooftop dining is only open on Friday & Saturday. Oh well. We sat outside. The ambiance is... interesting, especially on the ground level where we sat directly adjacent to the sidewalk and busy road. Our server was nice, and got our drink and food order pretty quick. After our food was delivered, we did not see them until it was time for the check. Ok, onto the food. The food was disappointing at best. I got the cheeseburger (granted this is a seafood place) and expected better. It tasted like a boiled burger. Like one you get in high school at the cafeteria. They asked me how I wanted it cooked as well. The fries were those scrunched up ones you get frozen from the store. Not sure if they were frozen here, but they were alright. My partner got the snow crab and said it was alright. All in all, for the price (and if you're just dining and not sitting at the bar) - I would steer clear of this place. Many other places on the island where you can get much better food for a much better price.

Yelp
More like 4 1/2 stars! This was our second favorite restaurant on island. The place is quite casual with an upper and outside deck. Inside there is a bar and several low and high tables. We chose to sit in the air conditioning. The bar was full of folks eating and drinking. And the restaurant was quite busy but we got good and friendly service. I started with their "famous" crab stew. It was creamy and packed with crab meat. Very, very good. After that i had their softshell crab sandwich. It came with fries but I switched to red potatoes. There were two meaty lightly breaded soft shells on the roll. Done of the best I've had in a long time. My husband had the peel n eat shrimp. Served warm and buttery, there was a lot of shrimp in his half pound portion. He said they were great. We'd definitely recommend this restaurant. And I would go back in a heart beat for those soft shell crabs....

Nick H.

Yelp
Service was only ok. Food was mediocre. Price was too much for the place and the food. Mostly outdoor seating.
google avatar

Lili J.

Yelp
Probably my least favorite meal that I had while visiting Tybee. Our server was nice and the outside patio isn't bad but the food just didn't do it for me. I tried the blackened mahi sandwich and it was just so bad. It didn't taste blackened at all and even though most places in the island might use frozen food, you can definitely taste it here. It didn't have any flavor except for a slight fishy taste and it was hard and not flaky at all. The fries were the best part. I was told lobster and crab bisque was good. Also tried the hush puppies which were fine but sweeter than I like and the conch fritters were super chewy in a very unappealing way. I feel like there are better places on the island to get similar food so I would not go back here.

Debbie L.

Yelp
We got the low country boil and it was amazing!! It was cooked to perfection and very The managers were extremely helpful and nice!! The food was cooked to perfection and very flavorful!!

Yelp
Service was fast, friendly and fantastic! Great recommendation on the Dungeness Crab ! 3 clusters for 1 serving. Delicious! Coconut shrimp was crispy and perfectly cooked. The upstairs bar was great. The tables are a little high and chairs we ere awkward to sit in. It was still okay, just needs a little tweaking .

Yelp
It was alright. I was staying on Tybee and wanted to take a walk to dinner and I had driven past this place a few times. So I grabbed a book and walked over for an early-ish dinner. I got seated right away, outside. The patio seems to be dog friendly, but I do not mind be approached by dogs! Humans are hit or miss... The offerings seem to be mostly local and fresh, of course. And unfortunately I am on a bit of a budget. So the things I was going to be able to afford was going to be a lot of fried things. But hey...it is also vacation, so treat yo-self. I opted for the crab balls and the dill sauce was pretty dang good! I am not usually a big sauce person, but it definitely added to the dish. I also got an order of hush puppies, which was just a bit much as a solo diner... Service was ok and my soda remained full when asked. I was also able to get a to-go drink for my walk back to the airbnb an the evening. So basically...everything was fine. Nothing really stood out and I had better meals and dining experiences on the island. Seemed like a good place for families, but I had an ok time as a solo traveler and diner too.

Nina C.

Yelp
Great service and good atmosphere, we were seated and order taken within 20 minutes. I will be back soon.

Yelp
Love this place always. This is my 2nd time going here. I got the 1/2 lb snow crab and 1/2 lb Dungeness crab. This is the best crab I've had on the island. They season it like no other. I mean hands covered. It's amazing. The crab meat itself is super fresh and good. Service is always great and they have a nice outdoor patio but the inside is also just as nice.
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
I'm being nice to give it 3 stars. By far our worst meal on Tybee. The low-country boil had mushy corn, some cold shrimp, some hot (all bland), weak crab without much good meat. Rather expensive. We got 2 orders to go for those in our party arriving later; they both got fish/shrimp tacos. They both got food poisoning, so they definitely didn't care for the place. Nice atmosphere-- small little place inside. Good service, full bar but very mediocre food (plus, the food poisoning!).
google avatar

Kent M.

