A beautiful hotel nestled in a quiet part of Slough, surrounded by countryside and a lovely pond in the garden. Competitively priced. It does, unfortunately need a lot of TLC and investment to bring it up to standard. The service was fantastic, with most staff very helpful and attentive. There are plenty of rooms both in the main house, and also garden rooms. The garden rooms were modern and well equipped, albeit much smaller. The issue I had with them was that there's a hospital nearby so the noise from ambulance sirens was very frequent and loud. If you're a light sleeper, this isn't great. I then moved to a room in the main house, very kindly accommodated by the reception staff. The room was huge, with beautiful views over the garden, with the benefit of a bathtub next to the window too. The room was tired. The mattress wasn't that comfortable but evidence of neglect all round. White painted cardboard was used to cover a hole in the ceiling (screwed in), the curtains were torn and the furniture was damaged. I did have a good sleep, however. The food was ok. Breakfast took a while to arrive, but the produce was nice. Dinner was a mixed bag. Quite expensive but good variety. I ordered steak cooked medium rare. It came out well done. When challenged, they said it was fine. I was too hungry to complain, so I ate it anyway. Overall, a lovely property, but in need of significant investment to bring it up to a good standard.

I am local and visit regularly and the staff and food are excellent ||The rooms are comfortable and beautiful if you don’t appreciate 17th century and like modern then perhaps not for you this is like a Downton abbey experience you won’t get clean lines you’ll get character and exceptional staff who know how to make your stay wonderful ||We also got married here and the team at stoke place smashed the day out of the park! Precision of planning made it happen and delivered exceptional food and drink

This is the second time I've stayed here. The lake is beautiful and one can walk around it and spend time by the lake all day if the weather is good. I stayed in a Junior Suite which is massive and overlooks the Capability Brown lake. Unfortunately, my pictures are too large to post apparently. Now, this place is a bit run down. The furniture is shabby and amenities are basic. Lots of bits and pieces you could pull apart. It would get a serious grilling if it was on Hotel Inspector or 4 In A Bed. However, I wasn't fussed. I know the place and have always loved the house and grounds. It is nice and private too. I've given it a 4 rating, which is a bit too generous considering the hotels I've stayed at in Asia. I played in the grounds of this Manor since a boy so I have a soft spot for it. The staff are helpful, friendly and not in your face. They'll upgrade you too if you ask nicely. My gigantic room was £129 and I booked direct. I had the same room last time and paid £80 & was upgraded. It's a lovely house and grounds with friendly, discrete staff.

We just want to say a huge thank you to Tracey and the team at Stoke Place. ||Our wedding day really was the best day of our lives and that was down to the hard work of everyone working at the hotel to make it the perfect day.||One of the main reasons we picked the venue was because of how fondly Tracey spoke of it when we first looked round, she made it such an easy choice to go with and we’re so glad we did.||From day one of planning we felt really looked after, our vision for the big day was listened to and nothing seemed too big an ask. We really felt cared for and this sentiment was shared by our friends and family who came.||The venue is stunning and the perfect location for a summer wedding. The lake and grounds suited us perfectly and our guests loved it.||Over the weekend we felt we got to use every part of the hotel and grounds, which made everything feel so personal and special.||Our guests loved our dinner choices, and the menu felt so varied that we could have gone with a number of other dishes that would have been perfect too. The wine menu was particularly good!||Being able to have catch up meetings with Tracey at the venue leading up to the venue also made us feel very looked after and she was so good at talking through the day and making sure it went off without a hitch.||The hospitality staff were also great, making sure everyone got their meals, that our vision came together and making sure everyone’s glasses topped up frequently!||We really felt we got value for our money and looking back over the photos it all looks as magical as it felt on the day.||We would 100% recommend Stoke Place for anyone considering it as a wedding venue. You won’t regret it.||Thank you so much for the best day of our lives,|Jonny and Holly

Booked this hotel because it looked so nice on the website but obviously the photos are years old. On arrival looked nice but went up to the room so disappointed it was dirty and the bed had hairs on the mattress furniture was only fit for the tip it was filthy and dropping in bits the floor was filthy bathroom so bad black mould and one tap missing parts. ||Went down to reception and ask for another clean room and was told they had no other rooms available . || asked to see manager he arrived I explained all the problems and shown him the pictures his response was it’s a old house he was not interested what that as to do with cleanliness is beyond me . ||Will never return.

Much appreciated! Thank you William and team 😊

We got married on the 14th of June 2025 and we couldn’t have been more happier! From the open days right up until the wedding every detail was attended to by our lovely wedding coordinator Tracey who was beyond helpful throughout! The service, food quality and quantity was amazing no one went without. We had numerous guests telling us how perfect it all was and how lovely the food was. Everything was set up perfect exactly how we wanted our dream wedding, nothing was too much from the staff. We had a lovely surprise in the bridal suite of champagne and chocolates which was a beautiful touch, rooms were stunning amazing view of the grounds. Highly recommend and will be definitely coming back to visit. Thank you again to Tracey for making our dream wedding so perfect and to all the staff for their above and beyond attitude.

Upon check in I was a little apprehensive about the hotel. Slightly dated, receptionist quite informal.. I went to the bar and my first impressions weren’t great.. however! The service from the staff was excellent. The food was absolutely spot on for what o actually wanted and the Malbec was more than drinkable.. my room whilst a bit dated in the house was more than comfortable and clean.. I will definitely come back again. Thank you
