Part museum, part gift shop, it's the perfect stop for the men while the women are shopping for pink cowboy boots and whatnot.
Though the museum is small, there really is a lot of cool stuff to look at. My favorites are the old pictures and the three-ring binder on the history of Swift & Co. (or was it Armour?).
The Stockyards Museum Is Open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.--5 p.m. and Memorial Day through Labor Day--Sundays from Noon to 5 p.m.
The museum is free, though donations are accepted.

PS. If it's playing, try to watch the "Wall Street of the West" DVD, narrated by Barry Corbin (of Northern Exposure fame). It's quite interesting. That reminds me, I need to see if the library has a copy.
[update] Fort Worth Library does have a copy!
