Stokes Farm

I really liked this farm. I moved to Old Tappan last November and was happy to get to know Stokes Farm. I purchased the U-Pick Flower Membership ($175), which allows you to pick flowers once a month from July to mid-October. It was also mentioned that if I missed a month, I could double up the next time or let a friend pick instead. Last month I was too busy because my child had just started school and caught a cold, so today was finally the only chance I had to use my missed pick. Since I needed to double up, I brought my daughter’s friend along. Today was already October 11th, close to the end of the season, so I couldn’t postpone it any longer. Unfortunately, it started raining quite a bit, enough that it was uncomfortable for the six-year-olds to stay outside. When I received the scissors, I politely asked if, given the weather, it would be okay to take two small pumpkins and pick just a small amount of flowers instead. But the staff member didn’t even look at me and just turned away, saying, “We don’t do that.” The tone felt dismissive and rude, as if I were trying to get something for free. I understand if it’s against policy, but the attitude was really disappointing. I’ve already paid $175, which is $43.75 per visit, and every time I came before, I also bought other things, spending over $70 each time. Yet today I was treated like a freeloader, even though I was using two visits’ worth (an $87.50 value), while they were being friendly only to the people at the checkout counter. Because of the rain, we couldn’t even fill half the bucket, and I ended up paying $3 more for mini pumpkins my kids wanted. Still, I left thinking, “I’m not coming back.” They may have made a small sale today, but they lost a loyal future customer.

I grew up eating great Italian food, but there is simply no beating the vibrant flavors of Mexican food. As with Italian food, Mexican food requires very fresh ingredients to pull off authenticity and with this "farm to table" method, Stokes Farm has nailed it. Today they introduced their collaboration with The Taco-ish. With this they are bringing some needed life back into Old Tappan. We ordered the chicken thigh tacos, a side of guacamole, and the cassava chips. They generously threw in a side of the tomato salsa, a side of the cauliflower and mushroom salsa, and some tortilla chips. The food was simple, delicious and fresh. Just the right balance of acid, heat, and savory flavors. The mushroom and cauliflower salsa is unique and excellent. They have plenty of outdoor seating and the staff were kind and helpful. The prices may seem slightly on the higher end, but you get what you pay for and what you are getting here is no compromise in quality. That said, I wouldn't have said no to a little more guacamole. Old Tappan really needed this and I'm very excited to see what Stokes Farm will bring next. I highly recommend you go check them out and pick up something from the farm stand while you are at it.

The small apple crisp was $13 (9/24/25) and it was 80% crust. Hardly any apples. Not what I was expecting. It was about 7" round. The regular pies are $27 but I won't buy that with no apples in the crisp.

Ordered the herb wreath and am enjoying its fragrances inside during thanksgiving and on my outer door for Christmas

Excellent and so nice and helpful they didnt have chives so a very nice man went into their garden and cut us some. They are great and vegetables and fruit is fresh and delicious. Definitely going back there

The best farm in Northern New Jersey! Great produce, baked goods and flowers! The staff is accommodating, professional, experienced and genuinely kind. I MUST visit! Thank you Stokes Farm!!!

This place has a farm stand, pumpkins, a hale maze (just 2 ft high), tractor pull, and pumpkins placed in a field for selection. I cannot recommend this as a destination for a fall pumpkin day. It's tucked into a suburban neighborhood, not very scenic, and the farm itself was quite littered with trash and debris. The baked goods were fresh but not very tasty. The staff were nice and they certainly had a good selection of mums, pumpkins, and other gourds, plus traditional, non-organic produce.

Love this place. The freshest veggies ever. Delicious donuts. Grandkids love them. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Just a great family run old fashion style farm market. Great products and service

Great experience at Stokes Farm. From honey to ice cream to produce to apple pie, Stokes has it. I grabbed a pot pie, and it was delicious. A great crust! Give Stokes a try!

Stokes Farm was new to my family and me, but it was much closer than others that we were familiar with, so we decided to check it out. We arrived a little before they were going to close, so we skipped jumping on their final hayride of the day, which was rather pricey anyway. Besides, it was nearing the end of the picking season, so we did not really need pumpkins. (They also offer flowers, tomatoes, and strawberries, depending on the time of the year.) Instead, we just walked around the grounds a bit and mainly browsed their shop. The store offered a variety of baked goods, snacks, local ice cream, flowers, and much more. The four of us wanted to indulge with some apple cider donuts, which were only sold in 6-packs for $8, so we were forced to buy more than we had wanted. The pastries wound up being amazing, however. They were light, fluffy, and sprinkled with just the right amount of cinnamon sugar. We would go back to Stokes Farm in the future, but would likely partake in some of their you-pick activities then.

A small farm with friendly service, some produce and fruits, herbs, and a bakery with limited selection. Don't expect to fulfill your grocery list here as there's not that much. But if you're in the area and not looking for a deal, you could get some local produce. They also had apple cider donuts for $7.50 for 6. They also sell some maple syrup and pancake mix, though the mix expired in a few weeks so not too fresh.

