Build on 1871, well maintained, gives a mesmerising cozy feel. Its spectacular with cool vibes. Has locker room, resting places, kids play area, lots of resturants and snack areas. Proper signs to guide newcomers.

We zipped through the station with our group of 11 from bus to train to bus. Easy to negotiate even at high traffic times. One escalator did not work and all others and elevators in great working condition. Subway sandwich place and several eateries. Toilets are paid, clean and gender free

Recommended to use public transport when visiting Stockholm, as the city can be very crowded, especially during peak hours. Parking is limited and free spaces are hard to find, so buses, metro, or trams are a much easier option.👍👍

Stockholm Central Station is always busy and a bit crowded, but compared to many big train stations in Europe, it’s clean, feels safe, and it’s pretty easy to find the information you need. The toilets aren’t free, but you can pay by card. One downside – there could definitely be more seating places while you wait for your train.

Great station, easy to find and lots of space within. International and national trains and an underground too. Lots of snacks and food shops to pick from over 2x floors. And way to get to he right platform... Albeit they are quite spread out so give yourself lots of time.

WARNING! Don't buy tickets from the info desk. I bought tickets from there to get to Copenhagen and they were 3 times the official site. No proper ticket office or machines. 7/11 sells tickets with 5% mark up. Found out on the train to Copenhagen that the info desk is a 3rd party vendor for tours and bookings. Advice - ask for info, find out the carrier and then book directly online. It's sad that the main portal to Sweden is such a rip off for an overseas traveller. Stockholm lift your game :( .

First time here, I felt a bit lost, but then everything was easy to find. Two main issues though: there’s no official ticket office anymore. Only a third-party kiosk that sells tickets and other tourist products with a commission. Also, the SJ Lounge is closed on weekends, which is disappointing for travelers.

Stockholm Central Station is HUGE ! Super beautiful and there's so much to see, shop, and explore! If you're like me and forgot to grab snacks or souvenirs before heading out, this is a great last stop to pick up treats. Just be prepared - things are a bit overpriced, but that's kind of expected in a station like this. One thing that really stood out was how friendly and helpful people were. If you ask for help, they genuinely go out of their way, which made navigating way less stressful. Overall, it's pretty easy to find your way, but it's so big that you can definitely get a little lost. It also has direct access to the subway, which is super convenient. One tip: if you buy the 18-minute ticket to the airport, double-check exactly what you're being sold and make sure you keep your copy. The tours & ticket booth (near McDonald's) sold us the wrong ticket, and we weren't able to use it nor get refunded, which was really disappointing.

This is the train hub we visit on our trip to Stockholm. It's a huge hub with plenty to see, do, and eat while you wait for a train! We didn't take a train during our visit, but we popped into the hub to check it out! They usually have unique dining experiences and shopping, kinda like how we treat malls back home!

This is the core spot for connecting from local transportation to longer distance trains. Stockholm is no different - there are trams and subways and commuter rail and regional trains here as well as local and longer distance buses. All three Stockholm subway lines converge here! As you can imagine, the station is a rabbit warren. With all of these different connections, there are many, many levels. Some of them above ground, most of them below ground. There's signage but it's not completely transparent. I caught myself before boarding the train. Some folks are going to have layovers here. There are multiple food vendors ranging from grab-and-go to sit down restaurants. There's a lounge. And you can step outside for a smoke. It's a modern station with step-free access in nearly all places, or you can take the escalator. This area is located downstairs from the city terminalin. It is super clean and full of restaurants and shopping. Again very clean and orderly. Buy your bus or train tickets and board the train here. The Information booth staff is very helpful and will answer questions about getting around the city.

So this station was completely confusing to me. First, I arrived by train from Denmark. The exit for the train was across the street from the main central station, and that took me a moment to figure out. Then, finally get to the right place, but have no idea I need to go down multiple flights to get to the metro trains. I had to ask multiple employees how to get to where I was going. I'm sure to locals, this station is awesome, but to someone like me, from out of the country and limited access to WiFi, navigating here was tough...yet not impossible.

It was a classic designed of a train station and reminded me of New York City's Grand Central - but at a much smaller scale. There were plenty of stores for all your needs - including both McDonald's and Burger King. We used this station for both the AirPort Express and travel to southern Sweden/Denmark - and we had no problem finding our tracks/platform.