Yelp
I had a pound of shrimp, excellent!! My wife had crabcakes. Service was good and quick
google avatar

Debbie M.

Yelp
Popped in for a quick appetizer and an adult beverage. Hush puppies were not exactly cooked and fluffy inside but I know some folks enjoy them that way. Kelly's Spritzer tastes flat CO2. My other big peave if you are located in the SEC have those games playing not the others.
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
First stop at Tybee...very energetic and welcoming staff. Food was solid, peel and eat shrimp, Crab cake sandwich and crawfish were excellent. The shrimp cocktail was over priced and the shrimp in the cocktail were significantly smaller than the shrimp I got for peel and eat shrimp. Despite the staff being super awesome, it wasn't busy and drinks took a while to get and the Bloody Mary was rough. Ate inside, good ambiance with a working AC unit.
google avatar

Olga M.

Yelp
How does this place not have 5 stars across the board? This was by far one of the best seafood places I've eaten in a while and I'm well traveled. Crab and lobster bisque was full of flavor and well seasoned. My mom got a grouper and it was so fresh and fried to perfection. Shrimp and snow crab was melting in my mouth. They give you a ton of food too. We had plenty of leftovers. Will have to come back here for sure.

Michael D.

Yelp
Other than taking our order, waitress never returned to table. Good food but a bit pricey, especially for food served in a plastic basket.

S B.

Yelp
Food was absolutely delicious and the Bloody Mary's were even better! The potion sizes were so BIG! Our server was great! Love little restaurants with fun atmospheres!
google avatar

L. N.

Yelp
The bartender made an overtly racists comment about some customers at the bar in front of us, and was quite matter of fact about it, sating "I'm tired of these blacks who don't know how to order, having an attitude when their order is wrong...." . Bad customer service, and racism is always wrong. I havent heard that sort of crap sin e the 70s, and people knew better way back then! Get with it Sting Rays. Fire your racist bartender!
google avatar

Noel E.

Yelp
Loud and crowded, but the food makes it worth it. Recommend the soft shell crab sandwich or the tacos (fish, mahi, or shrimp). Price is a little high, but about what you'd expect for the touristy area.
google avatar

Debra T.

Yelp
Food was great. Service ok. Atmosphere, typical beach restaurant. The reason I gave such a low mark was, they automatically add a 20% gratuity to the bill. And it shows. The server did not work hard for us. I had to wait for my food to get cold for tartar sauce. Shouldn't that come out automatically when it is a seafood restaurant? Then, they charge for a credit card. So, I gave them cash. I only got bills back. Adding the change plus the gratuity, came out to 25% tip. Why pay cash when they keep the credit card fee anyway? I couldn't win. Pay with credit card, pay a fee, pay with cash, pay a larger fee. When I spoke to the server, she said we never give change, we either round up or down. I said that you should notify people of that, she got all puffy and started hunting for change. I just don't think it is right, to me, I was being robbed.

Matthew W.

Yelp
We came twice while we were on Tybee. We visited this establishment just as many times. Highly recommend the crab cakes. Miss things was buttery and delicious. I wish you guys were a little more flexible with substitutions of the sides. Is the coleslaw that popular?

Tracey M.

Yelp
We enjoyed the food as well as the service. We both ordered the fish dinner plate. The fish and fries were hot and well seasoned. We sat on the patio where they had fans going (since summer has returned). We were grateful for it. Our waitress (Lindsey) was so very pleasant and patient with us. She was so engaged with my us and we really appreciated her. This was my 3rd visit and I'm glad to say that Stingray's did not disappoint.

Yelp
As a vegetarian, I tend to get nervous about these coastal restaurants with "seafood" in the name. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the option of a veggie burger and the quality of the sandwich, with the inclusion of well seasoned French fries! A major highlight was the outdoor seating in the shade, which was excellent because it was such a nice day. For someone staying out of town, I also liked that the restaurant is in a part that is so walkable. My seafood-eating family was also impressed by the quality and selection!
google avatar

Erin K.

Yelp
Lots of good stuff going on here: -atmosphere is laid-back -bartenders are friendly -Good variety of foods offered -Foods we received were fresh **If you are a seafood lover, order the mussels! They are wonderfully seasoned! Also, you get a great portion!
google avatar

Nancy B.