A great place for plants and herbs. We came here late last year (too late) and the friendly staff told us to try to come back around April/May. We went recently and were pleasantly surprised at all off the plants that were available. The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. They had a great selection of plants and herbs. Everything looked very fresh and healthy. The store had some great bakery items including some great doughnuts. I would recommend this place to anyone is the area.

Small, unassuming farmstand. High quality plants and shrubs. My favorite place to get my plant. They also have a bakery and a wine bar.

Had an amazing time here this past weekend at an event they held called the "farm-i-que." We had a great time picking pumpkins, creating flower bouquets, going on a hay ride and eating great food. We will absolutely be back to check out their store and other events they may have!

My go to place for delicious fresh vegetables during spring, summer, and fall! From the early spring garlic to the delicious lettuce, tomatoes, eggplants, and squash, I look forward to cooking these healthy options for my family. And if you subscribe to their CSA program, you even get great recipes to try out! It's a multi generational family-run farm, who are kind and attentive to their customers. A wonderful asset to our town of Old Tappan!

The taco track "The tacoish" on the back is amazing. Best tacos in the area. Good ingredients, farm to table quality. The grilled shrimp tacos were my personal favorite.

I dealt with a man named Ron Binaghi for Stokes Farm to delivery some specialty crop. Binaghi, seemingly a manager, was really arrogant, rude and difficult to deal with.

We had the most wonderful first time visiting Stokes Farm. From the tasty baked treats, the kindest staff imaginable, the charming shop, the personal hayride, getting to play in the dirt, to Farmer Ron picking flowers for my little girl... it was just magical and we can't wait to come back!

This farm is exceptional! THE nicest staff. They give such personal attention to the smallest request. Excellent variety of produce. And so fresh!!! But the thing that sets them apart is the customer service. They define the word friendly.

This hidden gem holds the distinction of being the go to location for Rosemary. While most is grown in much warmer climates, they dedicate themselves to growing in their greenhouse. Its absolutely amazing! Whether its jumbo rosemary plants in April or rosemary wreaths in November, its worth the trip. I should know.... its easily 75 miles away from my home and I make the trip annually

Such a great find! Their plants look lovely and their produce looks even better. The staff is super nice and helpful. I bought a dozen donuts for breakfast from here and it was probably the best decision I've made all week.

Went here because of the nice Yelp pictures. The greenhouse, the reason we came here was empty. Not much in terms of plants, likely because it's the end of summer. The only plants for sale were bunches of sunflowers. In late July it's basically a room with a wine tasting corner, baked goods, some produce, and jars of preserves. The wine tasting corner seemed popular.

Never bought anything from the bakery. My husband brought home two blueberry muffins today . Omg the bakery will b the first place I go now. They were soft, moist, fresh and the blueberries were fantastic. Thank u Binaghi family

I have bought lots of plants and produce from both their greenmarket stand in the city as well as their stand in Old Tappan. I couldn't say anything bad about them. Everyone was very helpful and they were also very knowledgable about how tomatoes should be picked

Love this place, such a great selection. They have very healthy beautiful plants. Great choices in type and color, much nicer and more sophisticated than other local nurseries. Great small produce shop inside too, the currants last summer were a great edition to my peach preserves!

Disappointed in the CSA - there is a definite difference depending on which day you pick up the box. Tuesday pickups have more bountiful boxes than Wednesday pickups. The descriptions on the website do not match up to reality. They advertise a pound of tomatoes and one medium small tomato is not anywhere near a pound. August is bountiful with tomatoes but the Wednesday boxes do not reflect it. Yet there was a big display of tomatoes in the store so it is not lack of supply.

We love this place SO much!!! We came on a sunny Sunday and found it to be absolutely charming. It's a small place to be sure. But their little pumpkin patch was perfect for my two year old son. There weren't 84,000 people there. No one asking you to pay for the opportunity to find a pumpkin. Just a nice sweet little pumpkin patch. The Great Pumpkin would approve. My son picked a nice large sturdy pumpkin. (It wasn't cheap. It was $20. But you are paying as much when you go to any pick your own pumpkin place by the time you've paid just to get on property and then paid for the pumpkin by weight. So it all evens out and we are happy to support a local business!) I was happy to pay whatever the price b/c the pumpkin patch it self was so cute and relaxed. There were picture cut outs and little chairs for picture opportunities. The BEST thing though was the doughnuts. Delicious and warm just out of the oven. They are ever so slightly crunchy from the cinnamon sugar mixture. Truly the most heavenly, drive worthy, fantastic doughnuts a fall loving doughnut fan could find!! The people are incredibly friendly and the vibe is laid back. It's exactly what my family likes for a sunny early fall day in October. If you are looking for nice pumpkins in a sincere patch and truly delicious doughnuts, Stokes Farm is worth the drive!!

Wow. Thank you. Fresh mozzarella, heirloom this and whoa, "What are those little plums?" Food. They have a CSA. Runs thru November.

I love these guys. Small family run farm right down the street from our house. Their staff is all very friendly, and they have a delicious in house bakery and coffee too!

Great farm. Their own produce featuring hydroponic lettuce, heirloom tomatoes as well as many other produce. Also plenty of herbs.