This is quite the hub! It may seem overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it...it is quite convenient. All the "lines" go in and out of here and/or nearby...which makes it a tad confusing when something is listed as "Central Station". For instance, if you take the Tram (aka: street car)...the stop is called "Central Station", but it doesn't really come into central station, but rather nearby almost a block away (and it's the end of the line). Arlanda Express comes into Central Station, but is not really in the main building, so if you need to transfer...ask someone where to go. All of the T-Centralen (metro/subway), & train lines stop here, originate here or end here. However, it can be tricky getting from one area to the other if you have to transfer. It can be frustrating and there are maps available, but they are not plentiful. I suggest getting a paper map or downloading the map to your phone. There is a huge board for train travel information, but the platforms are in different areas. I'd suggest getting to know where you need to be in advance of any major train trip (like being on time to go to the airport). It is a historic station and older, growth happens and they've tried their best to keep any public transportation nearby for the easiest access possible while maintaining the historic building in all its glory. Moreover, there are bus lines available as well which are obviously out on the street. All this said, there are normally plenty of staff members around and they are a wealth of information and they are super friendly! Any staff member is more than happy to help you find your way with any of the public transportation methods and/or any combo...just tell them where you are going and they will not only tell you the best way to get there, but tell you the best way to get back as well. All this said, it takes a few days to learn it, but once you do...you'll wonder why there was ever an issue and you'll see how easy it is to use. As for the station itself...it is beautiful! Look up and around...it truly is a beautiful building inside and out. Here and there, there is art in the tunnels to the trains, on the platforms, etc. There are plenty of restaurant options, convenience stores, coffee shops, etc. if you have a layover or are staying in the area and need to grab something before getting on or off the train, etc. I personally enjoyed the station because it was near our hotel and I could just pop in and it seemed like I could always find what I was looking for due to the variety of stores. There is plenty of seating if you have a layover or need to find a place to hang out after checking out of your hotel before catching your train or whatever. You must pay to use the bathroom here. Sometimes the wait can be long, so plan accordingly. As for parking...I have no clue!

Nice enough European train station in central Stockholm. The Arlanda Express connection to the airport arrived and leaves here. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the station, as well as a full-size grocery store.

Nice train station with lots of shops, including COOP the grocery store chain. Grab water & beer on your way home or to hotel. One sad note about the train station is limited lockers. The smallest size fits a ~22" carry on luggage and not enough space left for backpack. All the lockers were used & I was unable to store my luggage temporarily, be warned. Thankfully my hotel across the was able up check me in a few hours early else I would've been stuck lugging around my carry on luggage & backpack.

Stockholms Centralstation is most likely the first place tourists will visit in Stockholm because it serves as the central point for the Arlanda Express, which is the main service connecting the city centre from Arlanda (ARN) airport - due to the fact that all railway tracks around the airport are owned by one company - the expensive yet still well run Arlanda Express does have a monopoly on the market. This station is pretty huge and has multiple levels and lifts meaning it can be pretty hard to navigate at first with so many different entrances and floors - it also doesn't help that this station also consists of many smaller stations, some of which are below it including Stockholm City Station which provides services on Stockholm Commuter Rail, this its-self is also below T-Centrallen which is one of the main hubs on the Stockholm Metro system and the main metro station, of course, serving Stockholms Centralstation - the difficulty navigating the station can be shown by entering opposite the World Trade Centre (where there are multiple bus services at CityTermilaen), having to cut through a newsagents and bar to get onto the main station concourse where you can then connect onto metro or Arlanda Express services. There are two Starbucks locations, one in the main station concourse which is pretty expensive (even for Starbucks in Sweden which is already inflated and overpriced compared to other countries), and there is also a smaller store in T-Centrallen (metro station) The staff at the information desk seemed helpful enough - but some of them did direct me to the SL information desk at the metro connection between the two stations, and I don't understand why with SL basically operating the station they weren't much help. The layout of the station could also be improved too as a broken-down lift at bridge level meant the only way I could get out of the station was by connecting onto a different lift altogether at the metro part of the station - again the staff were very unhelpful and I ended up having to go to a different station on the metro altogether to get out because it was so hard to find - again causing more problems, but that's a different review! The location for this station can't be faulted and it does have some good services throughout the stations located inside it but the layout for me is just too complex and confusing with the staff not being able to assist as well as they should - Stockholms Centralstation actually consists of two parts and it just doesn't work, especially with the vast difference of beauty and infrastructure between the main hall and other parts of the station too which are like going from watching Manchester City FC to Accrington Stanley. 2* mainly for the difficulty in being able to navigate the station and with over 200,000 daily visitors you'd expect better from this place which is virtually unavoidable as it has the only connection to ARN via the Arlanda Express with the extra star just for offering that service, the beauty of the main hall and location of the station.

Easy access central train station in the heart of Stockholm. My first train ride here was from the south to Stockholm. I had already visited before so knew the area above ground once i arrived. When you arrive you find an exit and head toward the sun...if they have sun that day. I was lucky today and within minutes was out of the station and at my hotel. Leaving out of the station was more of a challenge for a first time person but still easy to read the signs and follow the many direction signs. Also, plenty of food options and coffee places in the station if you arrive too early. My only issue are last minute track changes like what happened to me. Since the announcement is only in Swedish we could have easily missed the train if I was not pay attention. But I was and off we went to the south on the SJ train. Only easy way to travel here without the hassle of parking, fees and tickets.