Yelp
Perfect vacation relaxed feel-especially if eating on their outside patio. Service was attentive. I had excellent fried shrimp. My son got the blackened redfish po'boy which he raved about. My husband got the soft shell crab sandwich which was a nice big crab and my husband said it was fantastic. Prices are what you should expect in a seafood vacation place. Overall a great relaxed lunch experience.

Yelp
Food was the best on the island. Oysters were great, tuna was great! The waitress was awesome, she helped us shuck our oysters. We ate at lots of places on Tybee and this was the only one I liked!!

Ryan B.

Yelp
Long wait. Poor service. Disappointing food for a $25-$35 per plate establishment. Waited a while to get a seat inside (it was extremely hot outside, so it makes sense that it took a while) but I make it a point to say this because we were in fact seated inside, not outside and people were vaping at the next table. Our server "A" even walked up to the table to give them their checks while they were vaping and still did nothing about it. Service was awful. Our server "A" took our order and vanished. At one point she came back and said food was on its way, but 20 minutes later still no food. Food took 45 minutes to come out. When it did arrive it arrived in waves. One burger, followed by two fried shrimp dishes 5 minutes later, a kids hot dog 10 minutes after that, and then remaining two orders 5 minutes later. No acknowledgment from "A". No follow up afterwards either. With each shrimp basket thing, half the shrimp was overcooked (dark brown) and half was fine (light brown). Either two different deep friers were used for each meal, which would be strange, or they were different orders shared amongst the different plates because two of them were overcooks and they knew it. Kids hotdog came with overpowering seasoning on the fries (which was not disclosed on the menu). It's a kid dish after all. Toddlers dont typically eat old bay seasoning or whatever they poured on it.. Server sure was quick to want to get paid though. I paid for my groups meals and asked to speak to a manager. She then told me "I just want to warn you that the manager is really hard to talk to. I told him about your issues and he said he didnt care". We ate the food. I wasnt trying to get something for free but wanted to make the management aware of the vaping issue and the service issue. As we were leaving she pointed to the old guy in the green shirt saying he was the manager. But they knew I was just a tourist who will leaving soon and just didnt care. Dont waste your time or your money here. It's over priced bar food served on styrofoam and plastic baskets. Management: I am happy to share the names of the employees involved in this meal if you wish to fix the issues you have with violating the Georgia Smoke Free Air Act.

Yelp
Local favorite fried fish was excellent and the gumbo was good too! Service was above and beyond. We will definitely be recommending to others.

Shannon W.

Yelp
Really laid back atmosphere and they really know how to fry their seafood. We had the fried shrimp dinner and it was lightly battered and cooked perfectly. My mother had the oyster poboy and said she hadn't ever had oysters cooked so well. The portions are generous especially since seafood is a little pricier. Overall a really good meal.
google avatar

Bruce L.

Yelp
Good food and service during the busy Memorial Day weekend. Would recommend just be patient for a table.
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
We had the fried shrimp platter. Service was good. Shrimp was great. Just the right taste without too much breading. A great place for a seafood lunch. Not cheap though.
google avatar

Matt N.

Yelp
This was our favorite place we tried on Tybee! Absolutely loved our experience. The seafood was excellent, and well seasoned! I had the crawfish, and the wife had the low country boil combo (I believe it had crab legs and shrimp). The service was pleasant and we loved sitting outside on the deck. After trying a few other places for seafood, we wished we had just gone back to StingRay's!

Beth J.

Yelp
The food was ok. Slaw was tasteless. Fries were tasty. Soft shell crab was mushy in the wrong places! Po Boi was tasty, as was the fish platter. Alligator strips cooked great! Waitress was kind but overworked and absent. If you want fried food, I'm sure there are better choices.
google avatar

Shea P.

Yelp
If coming here my advice is to stick with the Steamers and Boils. I got a fried fish plate because I've eaten low country boils all week at other restaurants. Think of the greasiest fish from Long John Silvers at 5x the price. Josh puppies and slaw were disgusting too. I did have LCB last year on vacay and it was good

Matt W.

Yelp
Food was hot when it came out. Couldn't get the waitress for 12-15 minutes to get tartar sauce. So it got cold. Service sucks here. $8 parking for a terrible experience. Very over priced
google avatar

Kristen L.

