Attended the Boodles event here for the first time. Amazing day out, wonderful staffing, beautiful surroundings, and a sumptuous lunch. It's definitely a long overdue bucket list item that is satisfactorily now ticked 🍾✔️

I visited for the Boodles tennis, having been there several times before and I was quite impressed with the service and food area. However, this year, the service was poor and the food just as bad. Previously the food was excellent with a good choice. Horrendous queues with only one food stand and one coffee stand. The new owners really need to do better at these functions.

This place is absolutely gorgeous. Attended a wedding here and it is perfect for someone looking to have an elegant one. Lovely outside seating looking onto gardens and a fountain. The rooms are very comfortable with all the necessities. The bridal suite was very spacious, especially the bathroom!! (The bath was almost like a mini dipping pool!). Interiors in the main hall are gorgeous, my personal favourite were the chandeliers.

In a hotel hospitality of the staff is huge and this hotel did not disappoint. From check in to check out including the bar and dinner staff all were very helpful and pleasant - and mostly very competent. But effort counts and they were working hard. The grounds were well kept up and beautiful. There was quite a bit of renovation going on which took away from the potentially majestic interior space in the main building, but that's OK. At least the painters stopped when we were eating breakfast. The room however was not good. First it was pretty worn down, but mostly it wasn't clean. A dirty spoon with the coffee set up, the bathroom door had a splatter of what I hope was coffee and the shower tiles needed a good scrubbing. The hand shower had a huge leak in it so at a certain angle more water came out of the handle than the nozzle. The air circulator came on what seemed like every 10 minutes for 30 seconds during the night so it forced me to just turn it off. So, staff 5 stars, grounds good as well, unfortunately room cleanliness 1 star.

A beautiful place on beautiful grounds. A great experience. Needs some polish on customer service and a few upgrades here and there. Beautiful spacious bathrooms. Bed was a little lumpy and needs upgrading. Historic location. Dinner was good. Biggest complaint was the check-in experience. No valet waiting to take our car--our check-in and our request for valet were greeted as a bother. Our tea wasn't brought to our room as offered. Ice was melted in the champagne bucket so champagne was warm in our room upon arrival, too. Just the place is nice and quiet. A welcome luxury after a few nights in the countryside.

We stayed here for a weekend in September and loved it, we shall have to return. Most notably the staff were all friendly and helpful and the sports facilities were excellent. The gym is enormous and looks out over the grounds and tennis was brilliant fun indoors or outside. We had a dip in the pool, also good but time limited due to Covid. ||We loved our breakfasts in the Orangery and dinner was good though slightly lacking atmosphere. ||The pavillion room was ok, nothing special. We would stay in the main house if we came again as you have to walk outside now anyway to access the spa. Oddly the second floor rooms had sloping ceilings and a 4ft wall outside the window blocking what would otherwise be a wonderful view. As they only built the pavillion 20 years ago this seemed an odd design flaw. The grounds, pond and local area were spectacular. We normally stay at the Grove but Stoke Park just wins out overall. A really enjoyable break thanks

Visited as a birthday surprise. We stayed in the Sherlock room which was large but equally cosy. 2 nice easy chairs by the window overlooking the lake and golf course. Huge bathroom with sumptuous towels and robes.||||The staff were excellent, polite and courteous, the only thing that spoiled the 2 night stay was the very disappointing food and the poor decoration of the only restaurant open on the nights we were there, The Orangery. Decor very old and tired, carpet had huge stains all through the room, furniture rather not in keeping with the rest of the surroundings.||||Food very poor. As this was the only place to eat there were just 4 choices of starter, mains & deserts which were the same each night. The food on the first night was ok, I had the Duck nicely spaced between courses but the second night it was like being in McDonalds and the quality very poor. I had the steak on mustard mash. The mash cold, the steak tough more, fat than meat. I did complain and it was taken off the bill. Excellent choice of breakfast but again McDonalds. Good quality, nicely presented but my hot meal arrived before I had even got halfway through my yoghurt and fruit.||||I appreciate these are difficult times but with a hotel with this reputation you would expect even now for the food to be of the highest quality. Sadly not.||||We enjoyed the golf but very slow and muddy fairways with no facilities to clean shoes or trolleys

Yelp
This hotel is just a top shelf establishment. It has all one could ever expect in the way of service and convenience with a mamouth amount of Ambience thrown in on top. Breakfast is outstanding. Always have the smoke salmon and scrambled eggs. Tea and scones in the afternoon. Played golf too. I am no Sean Connery but felt like it playing on the scene of Goldfinger. Anyhow. Can't say enough about the service and the staff in general. We are all stars there and yes there is. Wonderful. The Spa is second to none and being a tennis fanatic have often been to the Boodles tournament on the lead up to Wimbledon. Anyhow staying there or not I frequent as often as possible. Good for them I don't live in the UK or I would become the resident pain the ass. SC

Yelp
Monsieur took me to Stoke Park Club for a special occasion late last summer. I'd spent the previous 4 months learning golf and practising on different courses but not one prepared me for how tough the championship golf course is at SPC! Having said that, I made my way around 18 of the possible 27 holes and managed to score a couple of bogies while we were at it. But by the famed 18th hole where James Bond played Goldfinger in the film of the same name, both Monsieur and I were absolutely exhausted. The fairways are long, the bunkers so strategic that they're harder to work around than advanced Sudoku, but if you asked me to grab my clubs and head out for another 18 holes at Stoke Park right now? I'd be there in a shot. During our weekend, Monsieur and I also took advantage of the spa, where there's a country club feel and indoor swimming pool flooded with natural light from an entire wall of windows, we practised on the putting green, hit the driving range and benefitted from a well-appointed room filled with antiques. Our continental breakfast in the Orangery was just right, the lunch on a picnic table overlooking the tricky 15th hole consisted of fantastic BLTs, and the dinner we enjoyed at their fine restaurant was nothing less than Michelin star material. Monsieur and I have now decided to get married at Stoke Park. Need I say more? Yes, it's expensive, but some good packages are available, where you can try a little of everything that Stoke Park has to offer, so keep an eye out. In our view, this place is worth every single penny, and the staff are nothing less than world class.