The main train station in the city center. I recently used this station when I took the Arlanda Express from the airport into the city. It made perfect sense to take the Express to this station so I could see the sights in that part of the city. The station had easy signage to follow and was very clean. As you exit the trains there are several street exits to your left. But if you need any city info, go all the way forward to the main entrance/ exit for the tourist office.

Wow, its huge! Free Wi-FI is awesome but having to pay for the rest room is kind of a turn off. The massive number of comings and going can be a bit confusing. It seems all types of trains meet up here: local commuter, subway like, and even a line directly from the airport. There is plenty to do, see, and eat in the station itself so you don't have to worry too much. On the ground floor, you can find a tourist information place which can provide maps, directions, and advice.

A very central station that is easy to get to, and a good point of reference when traveling or meeting up with people. The 3 color lines all stop at this station at some point. The station is not the most intuitive to navigate when you first arrive; it wasn't immediately obvious to me where some of the platforms were (sometimes you need to go down and then up again to get to certain platforms), but when I asked an employee at the station, they were happy to help. There is signage in English in addition to Swedish. If you're in town a few days and plan to use public transport a lot, it might be worth it to get a 24- or 72-hour travel card. There is a kiosk at this station where you can buy 24-hour cards (screen can be viewed in English) but I didn't see a 72-hour purchase option at the kiosk so I bought it from the attendant in person for 240 krona. The attendant was very kind; she gave me a map with my travel card and later, when she was going off-duty and noticed me hanging out in the corner (I was waiting to meet a friend), she checked in on me to make sure I didn't need help with anything else. I was able to use my American bank card to buy the travel card without issues. All the staff I encountered were fluent in English. The station was reasonably clean and an effort had been made to make the station aesthetically pleasing; there was art on the walls and I saw an escalator lit up with rainbow lights. There were some construction areas cordoned off related to some commuter lines due to open in a few months I believe. Overall, a good, useful metro station.

Almost as massive as Rome's Termini, Stockholm central station has got the Italians beat: from the shopping, numerous grab and go food places, easy to read signs and a conspicuous information desk right when you enter from Vasagatan. (you can also get your Stockholm card here) Easy connections to everywhere in the city. Both local and long distance trains depart from here. The buses that come from the airport, like Swebus, stops at the main entrance. The Stockholm metro is more straightforward than Copenhagen's zone tickets, so if you can get around NYC using the subway, the same formula applies here. It's pretty hard to get lost in here.

'Ello chaps! Stockholm Central Station is the hub of all rail and travel activity in downtown Stockholm. There is continuous train service, and the station has many shops and restaurants. Only thing lacking are sufficient signs, like much of Stockholm. It can be very easy to get turned around and oriented.

Not my favorite place, but it is very practical and convenient. Both the bus and train stations are located here (well the bus station is across the street but close enough), so if you are traveling by bus or train you will most likely come around. Not many dining options and toilets are a bit expensive but you will find lockers throughout the whole building and also a ticket office if you need to get a tunnelbana travel card. They also have free WiFi (which is quite common in Sweden), but it only works in certain areas of the station. Traveling to/from here is not a problem, place is very central (as the name suggests), and you can take the metro, tram or a bus to another part of the city.

Chaotic! Crowded. It is huge and I had a hard time finding where I was going. Or where I should be going. Make sure you have time when arriving here. Arriving with one train finding another train is pretty easy as long as you know track numbers (which you can get onboard). The screens for arrival and departures are easy to find and read. But as soon as you need to get upstairs or downstairs, being a stranger you need some navigation skills. To find the stairs you need to be calm and patient. And definitely not in a rush. The station has lots and lots of opportunities for food to eat seated or to go. That's a good thing since you never need to worry having to get hungry on the train. Remember not all long distance trains have bistro (check in advance). BUT then again the food is ridiculously expensive. Tickets for the local transportation SL can be bought at Pressbyrån downstairs for instance. They are now changing from those well-know strips to prepaid cards.

There's only one reason i like this station: Arlanda express. 20 min to and from the station. It doesnt get much better than that. Sure it's the hub to the rest of the area and there's tons of food, bustling and semi seedy elements too. However convenience of transport os key and this is where it all happens

Big central station,and it is very good connected with trains,subway,regional train and busses. Because of very big traffic in Stockholm it is faster to travel with all of this above mentioned.