Yelp
We were actually walking to a different restaurant and smelled the food coming from StingRay's. We decided to try it and we were very glad we did. We were seated quickly on the deck and enjoyed live music while eating the DELICIOUS food. I highly recommend the shrimp tacos!!!! My 15 year old son ordered the low country boil and loved every bite of it. My husband ordered gumbo and a side of fried oysters. We left completely satisfied. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Small fun place. Good food for price. Good service. Atmosphere is between a dive bar inside and tiki street side outdoor dining. Liked it. Would go again. Chowders were all good.
google avatar

Bowen S.

Yelp
Food was great I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was cooked perfectly. Service was quick and the waitress was very nice.

Sean F.

Yelp
This place was a surprise in some ways. It's a near beachfront place so it was very casual and unassuming. I got the mahi tacos and the fish was overcooked which was disappointing but was happy they had the mahi option. The rest of our parties meals were nothing to write home about but my wife got a tuna steak and it was incredible. Seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly. No joke one of the best tuna steaks I've ever had. Overall this would be a 3 if not for how delicious that tuna was. The host was an older gentleman and we got seated near the host station and he was screaming the names on the list, it was totally unnecessary and jaring. He looked pissed to be there too.

Karla R.

Yelp
The seafood boil is definitely the best seasoned on the island. However I would skip the shrimp- outs were mushy. Fries were great. Drinks were good.
google avatar

Bonnie L.

Yelp
First time to Tybee. First time to StingRays. Our last im afraid. This was their slow season. We were ushered to our table quickly but the wait for the food was a king one. Every single dish we ordered was super salty. Even my husband could t take it and he puts salt on almost everything. They wouldn't take it back or remedy it. They only thing they offered was a sauce to "help " it. We ordered drinks. The Rum runner was decent however the Boucher Cindee was terrible. Again, they wont take it back. They will add something to it to make it "better". For $10 a cup I was surprised. I'm sure the locals love this place but we were not.
google avatar

Joseph J M.

Yelp
Stung like Steve Irwin but we lived, barely Started at the bar with poorly mixed cocktails. Like a college fraternity party all cheap alcohol and a splash of mixer. If you are under 22 this is the bar for you. If you enjoy a well-made drink this is not your place. Conch fritters so over fried the looked like an 8 ball on the pool table. But the tiny bits of conch were so overcooked the Michelin man would be proud to make tires out of it. Order a mix of items for entrees. Steamed clams but received steamed mussels but good news they corrected the order and did not charge the extra dollar the mussels cost over the clams. Thank you manager on duty for only charging us for what we ordered. Crab cakes that looked like a fried plain donut without a hole but a donut may have more crab flavor. I knew it was a mistake to order the tuna steak and it was over seasoned on the "naked" tuna steak and the dryness of styrofoam but herb-rific. The burger your best Sysco patty, 'nough said And if cleanliness is next to godliness, Stingrays must be atheists. You expect to churned and burned in tourist traps but you will spend two plus hours at the table. Avoid at any and all costs.
google avatar

Alisha T.

Yelp
Big crab girl so was very happy to have seafood in general. The crab was so soft alongside the potatoes, shrimp, and sausage. They season it pretty well but I usually like extra spice so I was dipping it in hot sauce lol. I wish I took a picture but the wait ended up being almost an hour instead of 30mins so was hungry but can't say that I didn't leave satisfied! Would recommend since Pier 16 usually needs reservations
google avatar

Mdot M.

Yelp
Went on Mother's day for lunch. every thing was seasoned to perfection. our waitress was very helpful and on point. i ordered the shrimp po boy and he order the low country boil. both were delicious. we had moscow mules to drink, they were good. a patrons som who was seated near us put his toy in my partners drink and the waitress exchanged it out, no problem. we appreciate her for that. the experience was a great one for Mother's day 2024. would return again.
google avatar

Donna W.

Yelp
Stopped here for late lunch yesterday. Waitress was super sweet (didn't get her name but long blonde hair). Husband had fish tacos which were really good and I had clam/lobster bisque which was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Clark L.

Yelp
Service was great, beer was cold and the food was pretty awful. I ordered the Fish dinner plate(supposedly grouper). Hush puppies were cold, frozen French fries were heated frozen French fries and the grouper (?) was wet and cold.Ketchup was good. I live in KW Florida. This wouldn't last there a week as a seafood restaurant

Mike B.

Yelp
Mahi Mahi tacos were really good. Sitting out on the front deck was nice. A little pricey, will cost family of four at least $100.

Bill

Yelp
It was lovely at night! Our waitress was very nice. I enjoyed my hamburger, the best on our trip so far!