Easy to navigate, convenient and well laid out train terminal is most likely going to be your starting point if you're visiting Stockholm. As far as main transportation hubs go, in most cities I visited, this one is most hassle free. I did have an incident which could've turned into a disaster. Long story short: I left my carry on suitcase on the Arlanda Express because I'm jet lagged and a ditz. Amazingly, the staff found my suitcase and even held it for me so tack så mycket to the great staff. Basically, if you're coming to Stockholm, here's where your journey will initially begin after the airport. No worries, you'll be in and out in no time. Just note, avoid taxis here. A mere 10 minute fare over two bridges to Söder was like SK 235 ($26)!!!

Stockholm's Central Station for train, it is right across from Central Terminal for bus. If you are arriving at the Stockholm-Arlanda Airport (ARN), it is about 40KM (24Miles) to the Stockholm city center. You can either take the train for 290 SEK ($32) for 20 mins to Central Station, or take the bus (Flygbussarna) for 119 SEK ($13) for 45 mins to Central Terminal. The old city center (Gamla Stan) is about 1.1KM away You can also take the train from here to Uppsala.

The Stockholm Centralstation is large, user friendly and is a one stop shop for all travelers: from Tourism booth, to access to all trains going to other countries, T-bana (metro), airport shuttles, train to ARN in addition to a plethora of American fast food options even sushi, kebab, Asian, a Coop (grocery store) and everything else you can think a central train station ought to have. It is the busiest train station in Sweden and you will experience it, if you hang around after work. It is easy to figure out the layout if you pay attention and ask for directions. The architecture is modern, open space, and during rush hour, it's just like navigating through NYC's Grand Central. If you walk out of the station you are smack in the middle of downtown Stockholm with easy access to restos, Gamla Stan and the outlying neighborhoods to downtown. All points of interest walkable, very walkable. Now this is what a Central Station ought to be. Visits: 5+ Tip: Look for information and tourist booths on the main floor to get oriented. Swedes speak English...like natives. That is your lifeline to access all forms of transportation in/out of the station. There are cabs outside the station, and while these rides ain't cheap, they're there in case Uber doesn't do it for you.

It's the best train station I have visited. And yes I have at least some experience from Germany, U.K., Holland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Swiss. Only one I can think of that is comparable is Berlin. It's clean (for a train station) and feels secure. Cafe options is good and it's very open space so you don't feel lost. Signs are easy to find and very descriptive. Even in rush hour it's not over crowded. It's convenient that you can change from airport train, tube, long-distance-buses and trains to the rest of the country without going outside !! It's THE travel hub of Sweden.

Poorly designed station. You need to go downstairs and then upstairs again to get to the tracks. How practical is that for people with luggage and strollers? The elevators barely fit 3-4 people with luggage and only 2 adults with one luggage and one stroller. So there is obviously always a wait. The only plus is that there are quite a few shops to eat from (bakeries, hot dog shop, McDonald's, Burger King, sandwich shops, convenience stores, Sushi Yama, and a few others) and even a fairly large supermarket downstairs called Coop that is opened early and closes late. They also sell a hot buffet that is quite good (but can be pricey).

Not first time visit friendly. Subway doesnt work well paired with google maps as the signs say one thing and google says another. Also there is poor wireless coverage in the subway and difficult to track your movement. My advice is to find your way outside and request uber to your hotel then mess with figuring out the system later. Its fairly easy getting here but its leaving that confused me. Lots of shops and eats. More people asking for money here than I saw in Berlin. You buy your blue SL card for the train in stores named Pressbyran, sort of like a convenience store and they are scattered everywhere. Overall, compare to other places, this place is difficult and will take a few days to understand how its all mapped out. Uber worked well.

It's a good central station, especially if you are a tourist. It is split into different sections so the walk from the metro to the bus terminal may involve a walk but you will be under cover out of the weather and passing by interesting shops and some food outlets The metro (local Stockholm) trains are in one part, then you have the regional train service to other cities in Sweden including international services to Norway and Denmark The bus terminal is down one end and it deals with coach services to other areas of Sweden with the local Stockholm bus service found at road level along with a taxi rank. There are many places to grab something to eat and drink plus quite a bit of seating whilst waiting for your train to board. The information desk i found to be very helpful with what bus to take from where to get to the museum I was after and also helping me out with what ticket option I should go for, they do a 72 hour pass which is awesome if you are only around for a couple of full days like I was and a handful of hours each side where you only need to get to the station from your accommodation One of the better stations I have been to

As far as train stations go, this was a pretty good one to sit and wait for a train in. Lots of food options, including a large grocery store on the bottom level, and a few other general shopping options. We stayed across the street from the station, so I actually walked in for coffee every morning before heading out for the day, and staff at all the coffee shops were super friendly and even let me come pay them back for a coffee and juice one day when their system was down and I didn't have any cash. Pretty easy to find the track you needed, too, and all the ticket machines have an English option; didn't take me very long to figure out what I was doing.
